Description:
The Summoner class is a branched off class from the Tamer class. While keeping the former class' powers to tame monsters, it focuses more on summoning monsters to do the class-holder's bidding with a temporal contract.
The class is dependent on the [Summoning] magic skill, to a point where almost all the rewards for leveling up the class are summoning spells for specific monsters that has some relationship with the summoner. Any Tamer-class holder can learn the [Summoning] skill, but only a Summoner can use it to its full potential.
Unlike the Tamer class, where the ability to tame monsters comes from the [Tamer's Command] skill, the ability to make monsters do the summoner's bidding is an ability directly connected to the Summoner class. One can still use free slots of the [Tamer's Command] skill to make the temporal contract. This also works for similar Tamer-skills.
When first received, the class allows the summoner to command 6 monsters, and it gains an additional slot for each fivefold and tenfold level, meaning that a Summoner at LV50 can command 16 monsters1The original 6 + the 10 extras obtained from leveling the skill. without the help from any other powers.
Note that the summoned monsters will not receive the EXP they have earned until the summoning has ended, they cannot learn new skills during the summoning, and titles and Blessings will only be given to them after they have been un-summoned. Needless to say, they cannot evolve either.
The summonings possible to learn with the Summoner class is as said before, dependent on the summoner themselves. This means that any monster the summoner has a connection to, be it due to their race, a title, attributes, or whatever, reflects on to what summoning spell that is possible to learn with the class. The spells are chosen by the summoner themselves.
The strength of the possible [Summoning] spells accessible goes up with the class' level and the strength of the summoner themselves. Meaning that even if one can only call upon monsters of rank F at first, with enough training, one can call upon rank C monsters even. It's good to remember that the amount of higher-ranked monsters is lower than the lower-ranked, so there may be times when no creature can answer your summonings.
Abilities obtained from leveling up the Summoner class:
- 1 specific [Summoning] spell
- 1 specific [Summoning] spell
- 1 specific [Summoning] spell
- 1 extra Accessory slot
- [Reduced Summoning Consumption LV1]
- 1 specific [Summoning] spell
- [Call of the Hero LV1]
- [Grand Summoning LV1]
Each entry on the list is available when reaching a class level of a tenfold. The first two items are received the moment one obtains the class. In the case of Summoner being selected as the Main Class, one will get the three first items instead. The final item is only obtainable for those with Summoner as the Main Class.
Carion's comment: From the looks of it, the [Call of the Hero] skill decreases the randomness of random [Summoning] spells, giving you a better chance to obtain the exact race you want.
Garami's comment: But it's at level 50 for me... Tch, I'm gonna save my current Skill Points for Alchemist, so I'll reach LV50 with both magician classes before having enough Points again.
A little explanation before the summonings gets revealed in the next main chapter.
so garami will have to buy a class to create weapons to make and use guns well?
Or, scout someone to her Dungeon to take care of that, and other weapons the Guild has. What's a personal adventurer guild without a personal crafter or two?
what effects does the ability grand summoning have?
It allows the summoning of more monsters that one has slots for, but for a higher cost. Like, way higher. And the costs are multiplied for each summoning. It's a Summoner-Main-class exclusive move, so Garami can't learn it.

You forgot about Only Sense Online. If you don't know about it, then I recommend it.
@Greydra missed that one i have read it i was listing them off a list i tend to be forgetful but alchemist make much more then just consumables at least western style alchemists do eastern type alchemists(chinese) tend to only make pills im assuming your basing your alchemist class off the western version given the homunculus part(purely western alchemist concept)
@Noxsis Alchemists can make anything, from potions to synthetic monsters. It's also a class that can enhance the other crafting classes, by preparing the materials that those classes need.
@Greydra ya before you said there focus is consumables and things that make things(way back when i first started asking about alchemist when i know it was a thing in this story) im think it could make weapons potentially(im not saying they would be the best just that they could make them) but the weapons they could make would likely not be made with a single skill focus which means equipment like guns would be more doable for them then a pure blacksmith(guns are a magitech weapon so it fits) im also imagining them making automata possibly
@Noxsis If they were thought the process, then they could make a gun, or any other weapons, but not as good as a real blacksmith. With guns as an example, the ranking would go like this, from worst to the best result:
3: Alchemist
2: Blacksmith
1: Gun-making blacksmith branched class.
To say it simply, an Alchemist can create weapons and other stuff, but the result will be inferior to those who are more specialized with them. An alchemist doesn't use a furnace for example, so that will make it even more difficult.
And even if they made a weapon that was equal to that of a blacksmith, they would have used way more materials and money for it.
Also, guns ain't Magitechs. The guns that came from other worlds just gets slapped with a restriction of use, while the populace has troubles in creating guns due to the instability of the materials, like gunpowder. And the finisher is: the bullets that a gun shoots out can't be enhanced with the user's aura, like with arrows and rocks. The bullets are in the chamber, which means no physical contact, which is required to apply one's aura to the stuff.
@Greydra thing about bullets is what you said only applies in the middle of combat not prepared(as in making specialty bullets such as magic bullets like garami did with her poison coated arrows and sigil arrows or even in full production just like how in the real world there or specialty bullets)
@Noxsis Well, they can make bullets, at a great level as well, but they need to be taught by someone with a class that can make fool-proof bullets, meaning bullets that don't blow up in your face). And the aether that makes up magical enhancements, or sigils in our case, may have an effect on the gunpowder in the bullets, so extreme caution and expertise are necessary to make the really good ones.
@Greydra another aspect about gun is trick shots they are a thing in the real world they are just really hard for instance imagine hitting around corners using ricochet not something arrows can do all that well but bullets are perfect for such a thing and such a shot would fall under what would likely be a gun arts skill
