Early morning I went to the merchant house to buy some everyday necessities, after that I went to the butcher to buy ingredients for dinner.
Scrambling the soil, planting seeds, digging hole, setting wire, watering the field, chopping trees, splitting them, and then burying them on an angle.

Yesterday sure is exhausting, I can't believe I finished all that in a single day. Looks like my everyday training payed off. If I started it in my previous world I wouldn't be exhausted every time I climbed the stairs to my apartment.

I didn't have enough power to create a bath last night and I didn't want to dirty my new bed, in the end I slept inside the barn. I should probably buy a giant water vase or are they called jugs? I also need to buy some whetstone. My shopping list for today is whetstone and big juggs. Pfft, hahaha I wonder if this joke is invented yet in this world.

I recovered enough mana to do this mornings watering.

*splaaaaaaaaaaaaaaasssssssshhhhh*

Unlike earth magic, water magic is easier since it doesn't have a fixed form. In all of the magic available earth has been the harder to use. Next is its evolved form metal. It's also lighter than the soil so I expend less mana. The source is a bit far though and I have to be careful not to include the frog eggs. Wait maybe its ok to include it since the eggs will dry exposed to the sun and ultimately becomes fertilizer for my field? I'll ask next time from the butcher in case their slime has some kind of poison.

I should check the traps just in case something went through and got caught. Maybe I can ask the butcher to prepare it while I shop for the whetstone and jugs.

Nothing, huh. I don't really want to go back and forth to the town everyday so I might as well hunt some bear and have it butchered. It should last me at least 3-5 days if I cooked it properly and keep it in the cooler the carpenters built underground. There is no such thing as a refrigerator in this world unless you know ice magic so the best we normal people can do is digging a bit deep into the earth where its cool and protect it from outside heat. You need to properly clean it form time to time though unless you want mold to start growing.

Time for a little trip up north.

Again, slowly, gently while minimizing my noise. A surprise attack against a bear is preferable. The longer I fight the larger the chances of me injuring myself. I didn't explore this area before because only animals are here but I should take some time to check this place out so I know which way I need to go if I wanted meat.

The places where its most likely to be are the river or caves so I should check those area first.

There it is, near the river probably trying to catch some fishes or get a drink? No matter which it is, its eyesight is focused below to notice behind it. How should I handle this? The hide, fur and thick meat would make arrows ineffective. I can handle it even if I charge in but it would take time and the chances of it scratching me all over is high. I don't want to buy another set of clothes because of an over inflated ego from suddenly getting stronger and being able to use magic, ah no magic since I need to save it to make the earth wall and the afternoon field shower.

Using my steel wire tied to a piece of wood then throwing it to a somewhat thick branch making a makeshift rope hook, a short one that reaches the ground is enough. Then using it to swing just above the bear and using that momentum to stab the head with a short sword. My momentum + weight to pierce the skull and killing it in one blow.

*swish* *stab* *bang*

Thats how to silently and cleanly kill off a target with a sneak attack. Not to waste the preparation I tie the end of the steel wire I used to swing on the back paw of the bear and using the tension created from the heavy body I will use it to climb to the part where its hooked and pull on it with all my might to hoist up the bear finishing it by tying the wire to the tree, while wearing steel wire handling gloves of course. This way I can drain the blood of the bear. That is how a butler must work during hunting parties with the princess, swift, clean and with a bit of flair.

The blood is almost done now. I need to deliver this to the butchers place before it spoils. I can carry up to 900kg now and this bear seem to weight around 500kg but showing off my strength is never a good thing I will use the wheelbarrow for my trip to town. [Butler] is a nice job gives a passive in strength and agility as modified by the hero. Though the true worth of the [Butler] class and job combo is shown by having someone to serve.

"Excuse me, can you process this bear you can keep the pelt, head and organs. The price was 10 silver right?"
"Oh, tank ya fr the busness!! I'll have it redy this aftrnoon."
"Thanks"

Now I just need the whetstone and jugs.

The merchant house is as noisy as always.
"Did you hear, the hero's son seemed to be ambushed by assassins. I heard he is in a critical condition and had to return to the castle."
"Isn't that bad. The prince is the biggest deterrence left after the hero king died."
"I know, It has been too peaceful since the heroes continued their rule over the hero kingdom. With no new hero in sight, this might be the prelude to war."
"It won't happen soon. The prince is still alive after all. The princess is progressing in her magic studies too. Apparently she has enough power to outmatch five royal mages now. As expected of the hero's children."
"As merchants its better to be prepared though. I heard there are already some stocking up on provisions and weapons."
"This is a problem for us. We mainly deal with artworks and luxury products. If we switch goods now won't the others team up to finish us off."
"No problem if we team up we can buy small amount from remote places and save it up when the war starts. It might take long but this way we won't get noticed. If we want to make a profit we have to start now or else we won't have enough saved up when war starts. so want to team up?"
"As long as there is a contracts."
"Of course, we are merchants after all."

They are whispering in a very quiet voice but don't underestimate the [Butler] job I have a passive for eavesdropping like all house servants do. Too bad the princess' bathroom has sound insulation barrier installed, if it didn't maybe I could have awakened echolocation.
However, the topic sounds dangerous. It has nothing to do with me though. This village can survive without outside help and once my harvest becomes steady I can also survive by myself. This location is far from the trade routes and far from strategic spots. This village does produce a lot of crops but the capital has the prison farm and there are also a lot of villages like this one. This village is also near a monster forest so that should dissuade people from dragging this place into war.

I don't have to worry about it. Just in case I should buy some extra weapons now too. The weapon section is right in middle huh.

"Weapon uncle, how much for a couple of whetstone, a long sword and 2 dozen daggers cost?"
"27 gold coins"
"Here"

*guh*

What a rough uncle. To think he would throw it at me like that. A no nonsense merchant huh. He does deal with weapons so a straight function over decoration merchant is best. However my retirement fund is almost gone, I have roughly 30+ gold coins left. I still have to buy jugs, I hope harvest season comes soon or I would run out of money which would make me run out of food.

The clay store is near the old man who sells kitchen tools huh.

"Excuse me, I would like some Big Jugs!"
"Some water pot huh? How many and how big do you want?"

So they are called water pots. The merchant didn't even get my joke.

"Four of the biggest ones please."
"One for 8 gold coins."
"8 gold coins, how expensive."
"We have the plain ones for 2 gold coins."
"Then I will have the four of the plain ones please."

How carefree, is business that lax to have this storekeeper? He can't be the owner right? I almost lost all my money there.

Time to go home, I have to collect the meat at the butchers place then go home. I wonder if they would all fit in my wheelbarrow. Probably not, I should drop off the pots home first then come back for the meat later.
