It'd been 2 years since Daichi had been kicked out of his parents lives and he could confidently say he was happy, truthfully he was happy one and a half years ago when Amanda had proven that she had come for them. But now, at six he was happy in just about every way, he no longer thought of his parents beyond the letters they sent him on his birthday and Christmas. He'd stopped trying stupid and ridiculous methods to activate his quirk, he hadn't given up, but he would no longer quack like a duck. On top of emotionally, Daichi was physically and mentally as good as he'd ever been. A healthy consistent diet and multiple exercises kept him amazingly healthy for a child his age, plus his schooling had gotten more and more advanced, already he was moving up to three digit multiplications and divisions. Daichi and Andreas had been writing short stories and posting them online, they weren't immensely popular, but that didn't matter to the two of them, they just enjoyed the practice. Yuno's school work was still Daichi's favorite, he absolutely loved learning about history and culture from all over the world, specifically stuff from pre-quirk era. 

For the day after his sixth birthday ( which he did nothing to celebrate other than eat a cake and hang out with Amanda and his three teachers for a few hours) Daichi was given homework to write a report on pre-quirk era Japanese anime and how it shaped what was watched in the modern era.  Already he'd written how the animation had evolved, then the changes in what's popular, he was about to start writing a paragraph on the differences between " publishing then and now " when he came across an anime recommendation. 

The anime was pre-quirk series that had twenty full episodes, apparently it wasn't to popular back in the day, but it was one of the few pre-quirk anime to be completely recorded and accessible. The anime was about an angel and demon who watched over Earth and they each tried to influence it in good and evil. The anime itself, despite not being popular, had a small cult following because of how it discussed morality in the pre-quirk era youth and how many of them were becoming antisocial sociopaths who found enjoyment in the suffering of others online. In the end, the angel and demon, each the last of their race have a final fight where they both die leaving the world to it's own evolution.

Daichi, having not watched many pre-quirk anime decided to go ahead and watch this one since it sounded interesting. 

" Amanda! Come watch this anime with me. " 

" Coming, coming. "

When she said that the 20 year old blonde beauty came out of her room wearing a maid outfit. The outfit was a gag gift that Daichi had gotten her for her birthday, Amanda ended up surprising Daichi by embracing the joke and wearing the outfit when she was doing her limited cleaning activities. Not that Daichi complained, he liked how when she bent over he could sometimes see her panties. 

Amanda had changed considerably since 1 and a half years ago, she was considerably slimmer, about a year before, her weight gain had gotten fairly extreme, and she was having a lot of trouble in her day to day life. So Daichi forced her to start exercising with him, not only that but the two of them started dieting a little as well. One year later, and Amanda was back to her slightly chubby, peak sexy self.

Daichi and Amanda settled together on the couch in front of the TV in a classic cuddle pose, though poor tiny Daichi took over the place generally taken by the female. The two binged three episodes and were about to settle for a fourth when out of nowhere Daichi felt an extreme pain originating from his back. 

All of a sudden he fell to the floor in agony, rolling around to try and stint the pain. 

" DAICHI‽DAICHI‽ "

Amanda had her arms around Daichi seconds after he fell to the floor, she cradled his body against hers. She tried to soothe him by brushing petting his head, but Daichi's pain was to intense for a six year old to handle. He felt like he had knives ripping though the skin of his back. The pain was more than enough for Daichi to start crying. 

Eventually, unfortunately, the pain in Daichi's back lessened, but it moved on to cover his entire body; from head to toe Daichi felt like he was on fire. From Amanda's view, Daichi was covered in a white halo of light that looked to have shape similar to fire, though she herself felt no heat. Instead it actually caused her comfort, if Daichi wasn't still crying Amanda might of fallen asleep.

Poor pitiful Andrew had to deal with a level of pain he'd never felt before for a full hour. When the pain finally passed Daichi immediately passed out, luckily during the time that he'd been dealing with pain Amanda had called Yuno, Kaito, and Andreas to tell them what happened. She'd also called a quirk doctor, first, to see if Daichi's pain was a result of his awakening or to see if perhaps it was the result of an attack from a quirk. 

It took over 30 minutes for the teachers to arrive and 40 for the doctor to get there. When the doctor got there he immediately went to work examining Daichi with the limited tools he had brought. He first checked Daichi's breathing and heart for any abnormalities, after that he felt Daichi's back to find if anything was wrong, the doctor felt to protrusions on either side of Daichi's back between his shoulder blades. 

" Alright, mam, your charge seems to be alright. I believe the pain he was feeling as well as the light were a result of his quirk awakening, some evidence to support this is the protrusions I felt on his back. "

" Is it normal for him to have felt so much pain, or to have awakened so late, I mean he is six. "

" It isn't unheard of for children with mutant type quirks to have painful awakenings, and late bloomers are actually surprisingly common. Especially for children with quirks that require a certain level of body fitness, though in those cases they usually awaken even later. "

While Amanda was trying to absorb that information Yuno stepped in to ask some questions. 

" What about the light, I've never heard of that happening with a mutant awakening. "

" Well, that's where it gets kind of weird, I personally don't have experience with dual type quirks, however it isn't unheard of for a single quirk to posses both emitter and mutant aspects, these are often called transformation types quirks. I think your charges quirk is one of this type. "

Yuno nodded her head at the information, which seemed to make her contemplate the information. Amanda decided to step back into the conversation. 

" So what should we do in regards to Daichi? "

" My advice would be to let him sleep for now, when he wakes up, if he is still experiencing pain transport him to a hospital as quickly as possible. "

Andre and Kaito who had been laying Daichi back down into his bed stepped back into the room.

" Thank you doctor for all your help. You've really helped quell our worries. "

" My pleasure Mr. Black. " 

After that the doctor left Daichi in the care of his teachers and Amanda. Around 20 minutes later Kaito and Andreas left seeing that Daichi wasn't going to be waking up anytime soon. Yuno offered to stay so that Amanda and Daichi had a car if he was still feeling pain when he woke up.

When Daichi woke up he felt amazing, like he was floating on a cloud. When he tried to remember what was happening before he passed out he instantly recalled the agony he'd felt from his back. He was happy that he was feeling better and thought back to all of the information he'd read about quirk awakenings. He instantly connected his pain to awakening his quirk, when he stretched his hands behind his back and felt the protrusions on his back he decided on a mutant type quirk. 

Daichi started to concentrate on trying to remember his awakening his head. According to many articles he'd read online people will generally get an innate knowledge put into their mind when they awaken their quirks. Things like how to activate it, what it does, obscure yet vital information. More specialized information requires personal testing. ¹ I never really understood how people could discover their quirks unless they had am instinctive knowledge about it. Like Momo Yaoyorozu, I seriously doubt she just accidentally discovered she could copy anything she knew the chemical makeup of. I'm not sure if it was ever explained in the anime or manga, but I'll admit I haven't read/watched either. I did try reading the manga when it first came out, but I just wasn't into it. Now-a-days I really like Mha fanfiction, but I'm still not a fan of the cannon story.

It took only a minute or two for Daichi to understand how his quirk works. Basically, his quirk copies abilities from pre-quirk era anime, he has no limits to the amount he can copy, but in order to copy another he needs to be able to master his previous ability. He can also only copy one ability per anime. He needs to watch at least three episodes to get an ability. Daichi was extremely surprised from the information in his head, not because he wasn't expecting the information itself, he just wasn't expecting the fact that he'd already copied an ability before. Something called Reincarnation. Apparently he'd watched an anime where one of the characters was reincarnated, the power Daichi had copied gave him advanced knowledge of certain things, that's why he knew about sex and was so good at math. Hell it could even explain his interest in history and various cultures. 

According to his innate knowledge, Daichi had only just mastered his reincarnation knowledge power when he did a middle school level math test and aced it. Apparently the fact that he was as smart as someone twice his age was good enough for his quirk to consider his ability mastered. ² Honestly I added this part in for convenience sake, I wasn't confident in consistently writing a realistic four year old. I'm immature enough that I think I can handle a twelve year old. 

The second ability he awoke was called Arch-Angel. It was a power copied from the angel in the anime he watched. The first aspect of the ability was it gave him wings, which was the pain he'd had in his back. The second was that it slightly changed his appearance, which was the full body pain. In order for Daichi to have mastered his quirk he needs to grow two other sets of wings. 

Daichi was so excited that he'd finally awakened his quirk that he ran out of his room in search of Amanda, he'd found her sitting with Yuno on the couch. Before either of them women could react he tackled them with a hug. 

" AMANDA! I awakened my quirk! "

" YAAYYY! Ooo I'm so proud! "

" Congratulations Daichi, I'm so happy you finally awakened your quirk. "

While Yuno was giving Daichi her own hug Amanda had stood up. 

" You know what this means right Daichi? "

" No. What? "

" This means . . . CELEBRATION! " 

" Does that mean? " 

" Yep, but later, for now we'll have a big dinner. "

" Sweet! "

Yuno was confused about what special celebration they were talking about, but she figured it was personal and would be rude to ask. 

" Ms. Yuno, are you going to be joining us? "

" If you'll have me then of course, I'd love to join you. "

" Sweet! I'm going to dining with to beautiful ladies. "

Daichi's cheeky smile was ruined when Yuno inched his cheek and called him a "perverted brat". 

Daichi smiled again and couldn't help saying. " Lucky brat more like it. "

Daichi, Amanda, and Yuno all worked together to create a big dinner of American and Japanese food. Most of the fun came from the actual cooking than the eating itself, had they been in an anime it would of been a perfect slice of life scene. 

When they all finished eating Daichi and the two women were laying on couch watching some anime. They all looked tired, like they wanted a nap.

" Alright you two, I'm going to head home. If anything happens make sure you call me alright. " 

"" Yes mam/ We will Yuno. ""

The two sent off Yuno. Once she left they both went back inside and changed clothes. Amanda who had been wearing casual jeans and a t-shirt changed into a tight turtleneck sweater and mom jeans. Daichi changed into a pair of shorts and a t-shirt. After that they went outside and walked towards Daichis usual brood spot. Once they reached the spot Daichi leaned over the edge and spotted a two foot ledge around 7 feet below the edge of the cliff, there was a rope ladder leaning down. 

Daichi extended his hand to help Amanda onto the ladder, she smiled at him and then climbed down. Daichi climbed down right after her. 

Once on the ledge Daichi and Amanda were at the entrance to a cave. This cave was something Daichi had discovered a year ago, it had had a bunch of really old books in it. According to what he'd read from one of the books, it was a Shinrin family journal, matter of fact it was a book made by the progenitor of the Shinrin family. Akira Shinrin was one of the first quirk users, he had been part of a wealthy family. When he awakened his quirk to grow trees quickly however, the family banished him out and put him up for adoption. Akira went on to start his own lumber business and founded the Shinrin family. Apparently the house Daichi currently lives in belonged to Akira, there is no reason listed in the journals as to why Akira had a cave full of books and journals, Daichi just assumed it was due to him having a flair for the dramatic. 

Anyway, once Daichi had discovered the cave he'd decided to make it his own, he'd moved various items down there including, beds, workout equipment, more books. It quickly became Daichi's favorite spot to hang out and relax, however, Amanda wasn't comfortable letting him down there so she limited his access. Daichi had of course learned his lesson about worrying her and followed her rules. 

The reason Daichi was so excited to come down to the cave was so that he could finish reading a particularly interesting book from Akira's collection. What was so interesting about it was that it was erotica, Amanda of course didn't know about that. 

The buxom blonde and young boy read late into the night.

When Daichi woke up he was laying in a sleeping bag that'd he'd put into his cave for when he'd have late nights reading.

Cuddled up with him in the same sleeping bag was Amanda, the young woman was passed out and snoring, she probably stayed up quite a bit later than Daichi had. Daichi, since he was warm and comfortable squished up against Amanda, decided to just relax and let her sleep. That lasted about ten minutes before he got super bored, his boredom lasted about five before he started doing something about it. 

Poor Amanda was woken up from a deep sleep by an unfamiliar young child trying to struggle from her grasp. Amanda naturally shot awake and jumped up. 

" Who are you‽ "

The young boy looked at her confused. 

" Amanda, it's me. "

When the woman didn't seem to react the little boy stood. 

"  . . . Daichi? "

" No way, you don't even look like Daichi. Now who are you‽ "

" Amanda please, it's me I promise. "

At that point the young boy was starting to tear up. Amanda like most adults felt some pity for the child and she decided to let up a little.

" Alright, if you are Daichi, then name something only he and I know. "

" . . . You once woke up to me sniffing your armpit. " 

Amanda blushed and untensed herself, she then examined Daichi in detail. His previously blondish red hair was now a bright red, like fire, his hair which had previously been straight as a nail was now wavy and feminine. His skin which had been a sickly pale was now like porcelain, healthy and even. His eyes which were once a deep black were now steel grey like actual metal, they weren't far off from Amanda's actually. He was also taller with slightly broader shoulders, obviously he's only 6 so he wasn't that big, but still. 

" Let's go back up so you can look in a mirror you look way different. "

" Sure, let's go. " 

Naturally Daichi was curious about what he looked like so he was eager to go up.

Calling Daichi surprised once he saw his appearance would of been an understatement, considering the makeup of his entire body changed into some other form after a single night of sleep. Daichi pretty quickly connects his change to his quirk and soon starts concentrating on his innate quirk knowledge, and surprise surprise his Arch-Angel ability had indeed changed his appearance to be similar to that of the person he got the power from. Apparently the same had happened when he'd gotten his Reincarnation power as well, but their appearances were so similar they were basically unnoticeable.

" Okay, so my appearance change is a result of my quirk. " 

Daichi then went onto explain his quirk to Amanda and how it works. 

" Wow, that it . . . powerful, "

" It can be powerful, however we have no idea how difficult it could be to actually master my abilities. I have to somehow grow four more wings before I " mastered " my ability and only after that will I be able to get another ability. "

" True . . . I guess this means we can finally up your training like you've been wanting to. With your Arch-Angel ability your body should be able to handle more stressful exercises. "

" I'm looking forward to it. "

Author's Note - I couldn't think of a good way to in depth explain Daichi's Quirk and Abilities so I'll do it here. 

• Daichi is able to copy a single ability/power from from any pre-quirk era anime. (There is no special reason for this other than the fact I could easily come up and make a Godly character. This way I can restrain myself instead of going for some ridiculously over powered character.)
• One power/ ability from each anime.
• In order to get a new power he has to master the previous, each ability will have a given mission required to master it. There are three levels of mastery. 1st level is when Daichi first gets the quirk, 2nd level is mastery, 3rd level is perfection, perfection drastically powers up the power. 
• Each ability will change Daichi's appearance at least a little bit.
• I will be using actual anime for his powers from now on, I actually have the next two powers decided upon. They aren't ridiculously over powered but they won't be weak.
