Strolling around the market looking for some cheap food I encounter some wanted posters plastered on the walls. Though I had seen them previously too these posters have changed now. More specifically the picture used has been changed

The earlier iteration of the wanted posters had somewhat of a charitable depiction of the princess and my previous's face, there was nice lightning, smiling, and clear faces but now that picture had changed to something more sinister looking. Making both of us look like some heinous criminals on loose.

They have already started warping the general public's perception of the two of us

[I heard that the first princess participated in infidelity and ran away with her secret lover]

[The first princess destroyed the most expensive jewels in the castle and ran away]

[The maid with her turned out to be of demon race and she ensnared the princess to join their side]

One after another a new more wild story circulated the public, but even though the royalty were trying their best to turn people against us, the animosity they had towards the upper class was also not shallow. Most of the time overshadowing their generated hate for us

As I buy some bread from the vendor, he starts to vent his frustrations

[Those scumbag nobles, getting all high and mighty with their retarded magic]

yep, he was angry

[Yeah, you are right about that mister] I indulge him to see more about the general perception of the normal everyday working man on the whole system set up in this part of the world

[Right? Like last week I had to bring my son to the healer and that bastard asked so much for such a basic treatment]

[That's so scummy of him!]

[Tell me about it!! like he only had to chant one smell, like it's not even  5 minutes of work and he asked me for an entire year of my fortune. GAAAHH!! Just thinking about it makes me, makes me, GHHHH!!!]

[I know mister, I know...so what did you do then? pay that snake?]

[hmph! of course not! my family wouldn't be able to survive if I did that]

[then what? how did you get your son treated?]

[...mmm, it's a bit complicated, but you seem like a nice person little sister, so why not! come closer]

[hmm?] I bring my ear close to his face as I pay him with the few remaining money I have left from the robbery/murder

[There's this herbalist lady who's been helping us commoners get treatment for fairly cheap around here]

[ohhh, when did she appear?]

[I don't know about that but someone also just told me about her like this]

[I see...but if she's so well known then why haven't I seen her shop around here?]

[eh? Alchemy and herbal crafts are banned in the entire continent, how did you not know that? Wait are you with the-]

[huh? nah nah nah. I just come from a very secluded place, we only learn about fighting their and all this kinda stuff by exploring the world]

[Is that so? interesting, never heard of such a place before in my life...]

[Well you know, if everybody knew then it wouldn't be "secluded" you know]

[oh oh, yeah true, I'm sorry]

[It's alright, so back on topic, where is this benevolent herbalist? I had an upset stomach for the last few days, I would also like to get some actually affordable medicine]

[Ah of course, of course. In the housing district, walk till the end, from there go back and enter the fifth alley to your left, from there the sixth house belongs to the herbalist. There's always a black cat outside her door, so it should be easy to identify]

[I see, all right, thank you for directions, mister]

[naahh, it's alright Miss, Oh yes!! by the way, don't forget to tell her that I sent you]

[hmm? why?]

[Well you may not believe it but for every potential patent we bring to her, she gives a little discount on the next check-up, ain't that great!]

[....wait a second...hmmmm, just out of sheer curiosity, what was your son's problem?]

[oh, he had severe fever]

[and has it been...you know, cured yet?]

[She gave us some pills and asked to take it everyday after a meal, in a week's time, he would be all cured]

[any progress then?]

[well, a little, but yes!]

[Does she cure broken legs and stuff like that?]

[No, for now only things like bad stomach, cold, fever, headache, and things like that, but she says she is very hard at work to create pills for those conditions as well!]

[One last question, do you also get some money for bringing in more patients?]

[huh? how did you know sister? Of course, for every 10th customer I bring, she gives a little bit of her earned money to me]

[uhuh...]

It seems like I need to meet this so called herbalist rather quickly, she seems to be my ticket to start earning some money in this city.

So even this world has its MLM scammers running around.
