That Silva boy puffed his chest and went to the podium with a look full of arrogance. But just as he saw the staff take out a syringe full of serum, his face was a scene to behold. And a drama of a trypophobia child's struggle with Sensory Serum took the stage. The staff showed their professionalism as the terrified silva didn't even get the chance to scream before taking the dose. After getting the serum, I saw his hands and legs shaking profusely. He started looking at his surroundings cautiously. His behavior alerted others.

Expecting this, Richard spoke again, "The serum makes you super sensitive to the surrounding origin energy. In normal times, you can't feel anything special from the empty air surrounding you. But after taking the serum, the origin energy foreign to you becomes as close as your childhood friend. This sudden change is hard to adapt to. But don't worry, the effect of this serum is temporary. Instead, he directly went to the Metal crystal and tried to get some reaction from it. And the slug of metal reacted! An announcer detected this and announced,

"Daniel Silva, Metal element user."

I was surprised, it looked like Daniel knew about his element from the start. But people from Silva and other noble families nodded as if they expected. Silvas were well-known Metal users. So, it's true that your strongest or first ancestor's genes can also play a vital role in elemental affinity.

And people after Daniel followed the line. To prove Richard's claim true,6 out of fifteen were Earth users. Some were water but the rest were air users.

After the repetition of Earth, Air, Water, and Wood, serial number 33 came to the podium. This elegant guy got a reaction from a golden crystal resulting in another ruckus.

"Leonard Howard, Light element user."

As another noble awakened a rare element, everyone sighed. Did nobility give rare elements or did rare elements give nobility, this was an idiot's job to ponder about?

But the ceremony continued. There were consecutive awakenings of 5 Fire users after Leo. And they looked like they were from the same family based on their looks and attire.

"Marie Rose, Dark Element user."

This sudden intervention of Dark element in the list of five elemental candidates paused the audience for some time. No one expected Redien City to have a darkness user in today's ceremony. It can't be helped as Darkness users have pretty bad historical records in the continental's history. Especially in Redien city, an event of a shocking holocaust was related to a Dark Elementalist. So, this element became a taboo word here. They are also hunted down in our neighbor Aslan Empire. And also accepted in open arms by the Pandemonium.

Pandemonium has the highest darkness user in the whole Origin world. It's not like the council didn't have darkness users. If Redien city can produce one- others can too. It's just human's inherent fear of dark and darkness users' natural assassin-like quality that made the atmosphere solemn.

But Richard and others from the association seem like they didn't care. They have seen far more of the world than these frogs living in the well.

After much hustle-bustle, finally, my serial number was called. I was a little afraid of getting Earth elements like mass folks. But as I recalled Richard's speech, the unwillingness vanished away.

But a well-proportioned body wasn't that unique feature as every single one of the participants was practicing body tempering arts for at least 5 years, giving them perfect figures.

As the staff member infected the serum in my arms, I expected some kind of sudden explosion of senses or something like discovering a new world. But, nothing happened! Nothing!

'Am I one of those unlucky fellows who failed to awaken their affinity? The dream I dreamt all these days, will it always be a dream?' Negative thoughts started harboring in my already dejected mind. Unbeknownst of my dilemma, the staff pointed me at the essence crystals.

With a stern face, I stood in front of the brown crystal and tried to absorb its essence. But failed, that made me frightened. Not an earth user!

Accordingly, I went to the blue, still no reaction. I tried to absorb essence from other crystals, but the same situation happened again and again. Every failure was like a hit from a heavy hammer in my heart. My legs kept shaking as I took every step, my body dripped cold sweats. Fear is way stronger than Sensory serum. At last, I came in front of the purple crystal, also my last hope.

Even though I couldn't absorb origin essence, each crystal gave me a different feeling from another. I could feel calmness from blue, Furor from Red, Silence from Dark.

But I could feel only pure violence from this purple crystal. A pure desire to destroy. And the moment I tried to absorb a little essence from this essence core, pure energy rushed into my body as if a ln overflowed dam was opened. And my body acted as if it was longing for this. This continued for a while.
