Opening up my eyes, I found myself in the van we used for our visits to haunted sites.  I never knew why the school just let the club have that beast or even allowed them to paint it purple. How the club president got the school committee to agree to his requests was beyond me.

 

 

“Are we there yet?” I asked

 

“Yes, it is just around the corner.”

 

Looking out the window, I saw something I never wanted to see again. Right in front of me was the dilapidated hotel I died in.

 

 

Before I could protest or do anything, the windows and door burst with a loud crash releasing a tidal wave of blood towards us.

 

*eeyaaa!!!!*

 

Trembling and hugging my new tail for comfort, I examined my surroundings.

 

"An unfamiliar ceiling." I whispered aloud. 'Couldn't help myself with the cliché situation.' The room looked expensive with a black theme going on, and I couldn't help but deadpan when I saw the HD painting of the fox on the wall behind my new bed.

 

 

"Seriously?" I could just imagine that goddess giggling with her practical joke.  Noticing a letter on the black night stand by my bed, I reached out and opened it up.

Teehee, I should probably get to the point and give you the information that you will need about yourself. Surprise surprise, your requests have been granted.

 

For your first request to have an ability to escape from any situation, you have been granted teleportation. You can only teleport to locations that you have been or within line of sight. You can teleport objects and people only if you are touching them or vise versa or an army as long as they are linked touching each other in a chain to you. As this is your ability, if you do not will it, if someone touches you while you are teleporting, you don't have to worry about them being brought with you.

 

Your second request was to not get hurt. Taking that to the extreme, you have been granted absolute defense. That ability is exactly as it sounds. Nothing will be able to hurt you, your mind, or your soul anymore as long as you don't allow it.

 

Your final request was to be able to hide from danger. Since that request was open ended, you ended up getting a divinity of darkness. Basically anything you can think of with darkness as a medium can be accomplished, whether it is attacks, defense, storage, or even healing. Just keep in mind that darkness can be misunderstood in the world you are in, so you might have to deal with some prejudice. You have been warned.

 

Right now you might be thinking, 'Why do these abilities seem so overpowered?'

 

I couldn't help but nod.

Once I got that out of my system, I continued reading the letter.

 

Anyways, the rest of your compensation package will be explained. Your property is secluded like you have asked. You have the rights for Turnaround Forest by city V. The forest has its own natural defenses that will not affect you due to your abilities. People who enter these dark woods will be teleported randomly around the forest by the roaming mist until they are exhausted before being spit back out. No one will be able to reach your cabin unless you guide them. To others, the cabin might seem haunted due to the gloomy atmosphere of the forest.

 

 

Your new ID and identification papers are in your desk drawer. You have a week's worth of food stocked up and infinite money in your bank account. Ka-ching, you're now rich!! Anything else can be researched on that high end laptop.

It took me a couple of hours to reboot. 'Okaaay. That happened.' Exhausted, but thinking it important, I decided to check my identity before going to sleep again. Heading over to my desk drawer, I grabbed the wallet, checked my ID, and deadpanned again. 'At least my first name is still the same.'

 

It read, Nadia Cordelia Vulpine.

 

That was all the chaos I could handle for the day. Being overwhelmed, I promptly decided I have had enough and went back to my bed, curled up, and fell asleep.
