Though the news of his uncle’s sudden decline in health was bad it had helped Alec save himself from an unwanted situation. His father and mother planned to visit his house and surprise him since they had not met with him for almost three years now. The moment they got the news about Alec’s uncle’s health they cancelled their tickets and made arrangements to visit his uncle.

If not for that then Alec would have to face the situation he was constantly trying to run away from even in his own mind.

The sound of hurried footsteps along the lightly lit alley alerted the rodents as they swiftly moved away to save themselves from getting crushed. Their eyes reflected a woman with scarlet brown hair with an anxious expression on her face running as if her life was on the line. Two brawny men soon followed her.

The woman had her heart almost breaking out of her chest due to the current situation she was caught in. The men were after her and she knew that once they got their hands on her, she won’t be having a good end. These were the only thoughts that kept her running until now. She had broken past her limit by now but the fear gave her the power she needed to continue on running.

Unfortunately for her, her body gave up on her before her mind could as she lost the strength in her legs and ended up falling right down on the ground. She could feel her mind going numb as she heard the footsteps of the men behind her stopping.

She gnashed her teeth to resist the urge to cry out because of the deep abrasion she got on her knees as a result of the fall and tried getting up quickly again only for her to be pulled by her hair and dragged towards the wall.

She soon found herself surrounded by the two brawny men whose faces had a clear expression of lust in them. Just when she was about to lose all her hope, she heard a loud noise that rattled her eardrums which was followed by another ear-rattling sound. The sound was so loud as she unconsciously closed her eyes the moment, she heard it.

When her eyes opened, she saw the two brawny men falling down on the ground while clutching their chests. Looking past the fallen bodies she saw a man who was holding a gun in his hand. He soon ran towards her and asked her if she was injured heavily or not.

Looking at the way he was staring at her with eyes full of worry and warmth made her heart lower its guard as the image of the man in front of her eyes slowly started crumbling which was followed by her surroundings which finally acted as the trigger to wake her up.

Gasping for air Jenifer looked around her room. Her head was drenched in sweat thanks to the most realistic dream she ever had in her life. She recalled the hair-raising experience she experienced just now in her dream and couldn’t help but take a sigh finally realizing that it was all a dream.

Even though it was a dream she couldn’t help but remember the face of the person who ended up saving her at the end of her dream. It was Alec, her work partner. It was only a few hours back when she was angry at him for taking advantage of her and planned to make him lose his job but now after this event, she changed her mind.

Even though it didn’t make sense she felt that making things difficult for Alec would not be good for her. Another reason was also that she subconsciously developed a good impression of him in her mind because of his saving her in that dream of hers.

Alec after waking up the next day remembered what happened yesterday night and couldn’t help but once again curse the system before getting ready for work. He knew that he couldn’t rely on this system's reward and decided to go and apologize profusely to Jenifer again if something happens.

He was a bit early today and was lucky enough to get a seat at the metro station thanks to it. His train would arrive in a few minutes so he decided to use that time efficiently by scrolling through a bunch of funny reels on his phone.

Not a long while passed as more people slowly started coming on the platform as the time for the next train’s arrival was coming near. A woman dressed in a black long jacket walked towards him and found the seat next to him empty sat near him. The woman had long slender legs that would make any man want to grab them and test their suppleness. It was only a pity that the rest of her body was covered with her jacket.

What was even worse was the fact that she had covered her face with a mask and sunglasses. From the gaps between her clothes, Alec could clearly see her spotless skin and couldn’t help but think that she must be a great beauty.

The woman didn’t notice Alec’s lingering gaze over her body as she was more focused on her phone. Taking a deep breath she seemed to have made a decision as she dialled a number on her phone and brought it close to her ears.

After a series of ringing the phone was finally picked up. “Any news about the flight…?” a gentle worried voice escaped the woman’s mouth leaving Alec in a daze. The voice at the other end of the phone soon replied hearing the woman’s words “None, young miss but-“ the woman cut the phone off in between not waiting for the man to continue.

Alec was soon brought out of his stupor by the sudden appearance of the system panel in front of his eyes.
