I had to rewrite this chapter.
Like multiple times, because I can't quite get the right words that I want to show up.
REEEEEEEeeee...

Life in a fantasy world was simply...

Breathtaking.

Magic can do everything.
Floating golem that talks and do every tedious task.
Floating airships.
Monsters out there trying to kill you.
Stupid schemes with each person having a goal and pursuit of their own.

Exciting thrilling and yet...
No one understood how lucky they are.
To be born in a world without magic.

Why?
Because never did I ever imagine in my life I would experience things.

Where you can only see in fantasy stories in books and tales even movies.

Where kid's like us.
To be suddenly thrown right into it.
In the middle of a large scale battlefield where a single mistake and we are screwed!

It was something I never wished for!

"THERE'S NO CONTINUE OR SAVE SCUMMING HERE DAMMIT!"

*Crackling Magic Barriers*

*Creaking Wood and Multiple cannon shots from multiple airships.*

And right now...

We are facing giant air war-ships a number of nine of them.
It was not the royal kingdom that sent them.
The flags they carved on their ship was different.

It was different households composed of the nobles of this kingdom who held great power.
Lotte explained there were ships from her competitors.
Turns out they used the anger of the nobles and took advantage of it to aim for her life including ours.

Which was basically her hypothesis the moment we were told to escape.

As they chose to not even speak but instantly fire at our ships.
The moment they revealed themselves from the mist...

As for us? Well...

"Baster, TURN THIS SHIP AROUND!" Tori shouted while aggressively shaking my arm.

Obviusly, my senses went full throttle GET OUT OF HERE.
With Lotte giving us word to flee and sneak away to inform the kingdom of these nobles atrocious deed.

Of course.
We managed to get out of their line of sight but at the distance we see.
lotte's ship under-fire as they held out and tried to flee.
Gazing on their flight.
It seems they are trying to sink towards the island.

Giant airships are slow as heck but their firepower artillery are no joke!
But their barriers are as equally as strong.
With Lotte ship able to sustain the barrages from the distance.

In the story.
There were no way to break those protective shield unless they sacrifice a large amount of energy of your ship forcibly disabling the barriers. To release one powerful magical attack using the ship's power source using an Ark seal built into the airship system.

Fortunately, however only the story ship has it.
Which the protagonist have...
Which unfortunately we still haven't obtained yet.

Though, the reason why most airship in the game got the story ship system.
Is because this kingdom is a douche bag that cunningly deceived the protagonist into forcibly sharing the blue prints of their ship.

Allowing other ships to use it.

It's dumb but that's how the developer added more quest/reason to both piss players off.

Simply forgetting the fact: This was an Otome Game.

No to mention, They were also forcibly have been recruited into the kingdoms power in the process. With a quest to free the other Islands from Infested monsters. This game focused on survival in a cruel world where monsters are super strong with giants of them coming towards their asses.

With your waifu's.

And to be practically honest.
Based on the story for what I recall.
Things are only going to get worse as time progresses, especially next year.]

If I live long enough!

I retorted to Tori as she tug my arm

"What do you mean Turn around!"

"Do you even see the size of those things!
What can this tiny ship do against those numbers!"

"We can't just abandon Lotte there!" she retorted.

"Then what do you want us to do?
Use our pea shooter turrets against those massive things!?"

Tori pause.
She wasn't flinching but her hand was trembling.
What is this girl thinking I wonder?

Her words then changed. "I can do something."

"huh? what can a child like-" When I tried to retort her eyes were showing a glint of sorrow in it.

"Please..."

"Have I not shown enough.
Things beyond what a child can do?"

I swallowed the water on my mouth.
I couldn't retort to her words.

It was then Talie asked her.

"Tori are you sure about this?
You hated participating in these kind of things with a good reason."

However Tori simply went silent as she let go of my arm.

While she asked this question.

We were now a large distance away from Lotte's ship.

We can see and hear the roar of Lotte ship from the side taking the barrage of the enemy warships, we were trying to slip past them from the sides while cloaked by this ship.

I send the commands on the ship as it slowly paused in the air as they slowly advanced.

However there is one fact that I understood while playing the game.
If this cloak breaks.
We are just flies ready to be squashed by their numerous turrets capable of sinking small ships like this.

No Game Over screen is waiting for us.
It's literally Death.

But Tori's magic has never failed once.
She healed a lost arm, created a miracle healing where the ugly story turned into one heck of dark ending for us was flipped into a still bad ending for us!

Even though we tried so hard to fix the blasted piece of work that asshole created in the first place! (Note: yes, he cursed at the author.)

Why does this world feels like it's trying to kill us!?

However...
I was curious.
This curiosity was something that I will later regret.

As I swiftly asked.

"What do you intend to do?"

Tori then said with a frustrated expression.

 "I'll stop them."

Oi? she's just joking right?
How the heck is she going to do that!?

"Are you being serious?" I asked with skepticism in my voice.
But Tori was silently looking at Lotte's ship with a bitter expression.

Pieces of the projectiles fired from their cannon was piercing it and damaging their main ship.
1/6 of their ship was now on fire, even I can't help but feel frustrated and angry.

Lotte after all was our benefactor.
Not to mention, what are we going to tell Nelly and her two friends after this?

"Do you really think.
This is the time for me to be joking?" she retorted with anger.
She made a good point it kind of hurts.

I could only reciprocate and apologize.

"Sorry... " I said to her.

It was at this point where Tori pointed out where she wanted the ship position to be in.
Specifying that our ship needs to be advancing the same way and speed the enemy ship was pursuing Lotte.

It wasn't too hard.
As a person aspiring to be a captain of a skyship.
It wasn't too difficult, though Tori and Talie probably have no idea how this work.

Now, after this.
It is up to them...

...

...

________________________________________________________________________________

After Tori left the room Talie then muttered with a pained expression.

"Knowledge and power is truly such a curse."

Her eyes then sharply turned toward me.
She walked and reached out with her hand.

"Take this.
It's my Shade Shell spell embedded on that."

It was an ark seal.
"Activate it the moment I give the signal.
I also advise you brace for impact"

"Hah?" I was bothered by her words but the serious expression on her face had a serious expression.

"Because...
Tori is about to use war magic.
A kind of magic capable of destroying an army."

Then left the room...
This bothered me, but as I gazed at the window

I saw Tori had already constructed strange glowing circles on where she stood it was like fiction turned into reality.

It wasn't simple.
It wasn't flashy unlike before...
There was a presence.

Different to the power of healing she once unleashed during the incident...
Because of this time...
It was a power that Talie claimed could kill an army.

What kind of magic does that against those giant ships!?
Not to mention our distance is quite far.
Will it even reach it?

However, as time passed by and I did what she had requested.
The ship's stability and path were now aligned to the enemy as they advanced.
We were invisible, but eventually, the energy of the ship is about to wear off.

It was then...
It finally started.
But never did I come to imagine I would see it firsthand.
The surrealism the feeling where she looks like a freaking protagonist in a damn fantasy story.

She first called forth a sphere of fire from the air as it radiated on above her as she floated facing the enemy ships, then a large magic circle the four folds her size was then slowly absorbed by it.

As this continued I glanced at Lotte's ship.
The backside of their ship is destroyed along with their inner hull penetrated by their gunfire.
But their flotation remains constant which means they haven't taken a shot that would sink them yet...

Still, their barriers are not able to deflect the projectiles anymore and could only weaken their impact on their ship as it took damage.

It's only a matter of time before it sinks.

I turn back and gaze at the twins.
Tori was now wrapped in rope as Talie also bounded herself with it.
She was tying her to one of the ship's pipelines and masts.
I could only think.

(Oi? isn't that a bit too much rope?)

I began to feel nervous.
Talie was serious.
Tori was serious.

These twins, they were about to do something ridiculous again...
Then I recalled Talie's words.

"Knowledge and power is truly such a curse."

When I recalled it, It was too late.
What Tori intended to do.
When Talie showed such a pained expression.

I once again had forgotten.

The ones manning those large massive ships are human too?
Aren't they?

The reason why both were showing such faces.
Was because...

They most likely intended to sink them somehow?

________________________________________________________________________________

Talie asked once again.

"Are you really going to do this?"

Tori replied but her words were now trembling.

"Do we have any other choice?" her hand was quivering but she tighten its grip.

"Are we simply going to let them sink and escape with our tails between our legs?"

"The only people who actually helped our family a way to stay afloat in this messed up world!?"

"I refuse!" she cried out.

and in her fury said.

"I refuse to let such graces and good intention fall into deaf silence!
Those ships are nothing more than bandits to fire their weapon without even a second thought!"
I will sink them all down from the skies!"

Tori was serious, but her shaking voice carried guilt and pangs of regret in them.
Talie shook her head and pulled out the spare gauntlet given to us by our benefactor.

Along with the black stones which she kept on reserve.
Normally they came from the broken gauntlets Tori once used...

But due to the stones being dispensable after use, Tori was able to ask Lotte for a numerous amount.

These stones are not only tools to suppress magic.
But can also become a source of power as it absorbed a fracture of the owner's power every time it was used.

To make it simple.
Tori can use the darkened stones to draw in mana using the gauntlets and at this point.

And she infused a set of these in case of emergencies,
Enough of them for the gauntlets could fully hold.

She wore the gauntlets with both hands and had begun to absorb slowly absorb its mana.

As her green hair had begun to glow in blue light along with the markings from her back towards her arms and hands.

Revealing markings of our blessing, the symbol of the spirit lord.

The air had begun to change as swirling winds gathered around her.

During this time...
Baster who saw us from the deck then asked me.

"What the heck is going on in there?"

"Stop being so noisy!" I retorted to him.

I was tying Tori's waist and body with a rope.
Baster grimaced and wonder what was about to happen.
But ignored him.

This attack will be massive and Tori is serious.
I should bound myself as well and add protection to this rope.
Just in case...

Because Tori thus far haven't tested using Grand Magic on the body of a child.
She doesn't know her true limits yet or how far can she use magic.

This task a gamble at best.
I hope it won't kill us.

"If things go awry for Lotte.
She will sink them as long as her eyes can see them."

But Baster then began asking questions.

"How the heck is she suppose to do that!?"

She retorted.

"Why do you think she asked us to fly in this direction instead of running?
Just to wait for us to get captured?

The reason Tori sent us here is because...
What she needs is...

The perfect angle where her attack won't harm Lotte's ship and crew."

Baster then asked. "She... she can do that!?"

"In this distance!?"
his voice became rough with confusion and disbelief.

The range from where lotte and the ship are was quite a distance.
Doubting it wouldn't be strange as what they saw was merely the giant sizes of the airships from afar.

All they could see was the sides of the battleships heading straight for Lotte as they made a turn revealing their front side as they readied their cannons to fire their real weapons.

"You're not serious?
Are you?" when he asked that question.

When he asked this question I shook my head in annoyance.
Baster was in disbelief with his eyes widening open upon hearing her say those words.

As Baster gazed upon them with a pale expression from the captain's deck.
When Baster heard those words his eyes were then glued to Tori while glancing at Lotte ship.
The moment gunfire is heard from the ships as Lotte shield defended itself from the first barrage of their front cannons.

But repeated assault had weakened their defenses.
It was only a matter of time and Tori wasn't wasting any of it as she was already beginning her spell without a hint of hesitation...

They advanced with their front cannons as they altogether moved in one unified force.

It was only a matter of time before Lotte's ship is about to fall.

Even if we did join her, our cannons are not made to fight against those massive things.

Tori on the other hand...
Was doing her best.
With the gauntlet, she held multiple stones in her hand as its color released a bursting blue light.
The gauntlet absorbed its light as it flowed inside of her.

A drop of tear fell from her eyes.
I could vividly imagine what turmoil she is going through.

After all...
This one act.
This means she will massacre a large number of people inside those ships.

Ardent then spoke:
Detecting a massive amount of mana converging in the air.
Analyzing...
...

...

...

Analysis complete.

After analyzing.

Heat is slowly being absorbed from the surroundings.
Air pressure converging.
Temperature slowly rising.

Result: A spell utilizing air combustion and heat.
Danger!
Danger!
Possibility of instability detected.

"Shut up!" I complained to this blasted thing
As I silenced it with my magic.

The Air was converging towards her and it was starting to get cold in here.
I ran towards the corner and got myself some cover.

Because this spell is going to be one big attack.

Meanwhile...
Tori face was twitching and sweating.
A large sphere of heat fire and air converged right in above the airship they rode on.

Light and heat from the sun and surroundings converged into a single sphere.

But after that...
A phrase came out of her mouth as I managed to decipher it.

"Ah...
In end...
Even as a Human.

I became still became a monster. " she mumbled these words.

Then a gigantic magic circle appeared.

I shouted to baster.
"Baster, Use it NOW!"
As I did the same and used my {Shade Shell} while hiding in cover.

She then roared out.

"Why despite all my efforts!
To make this world a better place!" Tears fell from her eyes.

"Why...
WHY is there still...
So much Strife In This World!"

As the convergence of heat and compressed air entered the magic circle it gleamed in a dark color.

She floated in mid-air closer to the circle and touched it.

She then shouted with all her might.

Grand Magic Activate!
Arrow of Decimation!

A huge burning jet black arrow was projected and released towards her intended target.

But...
Tori herself was pushed away by the massive force, throwing her on the opposite side of the deck.

I foresaw this...
As she had already had ropes wrapped tightly around her.
I had most of the rope tied to a metal pole of the ship including myself as it tugged and dragged me to where she was pulled.

But before that, all happened.
I utilized『Shade shell』to prevent myself from being burned but it still broke and burned a part of my shoulders as I groaned in pain.

Thankfully I was in cover being able to avoid the blast.
It pushed the ship they were on as it tilted sideways...

After it ended.
Then I realized a big problem...
The deck was now on fire as it slowly burned off the ropes I made.

I swiftly enhanced the rope I placed to resist the flames.
Which thank god made it in time.
But was then dragged by her weight as I slid on the tilted ship.

"SHIT!"

Panic and Adrenaline came to me.

With my heart palpitating in the face of death.
As I was dragged and gripped on the wooden floor of the ship.
If things weren't bad enough.

A wooden cargo was sliding and falling as it bounced close to my side as it fell off the ship.

I grabbed one of the ropes that were burned to get a better hold unto Tori's body that fell off the ship.

*VVVRRRrrr* The sound of the rope sliding through the wood and metal ship.

With my small hands, I was holding unto it as it slowly slid and burned my hand from the friction.

"Gruuuaaagh!" I was constantly dragged by my sister's weight as the rope relentlessly pulled her down.

Unfortunately, due to the balance of the ship being distorted made things only worse for me!
As I powerlessly slid sideways to the edge of the ship where I prepared my foot lands on the bars railings of the ship.

But it's not REALLY the most comfortable experience.

My feet made contact as I felt weight from it.
Feeling intense pressure on both of my legs.

"Guh- AAAgH..."

________________________________________________________________________________

"Baster, Use it NOW!"

Talie utilized her Ark seal and I immediately did the same.
Then it happened...
One hellish moment that will make me regret that this day.

Was something that a young girl no matter what kind of being is inside them.
Shouldn't have committed.

She fired a single giant arrow.
Its dark shape emanated the manifestation of malice and death on it as it was propelled with a massive force pushing not only the airship but Tori herself in a blaze of glory as it burned even my ship and breaking the very windows of the airship we were in.

The shell shade that I activated protected me from the shards,
but not the backblast as the protective magic was swiftly broken.

Then I was thrown to a wall,
Like a giant had struck me with a wooden trunk of a tree!

As I heard my whole body crash and felt a few of my ribs broke.
Groaning in pain my senses went dull for a short moment as I slowly tried to stand once again.
I saw fire and smoke coming from the deck where Talie and Tori were.

When I realized this fact.
Panic, fear and a rush came to me as I pushed my body to stand and reached out towards the button which activates the maintenance drones.

Hitting with my hand it activates and the sound.

[Fire control protocols activated.]

The ship was tilted sideway from the blast and I placed commands to balance the ship.

As I walked slowly towards the windows to check what happened on the deck.
It was one hell of a mess, part of the ship was torn apart a few boxes of supplies were no longer there.

Smoke was too thick, I'm not sure what happened but then...
I heard Talie's cry.

"Baster! Get your ass over here!
Tori's just fell overboard!"

Desperate cries from the deck,
I can't see her from all this smoke.
Panic came to my head as I decided that...
All that was left was to jump from the windows and hurry to where her voice came from.

*hup!* -> *Thud* *Creak*

"Guah!" in a pained groan the moment I landed.

Successful landing but my ribs ached like hell as I dropped to the ground while coughing.
The sound of my feet and knees fell to the ground while the wooden floor of the ship creaked.

"AGH HURRY! I can't hold on any longer!"

*Cough* *Cough* Blood fell from my mouth as I tried to recover.

"Shit!" I cursed.

As much as I wanted to use the Arkseal {Rejuvination} to heal my current injuries.
The best it could do was heal cuts and bruises.
I was warned to not use it.

Because in a past injury of mine.
Tori severely repremanded me when I was experiencing odd pain in my body.
When in actual fact, the cause of it was my reckless reliance on her spell.

She fixed it but had to forcefully cut me open while numbing the pain using magic.

Turns out the magic used on the Arena which can restore any injury is different from her spell which restores and enhances recovery.

Which is why...
I can't use it and had to endure it.
Ignoring the pain I rushed to where she was...
I charged into the smoke in a rush towards where her voice was echoing.

I got wet from the drones flying and sprinkling the waters to extinguish the flames.

It was then I saw it.

Tori was barely hanging on with her small body as she bounded the ropes on her body as Tori's body dragged her along.

Her foot was on the railings of the deck which fortunately was able to prevent her from falling off.
But her hand was slipping from the water being sprinkled as I swiftly made haste to help her.

"Haaah! Hold it for me!"

When she said those words, she lets go of one hand and placed it on the floor and shadow-like tentacles enwrapped the ropes and began pulling Tori back aboard the ship.

"You can let go now."

"Haah..."

"Holy shit!" I cursed.
I imagined bracing for impact but that was beyond what I expected.

"What the hell was...
Tha-t..."

While I was complaining I leaned and rested on the deck and as the smoke of the fire cleared.
It was then I understood what Tori had done.

"Tell me, I'm dreaming..."

My face paled at the scene as the giant ships that attacked Lotte.

Sank from the skies.

Only 3 ships remained afloat but were heavily damaged from what Tori had done.
Their recent attack on Lotte ship had begun to turn tails and run.

But who wouldn't?

Lotte's ship, on the other hand, had begun to perform its counter attack.

"Oi...
When I heard Tori said.
She will stop them.

I never expected her to sink them all!" I voiced my complaints.

But Talie had a bitter expression.
Her arm was partially burned and she seemed to have been able to avoid the backblast from being thrown off the ship.

It looks like she knew exactly how powerful it would be.

"Tori said, she didn't want Lotte's goodwill.
Simply fall into darkness.
It was her way of repaying her for the things she had done for us."

I retorted to her words. "But to kill this many!
Do you even know how many people are on those ships?"

The total of one warship had at least 500 people in them.
Its size was daunting and most of them are stationed as repairmen, maintenance crew and soldiers. A single ship based on my studies was said to require at least half a year of hard labor to even make a single warship.

It was then she complained.

"Do you intend to just run away and let Lotte's ship sink?
What do you intend to tell Nelly then?" She said with bitterness.

"Tori herself didn't want to do something like this.
Never once in her life has she participated in the war.

Only under special exceptions.
That she would only participate when there was a person in the battlefield strong enough to cause so much destruction that the person is regarded as a calamity itself."

When she said those words I complained and asked.

"Who...
WHO THE HELL ARE YOU TWO EXACTLY!?

Both of you said that you are a ghost.
And Tori is a dragon.

But what kind of work did you two do to perform this kind of power!?"

Talie gaze turned into a bitter sigh.

"I suppose its time to tell you who we really are..."

Then lightly laughed it off a bit.
The tentacles she called forth kept pulling the rope even without my help.
I kept one of my hands on the rope just in case something happened.

It was then Talie said this word.

"Tell me, Baster.
Have you heard of the word Goddess?
Floating in this world?"

It was then I complained.

"You've gotta be shitting me!"

It was on this day I learned a reality,
I should have already expected.
Tori knew too much for a reincarnation of this world.

So much that using magic was like waving her hand like it was nothing.
Despite its insane difficulty and dangers to wield it.

Not to mention her first-hand knowledge on how to heal using magic with an immense knowledge of it.

To be honest.
I should stop adding common sense when it comes to these twins.
I'm just having a headache.

Just thinking about how should we explain this to Lotte.

I'll leave it to the twins to deal with that.
Because even I was kept in the dark.
