This is my Status now, barely managing to portray how much I have changed.
When I walk the streets, an army of my children shambles in the shadows, spread beneath the ground in the meager piping that the residents call a drainage system.
Eggs burst under my skin, only for the spiderlings to bite and claw, until a small black pimple is formed that they can erupt out of.
And still, non of this is seen by those around me, the library cloke disguising what happens in the darkness beneath.
Everything hurts, but after I got used to it, it is a good pain, proving that I am still alive.
A viscous liquid flows in my veins, and so I smile as the gazes of the people in the old tavern settle on me.
Gazes of Intrigue, Gazes of lust, and even some Gazes of annoyance, the kind of gazes that a strange woman in a run-down Tavern at the end of the continent could expect with certainty.
And as they start to get back to their daily activities, I stride toward the counter, where an old man was giving drinks to people, probably the Innkeeper.
"Give me the hardest you got, I need to drink something that is not water as soon as possible"
I say, taking out a silver coin.
"and a room, with any kind of food you can give me for this. I am tired"
I left out the part where I never had money, to make sure my soul was pure... But that Gangol had long since sunken, probably never to emerge again. Souls are hard to clean after contacting and dedicating a class slot to the chaos realm, let alone the Abyssal realms.
So, as he gave me a glowing purple drink and a piece of bread, I immediately started gulping them down, smiling at the burning feeling in my chest as something that doesn't taste like a spider enters my stomach for the first time in days.
The Drink tastes sweet, though it has a sour aftertaste, and is probably highly psychedelic and numbing, given that I, despite my high poison resistance, feel a little drunk.
Maybe, when I enter the bed, I find out that it was all just a dream, that I have never been betrayed by the people of the church, and that our lord truly is a good god.
So it is understandable that I am somewhere between entertaining or tearing the Idiot apart that decides to order me another drink and Introduces himself as Steven, though his mouth stinking of alcohol and his gaze fixed on the few inches of skin that are shown beneath my collarbone.
How is he capable of creepy staring, when the person he stares at is almost completely covered in a cloak?
Well, letting him talk until I decide can't be too bad, right?
How should Caroline react to Steven?
