Location: Academy Workshop.
Day 7: Sunday.

Rest day.

Meanwhile in a Giant floating island known as the Academy of Havel...

"Good afternoon, everyone.
My name is Ardent."

A floating golem said which is now right in front of us.
It appears the AI within the mech was transferred into a tiny golem.

Talie then was flabbergasted.
『You've-got-to be.. ah... kidding me...』

*Achoo* she sneezes with her nose all runny as she caught a cold due to the incident.
Patched up in a wheelchair Talie cried out to what she was gazing at.
After all, hearing the robotic voice that nearly got her killed would undoubtedly piss anyone off.

Special chapter:
Note:

(*Healing magic may have cured her wounds but broken bones still take a few days to recover.
Illnesses, on the other hand, can only be cured by time and medicine, recovery is hastened by magic but only under certain circumstances.

Tori refrained from using her light magic to cure her injuries,
due to its unnatural potency that their world healing magic can wield.

Not to mention...
She was afraid of drawing more attention with watchers stalking them outside the workshop and within their dorms. Tori recently discovered that Light magic is regarded as a highly desired power by most students in the academy. To the extent that those that are capable of using it are often regarded as doctors and healers of their world.

She didn't want to be named as such that would surely draw in more unwanted questions.

Talie herself felt disappointed yet Tori soon said.

「Give it a week, I'll remove and mend it after that...」

Of course, she agreed.
________________________________________________________________________________

Lotte then said with a cheerful smile.

"Yup, meet your new companion."

Talie was shaking her head while saying...
『No-no-no-no-No-ooo....』

But Lotte was against it, saying.
"Yes-yes-yes-yes-Ye-eees...

The Welt's family was quite intrigued by the AI you picked up and decided to make a multi-purpose golem just for you.

We then jammed it in the latest brand of their Drone."

Nelly who was beside her then said.

"Lucky, Even I wanted one...
but the Welt's family are quite stingy."

Her mother then said.
"Now, now, Nelly...
You and I know full well that,
They already gave you one.

Though, for what I recall you dismantled the darn thing after getting angry at it.
Then reformatted it's AI function into your repurposed multifunctional cannon.

To be practically honest, after you did that.
They became seriously afraid of your talent to the extent.
Mr.Welt was seriously baffled of how you turned one of their golems into a one-dimensional tool.

They were concerned if they gave you another, that you would later turn into a stove or something that would later put them out of business."

But Talie's temper rose instead as she shouted.

『Are you all crazy, this thing nearly got me killed!?』

But Nelly defended it as she said.

"That's not true...."

『What do you mean not true?』

"The reason why it nearly killed you was simply because of your command."

She then turned to Ardent and asked.

"Ardent, why did you use the ejector instead of opening the cockpit, yesterday?"

Ardent then made beeping noise as though it processed the question.
Then it answered.

"Cockpit access was jammed due to ice.
The emergency cockpit ejector was the only option available.
The pilot's state of mind was in panic and confusion.
Danger and life expectation was slowly creeping into dangerous levels.

The success of escape probability rose by 100%.
Life expectancy calculated and rose by 50%.

Hence, the decision was decided automatically."

It then replied with Talie recorded cry within its voicebox.

『Brrr...
Somebody,
SOMEBODY GET ME OUT OF HERE!』

But Talie retorted with an angry expression her hand was forming a dark sphere in her hand.

『Let me Destroy that... ah, thing...』

*A-achooo*she sneezed.

Nelly defended it by grabbing Ardent then shouting at Talie.

"It only tried to protect you!"

『Protecting my ass, haa...*sniff* that thing is clearly mocking me!
Haaa... After it just tried to kill me! *Achooo*』

She deeply sighed with a scornful expression then said to her.

"Machines are more trustworthy than people.
You just don't understand."

She ran with Ardent in her hand.

Lotte then said...

"Well, I'm a bit afraid you will destroy it.
So I'll let Nelly hold unto it for now...

But you are aware of how expensive that thing is?
Isn't your family in a bind right now..."

『Guh!?』

"Not to mention our family is being affected due to my assistance to your family."

『Gah!?』

"At this rate, we need to severe our support to your family's-"

『I GET IT, ARRRGH!
I...
I won't destroy it.』Talie hang her head as she said it.

"Good to see you had a change of heart.
Now then, as for my daughter.

I'll leave it to your discretion."

『u-huh?
I don't quite get it...』

"Her circumstances is rather quite unique.
Please understand that she trust machines way more than the people around her.
So, please don't take her words too personally..."

『I don't really care nor mind about it...
However, I am stuck to a chair thanks to that thing.
So I intend to relax a bit more for no-a... *Achoo*... *Sniff*

For now, until this cold goes away...』

[Not to mention, I had a strange dream.

That I can't seem to remember no matter how hard I tried to recall it.
I could only partially recall smacking a certain being with large feathery wings while feeling extremely satisfied with it...

After that, I can't remember that fleeting moment of joy.
Oh well, I'm sure it's nothing important.]

Meanwhile within the Havel palace.

-The gears of change have begun to turn.-

"Please, young prince.
Reconsider your decision.

If you go to the academy now those who aim for your life would be..."

The young man nods.

"I know, they would be reaching for my neck like before...
But, staying in this castle is just making me look like a coward.

And while idling here, I should be experiencing and learning from the best.
How could I possibly rule my people when I'll become an imbecile at this rate!"

"But this is too dangerous!
They will undoubtedly send assassins after your life!

Surely your private teachers and the soldiers here can teach you properly."

"Teach me properly?
while feeling fear and dread in fear of hurting me?

It's already been three years and all I have learned thus far is merely basic knowledge.

My father has ingrained everyone about me being the lucky favored son yet no one understands how it feels like to be treated like a beautiful piece of artwork that would put their career and lives at risk!

The Academy is said to be a place where nobles and commoners are both accepted by them to become proper explorers and leaders. Where everyone is treated equally.

I prefer to be a part of that and choose to carve my path even while taking the risk!" He said resolutely to his knight.

"Your, you're highness..."

"If they want my neck then I'm willing to become bait.
To eradicate my father and those opposed to my rightful place!

I've already told my father about this circumstance and he agreed to my wishes."

His guard then sighed as he said those words.

[You don't understand it at all your highness.
If something happens to you.

It's my head that's going to roll next!] was what he wanted to say it directly but the decision has already been made.

Tori's Pov:

"And so...
This number of drone pods were increased in the workshop?"

Drone pods, specifically sent by the royal crown themselves.
It was now piled up in the workshop but requires a set up to properly use.

The task given to us is to increase the numbers of these drones called Watchers.
That is constantly floating around the academy.
basically, the first other predecessors of leaders in this kingdom who joined within the academy were the reason there were many of these flying stone eye-balls are constantly stalking everyone in the first place.

"This is dumb," Tori said bluntly with a disappointed look.

Milim covered her mouth as leering number of soldiers were gazing at them as they continue to move more of them into their back shed where the golemic drones are dispersed and recharged every day...

The size of that specific store-house is the size of a factory and more often a junk-yard that was soon moved outside with the assistance of their force.

It was a strange sight to see soldiers working hard but the Arkwright family who owned the workshop was quite happy as they managed to procure his majesties financial support despite the sudden loss of support from the other nobles.

"It's quite favorable like this for Nelly's family," Milim said.

Though, I feel something off about this...
If its only security for the prince why the heck are they sending out this many.

Not to mention these things are consistently stalking us now...

The pods are quite large it's like table furniture with the size of 500cm, where floating golems land on circular spaces as they recharge themselves in it. The pods, in turn, gather energy and battery within the thick mana of the air itself allowing it to endlessly produce power.

[This world undoubtedly contains limitless power through the gathering of mana in the air itself.
It's not surprising it does most of the machines do the chores for them.

Such a shame that not everyone can afford them or perform proper maintenance.
But they do utilize this benefit to keep the air-ship and island afloat if what everything I have learned here thus far is correct.]

however, while both of us were about to lend a hand.
A voice shouted at us from behind.

"You two!?
Why are you still doing here!"

It was a man with light blue hair and his muscular build the wild appearance gives an impression of a skilled craftsman.

”Ah, Uncle..." Milim said.

But after inspecting his hair and stern expression...
He's undoubtedly Nelly's father just by looking at the color completely different from her mother.

"Milim! how many times do I need to tell you?
During Sunday's you are not allowed to be here!"

"But...
But, there's so much work to do!"

"Leave it to the hired staff!
Not to mention you are wasting your precious youth here!

You also won't get extra pay  for doing this!"

「Eh!? we are not!」

"See, even your friend there was shocked.
This day is supposedly when you guys have fun and relax from those sadistic exercises.

Why not go have a picnic together or something."

"That's boring as heck old man."

"Don't call me an old man! I am still in my 20's!"

"That white hair on your head said otherwise anyways." Milim retorts.

"Tch!
And as for you..." his eyes then turned towards me.

"You must be one of that family causing trouble for us."

I felt disturbed by his gaze but he soon sighed and said.

"Must be tough being so young, yet already facing so many problems.
Just don't forget that you're still a child.

Your free to be selfish every once in a while." as he said those words, I felt a bit of warmth.

This man is undoubtedly a good father.
But his expression then went stern as he soon kicked the both of us out of the workshop.

"Seriously, how stubborn and unreasonable," said Milim as we were now idly walking...

I could only gaze away at that moment as I understood a bit of her personality.
She's literally a workaholic who sees work as a form of enjoyment but not others would like it.
[Especially myself...

I've lived one lifetime where I used to work hard in a damn castle where my life is constantly under attack by assassins, idiots and the literary geniuses that actually do something ridiculously dumb enough to somehow kill me in the process.

 Which unfortunately actually did happen...
Such a shame, my old body was perfectly immune to magic.
And yet it was no match against the rule and punishment of the supreme being himself huh.

Aside from the spirit lord that governed the afterlife, there are other beings that bless mortals within this world.

Hopefully, we won't meet any of those assholes anytime soon.]

Was...
 What I had hoped.

...

...

Current Location: Academy park.

The place where students usually go to study in peace.
Lush greenery and the giant tree are all over the place with pathways to follow.
One would think monsters lurk here but its very unlikely due to the field magic in the place.

-It is not advised for students to walk in this place at night alone.-

Was the warning given,
probably because people actually get lost in this place or unwanted things taking place?

Milim and I intended to make a short picnic together.
But...

While walking we soon meet a corpse.

Milim rushes towards the body in worry as the person who was acting as a corpse in the middle of such a peaceful place.

Meanwhile...

I can sense the blessings of the gods within him.
This man was undoubtedly carrying one of such as he exuded radiating color that is dark air around him.

[This blessing is probably the God of the Shadow race.
I used to deal with them as a representative of the Lord of the Afterlife.

Usually, they are cocky or twisted people who took advantage of the power of their blessing and are now irritating assholes. What kind of powers are they are granted?

An absurd amount of talent and bullshit level of power without any kind of effort.
(Even I took a lot of suffering and took a toll to obtain mine!)
but they get it in a silver platter.

How UNFAIR IS THAT!?

Were they reincarnated? More often, Yes.
What happens if they get cocky all because I look like a kid.
I brutally showed them who was boss.

Being impervious to magic was something even their abilities could not defy.
While I can turn them into living rag doll's if I wished.

But...
Sometimes they choose a pure soul,
Hopefully, this is one of such being.

Usually, they are chosen to perform a specific role in the world.
Save the world?
Seal dangerous portals where otherworldly monsters pop out?
And sometimes they are chosen, Heroes.

I recall an annoying hero that was once a huge pain in the ass telling me to become their wife!
No matter how much I beat him up or send him flying straight into a mountain, he keeps coming back.

Shouting nonsense such as "Loli DRAGON WAIFU!"
(Whatever the hell did that mean.)

It was both amazing and disgusting, that I accidentally nearly killed him in the process.

After I was done being a messenger.

I placed a powerful curse on him to be unable to see or detect me no matter how hard he tries.
Seriously, these gods need to choose purer and less problematic beings.
How could they choose someone so utterly hopeless? ]

As I approached Milim who was inspecting him.
I soon realized something abnormal about his situation.
This man is extremely weakened.

I used magic to scan his body for any anomaly but everything about him was weakened.
"Stop, getaway..." he said

"Ah, yes..." Milim who appears to have been hypnotized and did as he said.

I soon found the problem, I temporarily put her to sleep to stop her from moving away.

Why? [Because it's much more efficient that way.]

Then I gazed at the weakened young man who even in his terrible state refuses to let others help him. I removed his shitty glasses and saw a handsome young man that appears to not have any kind of problem.

However this is a lie, I then used magic at this point.

「Dispel.」as the illusionary shadow magic in the air around him disperses.

It was now in plain view.
His darkened eyes and pale skin revealing his condition.

"Shu-shut up... " he mumbled.

「Why am I always dealing with these kinds of problems?」 Tori said with a gloomy expression.

While observing the magic in the air she then concluded.

[No good...
His inner mana is leaking out.

If it continues on like this, Well...
He won't die but it's an awful experience of his body having feeling tired even if he rested.
The odds are someone might just steal his stuff.
(Or probably someone already did.)]

In order to know more, I soon raised two-finger and placed it in his forehead and released a spell...
「Pardon, my intrusion.」I said to him.

As I dove into his thoughts.

「Pardon, my intrusion.」it was my own voice that was repeated once as I entered.

[What?]

「What?」It was echoing clearly.

[Don't tell me, this guy is...]

「Don't tell me, this guy is...」

"SHUT UP!" his voice cried out as it gave me a bit of headache.

I soon released my magic where he mumbled.

"shu-shut up."

「I get it now...
I'll seal it...」

After a few moments, I sealed away his ability to read minds.

Then freely thought.
[This person is undoubtedly a demi-human called mind-eaters.

They don't technically eat minds it's basically what they were called because of their ability to read minds. The demi-humans well known for strategic interrogation and finding truths and lies.

Usually, their race is taught all kinds of languages due to many types of languages this world possesses.

It reminds me of my husband, but he couldn't read my mind since my blood and scales at the time completely negates magical effect including his power.

But this one is different...
He carries the blessing of a representative within this world that governed the shadows in the spiritual realm.

The reason why he is already in this half-dead state.
This is probably due to the fact that his blessing has caused his power to grow too quickly.
Causing him to be unable to properly control it as it grew wildly.

But this is the first time I've seen a race of their bloodline to be so pitiful.]

As I observed his calm expression which soon became a smile.
Milim who was nearby was also knocked out, I then thought.

「Whatever, I guess this spot is good enough... 」

I prepared the picnic blankets and placed the two in it.
As for the food, well I munched on it while relaxing in the shade of the trees.
It was quite a beautiful day and at the same time, it was somehow still troublesome...

But then I remembered to check something just to confirm it.
I push young lad as he rolled and gazed at his backside and checked then there it was neatly tucked in a pocket modified in his garments.

「Yup, it's there alright...」

She smiled as she saw it.
It was a pocket in his pants where demi-humans modified it to hide their external features.
She then pull's it, A thin and long tail that appears to look like a whip.
Then she smelled something displeasing after touching it...

「Gross...let's clean it a bit.」

She made a magic circle and used a spell.

『Purification.』as light came out and cleansed the tail and her hand but somehow she managed to not spread its power to affect the owner.

As for how she felt...

It was soft enough for her hand to enjoy its soft fur as she placed it around her neck and rested on the picnic cover as she snuggled it.
She then thought.

『Purification.』

Originally a spell that I studied to make a universal recovery spell that deals with all kinds of ailments. It's annoying to keep track of all the recovery spells and just made one singular one that heals all of them.

But later I found out that it can also clean my clothes and one's own body somehow.
Removing dirt and toxins that irritate the skins and such I soon realized its efficiency was beyond what I expected it to become that it can also clean nearly anything it affected.

From then on forth, I used it to clean most of the clothes I use.
Talie doesn't seem to like using the spell.

She said odd things like.

"I smell better now, but it doesn't feel refreshing at all." were her complaints.

But I'd have to agree with that...
The cold refreshing water and scent from the soap and shampoo do have a refreshing soothing feel from it.

Though I soon realized it would be quite improper of me.
To carelessly play with his tail while he slept and returned to eating food she prepared.

Update's are slow cus, I'm slacking off and having a Merry Christmas.
