Marcia slowly came back from unconsciousness and with slight difficulty sat up, cautiously she opened her eyes only to immediately cover them to block out the light. she groaned loudly only to flinch at her own noise.

Marcia: “Fuck, I don’t know what was worse the pain or feeling like I chugged a  bottle of tequila.”

Elder Jesika: “Give it a few more seconds and it will pass.”

Seeing the notification pleased Marcia as it was a fairly large increase for very little effort on her part.

Marcia: “oooh lots of upgrades.”

The Elder stiffened and her face darkened.

Elder Jesika: “Marcia did you get a Race Modification from your upgrade?”

The Elder’s tone caused Marcia to freeze and to become visibly nervous.

Marcia: “Yeah, Why does that matter?”

Elder Jesika:“It matters, because there are negative effects as well and depending which one you have I may have to kill you. Now when those effects show themselves I need you to show them to me.”

Marcia’s panic grew as she waited for the next notification until she flinched at the sound of the notification.

“Ding!”

Marcia didn’t even pause to read the notification before showing the Elder.

As the Elder read the notification she visibly relaxed and sighed in relief.

Elder Jesika: “You can relax Fey-Touched is a great outcome that won’t have any of the other factions clamoring for your blood.”

Marcia flopped to the floor in relief.

Marcia: “What were the chances that you would have had to do something about me”

Elder Jesika: “There are only four Race  modifications traits I would have been oath bound to do something about and only two would’ve called for your death.”

Curious Marcia decided to ask the obvious question that could have led to her death.

Marcia: “What are they?”

The Elder looked amused but answered anyway.

Elder Jesika: “The Traits that would have called for your death are the Demonic modification Trait: Sadistic and the Angelic modification Trait: Zealot. Your smart enough to see how those Traits are highly discouraged even amongst their own factions.”
