The boar dashed through the forest, as it made its way through the moonless night, with its mind and instincts both roaring in anticipation, while a thick, ghostly-blue trail was spanned out in front of it, forming a path along the ground as it wafted down from the trees and into the boar's nostrils.

It followed the spectral path at a brisk pace, while still avoiding any nearby animals or obstacles that could get in its way, which made it seem as if the beast thought that its pungent road would vanish into the night, just as quickly as it had appeared.
It kept pounding its hooves against the ground, digging its powerful legs into the dirt, as it sprinted forward and hurled itself over the roots of the trees!

The scent continued to grow stronger, with the thick scent in front of it becoming increasingly more aromatic, causing the boar to spread its sharp fangs in delight, allowing the wind to infiltrate its maw.

Sometime after it had begun its mad dash, the boar slowed its pace, as it had finally made it to a spot where the odor it had been so vigorously chasing became overwhelmingly dense! It soon ground to a halt in front of a thin wall of branches, where the scent had seemingly bounded over it.

The boar, with its instincts quickly beginning to surge through it like a tidal wave, began to charge up its darkening miasma, absorbing it into its body, before a bloody-red aura surrounded it! It dug its rear legs into the dirt, crushing what stones and insignificant lifeforms with its hooves, and scraped its front hooves repeatedly against the ground, as it prepared to charge forward, into the unknown!

[Roar!!!]

[Crack!!!]

The ground beneath the boar’s legs was split apart, as the monstrous beast began its charge, with the bloody aura filling its entire body with power! It shot through the tangle of branches, tearing them apart, even as hidden brambles dug into its flesh, as it mindlessly lusted for the flesh of the illusive child it believed to be beyond this natural veil!

Soon, a moonless, clouded sky revealed itself to the beast’s vicious, red eyes, as the area in front of it was exposed…

[Burble...burble...burble...burble…]

Despite the area being shrouded in shadows, it could still see much of its surroundings. the ground it now treaded on was a mix of dirt and stone, interwoven into the surrounding landscape, which stretched out before the boar. Around it, many thin trees rose up from the ground piercing the earth that surrounded a gently flowing stream, which looked as if it was dividing the forest in two…

The border of the forest on the other side of the river, was covered in and formed by water-worn stones. The boar, compelled by its instincts to seek out its prey, was rendered oblivious to its surroundings, and its vicious glare locked onto a shaded figure...

Its eyelids narrowed as it tried to make out the exact shape of the figure, which stood near the lake, shrouded in darkness. It was relatively humanoid in shape, from what it could see, and was approximately the size of a small child, but the boar couldn’t discern any of its defining features…

[Grunt…][G-Grunt…!]

But, as its instincts clawed at it to act, and the concentration of the scent it had followed was at its highest, it couldn’t bring itself to hold back on attacking any longer, and began its preparations to attack. The steadily darkening miasma, which had been depleted by its previous usage, now began to reemerge, wrapping around the slobbering, monstrous beast, as it prepared to charge!

[Grun...rrl!!]

However, even as the quickly darkening, murderous aura flowed from and around the monstrous boar, almost like a living shadow, the shaded figure did not appear to move, nor did it make any attempt to acknowledge the murderous boar’s presence…

Seeing this, the boar’s fury at being ignored quickly overwhelmed its fleeting grasp on its sanity, as the miasma, which had gone from cherry red, to a bloody red, to a blackish-red, was finally consumed by a cloak of obsidian darkness, which fully covered the boar, except for its piercing red eyes, which now came to possess black slits in the middle of its purely crimson eyes!

[Snarrl!!!]

It viciously snarled at the figure, as if demanding it to face toward it, but, again, was met with no response, at which point the rabid beast began its furious charge, as its cloaked form stormed towards the shadowed riverbed!

[Rooooaaaarrrr!!!]

It furiously roared as it quickly closed the distance, both of its blood-colored, reptilian eyes seeming to flare in the clouded night! However, just as the pair of flaming, red eyes had neared the figure, they suddenly vanished, before soon reappearing in front of the river, in the direction that the figure was facing!

[Chomp!!!]

The boar pounced on the figure, ramming it to the ground and revealing its blood-stained fangs as it mindlessly used them to tear the figure apart! It felt the satisfying sensation of its fangs digging into the figure’s supposed limbs, sinking into the solid masses as it gleefully tore them off, one by one!

[Crunch!!!][Crunch!!!][Crunch!!!]

After swiftly ripping off every one of the figure’s appendages, but one, and feeling dissatisfied, even in its mindless state, with the lack of cries from its victim, dug its hooves into the dirt, skidding as it held the figure’s final limb in its powerful jaws! It spun around as it grinded against the earth, and tore off the figure’s final appendage, sending it flying into one of the nearby, narrow trees!

The boar soon came to a stop, facing the limbless figure, as it licked a liquid off its fangs, which was presumably blood, but it wasn’t able to make out the taste, due to the amount of blood already present in its mouth…

It slowly approached him as its figure began to reemerge from the cloak of black miasma, revealing its menacing sneer and vicious glare…
Soon, however, the boar stopped, as the clouds that had been covering the almost completely darkened moon since its arrival, slowly began to drift away, revealing the light of the stars. Even in its instinct-bound state, it couldn’t help but feel gleeful at the sight of the illuminating, celestial formations, as it would now be able to fully view its eviscerated, and defeated foe.

However, once the light finally made its way to the broken remains of the figure, the boar stopped, its eyes widening at the sight that was supposed to have been its victim…

What lay on the ground, pressed up against the thin tree, was leaking a strange substance, and didn’t even appear to be human. Instead, it appeared to be a makeshift dummy, wrapped in an extremely torn vest, which was hot with the scent that the boar had been tracking!
As the boar stood in front of the broken dummy, furious and confused, a strange sound began to emanate from somewhere among the surrounding trees….

[Rustle...Rustle...Rustle]

A quiet shifting of leaves, distinct from that of those blowing in the nighttime wind, now began to sound in the boar’s twitching ears…
