"Huh?"

Seeing the bouncing chick in front of her that is floating around, she pinched her face to feel the pain proofing her this was reality.

Arianna continued to stare blankly not knowing the words that were being said by the chick. The chick puffed its cheeks in anger.

[Kik! Hey, Hey! Are you even in your state of mind?!]

Her eyebrows suddenly twitched in annoyance. She looked up to see the fuming chick in front of her and stand up.

She felt herself float, making her bewildered at what is happening. Seeing her change of expression, it giggled.

Arianna stared at it in shock and shouted.

"Hey! How can I get down on my feet?!"

[Hek— This so funny~]

"Ugh..."

She couldn't help but widen her eyes coldly towards the shaking chick that was floating and reached out for it. Unknown to its doom, it was grabbed by its claw and stared at the villainous smirk on the woman's expression.

[Caw! What are you doing?!]

She chuckled, completely forgotten at what happened to her a few minutes ago before she was stuck here.

"Hoh? Are you actually a crow behind a chick's skin?"

Hearing this, the chick flustered and struggles violently trying to escape from her grasp. Due to his small structure, it was grabbed by her two firm hands and looked up with its wide full dark pitch eyes.

[Hik! What do you want from me..?]

"No, actually, I should be the one asking."

She didn't feel this victorious and proud at catching a little cute being like the chick. She hummed softly then spoke.

"...Then I will ask you this."

She placed her index finger on her cheek, closing her eyes in thought. She had many questions she wanted answers to, but for now, she will ask a few questions not to stress the small being with multiple stressful questions.

"What are you and where am I?"

The chick locked eyes with her and trembled. It opened its beak then closed then opened it again, with a completely different aura this time.

[Then I shall introduce myself formally to you. Call me Ge Ge, Ge for short. And you're in a world of inbetween.]

Arianna looked at Ge Ge in surprise at how serious its words and actions turned out to be after it explain to her.

"'Inbetween?'"

She tilted her head, glancing at the white space in confusion. Ge Ge sighed and calmly spoke without waiting for her to finish examining the empty place.

[It's a separate dimension from the place you come from and the gateway towards other worlds or should I say dimensions that are completely different some similar towards yours. This space is also your consciousness yet not but you can gain control over it as your time or should a say your achievements are high enough to meet its requirements.]

She blinked in surprise, gaping at its words then tilted her head even more as she thought deeply at the information that is given to her.

[Oh! And please consider me as a male, he/him is preferable—]

"Huh?"

She looked at him, perplexed at why he mentioned that. Ge Ge smiled knowing that and responded to the question that is running through her head.

[It just seemed you keep looking at me as an animal with no gender so I had to fix that~]

"Ah—"

She nodded in understanding. She didn't feel embarrassed at him finding out how she unconsciously identified him.

Arianna floated gently getting the hang of it then pulled him closer to her face and quietly began some questioning to satisfy her concerns and confusion.

"What did you mean by 'chosen one?' Does it imply something that makes me different from the others?"

Ge Ge stared at her for a second then answered.

[Yes. You aren't the only one actually. You are one of those who needs to complete the tale that needs to spread among ‘them.’]

“‘Them?’”

[My apologies. But I’m not able to go any further than that.]

She shook her head and smiled softly. This was already a lot of information and she doesn’t mind not knowing who he is referring to that required her tale.

“So let this be one of the last even if I have a bunch that needs answers.”

He smiled in relief and nodded his head eagerly for the last question. She hesitated for a second but then spoke without hesitation.

“How am I alive and how come I have been brought here with the ability to float and be transparent?”

Ge Ge stayed silent. Arianna patiently sat, floating, as she stared at the closed-beak chick in front of her. She still wondered what was the reason she was brought here, which she could guess, was a soul.

She decided to let him go and released him to the restrictions from her closed palms. He flapped its wings taking a few distances away from her and finally opened its beak after a few minutes passed.

[You are given a second chance to go back and fulfill your chance in living your life and correct what you had desperately prayed for in the past.]

She stared at him in shock and couldn’t help but tremble in excitement at his words.

‘A second chance?’

She didn’t know how to react as she felt multiple emotions coming into a collision and she felt her brain paralyzed at not able to function right at the sudden words.

But she didn’t feel right. It’s the atmosphere and attitude that she couldn’t completely grasp why Greg Ge gave her cold shoulders. But the next words made her stop.

[Your younger siblings.]

She froze at his words and widen her eyes in alarm.

‘Of course! Nothing good comes without a price.’

She gritted her teeth and glared at him who was floating and twirling around her. Before she could speak in denial, he bet her to it making her now frozen as a statue.

[Once you go back in time, you will only meet bodies with no souls as your family.]
