Boom!
Loud noises kept reverberating across the bus as we ram every zombie who mindlessly walked in the middle of the street, blocking our way as we go. Making the front of our bus, look pretty messy.
Didn't know that Shizuka sensei is such an extreme driver.
Thankfully though, we picked up a vehicle that is big and sturdy enough that doing such a thing is hardly an inconvenience at all.
In any case, we've been on the road for quite some time now. Probably two hours had passed already since we got out of the school zone.
Though, weirdly enough, given how long we've been on the road already, the view of the nearby city is just being revealed to us as we drive along the highway.
Yeah, we are pretty late, notably so. Normally, in two hours of travel time, we should have passed this area long, long ago already. But for some reason, we are just getting here now.
Well, actually, we have a pretty good reason for this.
Now apart from Shizuka sensei's driving speed, which is on the slower side, there's also that little detour we made that probably consumed so much of our time. A little detour that could probably be explained just by looking at the back seats of our bus... which is currently filled with so much foodstuff.
To make the long story short, we looted a convenience store we saw on the way. For reasons that couldn't be more obvious.
Now to explain why it took us quite a while to wrap things up with that scenario, well, it wasn't easy. Just from trying to convince some goody two shoes in our group to do it cause they are "feeling guilty", to looting and then stuffing it all up back in our bus, to probably the most problematic of it all...
Dealing with the bastards that got there before us. I won't get into how it happened exactly, cause remembering it still makes me pissed off, but just know that I used the gun that was stuffed in my bag to deal with them.
One of the reasons why Kohta is currently lasering the back of my head with his stare. The others were also surprised to find out that I have a gun with me this whole time, but all their reactions paled out in comparison with Kohta.
In any case, it went smooth sailing for us right after I dealt with them.
So NOW, we are finally here in our current situation, us on the way to our next destination.
Shizuka sensei's house...
Or that's what I thought it was cause it turns out that it's actually her friend's apartment, at least that's what she explained it to be.
Anyways, that's where we are currently heading.
Now, it's pretty obvious that compared to the Canon, the current sequence of events is pretty messed up and did not match at all.
Originally, what was supposed to happen after Takashi and Co escaped the school is to head over to the nearest exit bridge in order to escape the city. Which... is a pretty reasonable idea. I could understand why such a thing would be the first to come up in anyone's mind in this type of situation.
But personally, given that I know how that idea went in the Anime, I don't like it. Doing that is just putting ourselves in the middle of the stampede, wasting time, and losing our bus anyway cause we surely need to abandon it at some point in that situation.
That's why after escaping the school, I did my best to divert ourselves from the canon path and take a little bit of a shortcut. Skipping the whole bridge scene and going straight to our house.
Well technically, it's her friend's house, but it doesn't really matter... It's not hers anymore, it's OURS now.

An hour has passed by and I say that our pretty little journey so far has been quite... interesting.
How so? Well, some major things happened. One of those is that, we manage to acquire some guns. But this time, it has MORE THAN one bullet in it.
It's all thanks to the dead police guys we passed by.
There were also some motorcycle thugs that decided to annoy us while we are on our way. Four motorcycle thugs to be exact.
That could have gone badly actually if not for me being alert, given that some of those thugs, for some reason, are loaded with sharp blades and shotguns.
Oh well, those thugs were probably taken by surprise when all of a sudden, the bus that they thought was filled with nothing but innocent high schoolers, started blasting at them all of a sudden.
I didn't even give them the chance to shout their generic villain voice line as I quickly shoot down the drivers, taking 3 motorcycles down. I missed one though cause after seeing that we have a gun, one of them immediately drove away.
Smart move actually, I give him that.
In any case, after that incident, nothing bothered us anymore. Some attempted but I quickly fired at them, preventing them from making any moves.
Well, none of us were hurt during that, probably just shocked cause without warning, I started firing at the windows all of a sudden, but that's all of it. They'll get over it in no time.
I mean, Takashi killed his friend who is also Rei's boyfriend but look at them now, not even a day has passed and they are already acting like none of that happened. Compare to that, this is nothing.
Anyways, speaking of Takashi and Rei, both of them went into some heated argument earlier... which ended up with Rei crying and Saya comforting her at the back of the bus. Takashi on the other hand is just there, acting like he doesn't care.
Well, both of them are pretty immature. But the problem is, apart from being immature and dense as fuck, Takashi is also an insecure son of a bitch that cannot even understand what Rei's trying to convey. All he's good at is whine that Rei chose another guy and not him even though, clearly, he's not making any effort for it.
Or at least, that's what I understand from listening to their banter.
Now, I'm not saying that I'm guilty, but to some degree, I may or may not actually be the reason why their argument started in the first place... and the reason why it became worse even more.
Cause it all started as small talk actually, but I accidentally stirred the conversation up to the topic that started the heat between both of them. Now that I think about it, I seemed to also add gasoline to the fire by adding some provoking comments as their argument goes by. Making it even worse as if it's not already.
Now believe me or not, I didn't plan for this actually. Not my intention AT ALL, I swear.
All of this is TOTALY an accident.
IN ANY CASE... that's all the notable things that happened while we are on our way here.
Some other things happened as well but they are just pretty minimal. Not worth saying.
Besides... we finally arrived at our destination. OUR house is already right here, in front of us.
*Screeech!*
Now, I am currently opening the doors, intending to go out. But I had to put in quite an effort just to do so cause it's almost stuck.
Looking at our bus as a whole, one can understand why that would be the case, cause it looked pretty messed up already. There's a cloud of smoke coming out of the engine, almost all the windows were either cracked or busted, and the exteriors are filled with dents.
Given that there are so many obstacles we have to ram through just to get here, I'm even more surprised that our bus didn't break down mid-way.
But not like it matters anymore. This is the last time that we will use bus-kun anyway. After this, he can finally get his well-deserved rest.
Besides, Humvee-chan is already here to take over his job. Waving at us inside the gate of OUR house.
"Arrrrrgh~"
But sadly, as much as I want to explore her insides already, I can't. Cause there's still some work to do.
"There are already some behind the fence. We have to get rid of them first." Saeko said out loud as she noticed the zombies roaming around inside the complex.
After she said that, everyone wasted no time as they immediately opened the gates...
""GRAAA!!!!""
Upon doing that, some zombies nearby immediately got attracted and lunged out at us but, that seems to be no problem at all as Saeko and the others made quick work of them.
"Alright. Let's go!"
After that, they immediately went inside and started the cleansing of OUR house.
As for me though, well. I'm chilling here on the bus with Shizuka sensei.
"aah~"
Giving her 'massages', cause she seems tired after all that driving.
Oh well, as much as I want to help them with the cleansing of our house, my hands are currently FULL.
"Hiro-kun, not there... Aah~"
So, I pray for their success. It's not much but... It's all I can do.

"so something happened, and that too ah and this too" c'mon I'm not here to read a log.
What was the argument? What were they talking about?
Just the part about the encounter with other people when they were trying to get food should have been important enough to get at least a chapter.
Don't just do a speedrun. Develop the characters and their interactions to make us interested.
Half of the chapter felt like reading a patch notes.
