‘As expected’ Meng Lin thought as she recognized two new slots that were added onto the Gacha Wheel.

>Inheritance: Ancestral Symbol

>Intermediate grade system pack

She had half expected for the system pack to change to the intermediate grade based on the fact that she was rewarded with an intermediate system pack when she reached the Foundation Establishment Realm.

As for the new item, she didn’t really expect that; rather she expected for the spot that said [Inventory] to be grayed out since she had already gotten it.

But this makes things simpler, she didn’t want to think about when all of her items in the system became grayed out.

‘Now, what could this be?’. Ming Lin asked herself as she gazed at the symbol that took the form of crimson words on the Gacha Wheel.

It seemed to contain a powerful attraction as Meng Lin felt a twinge of excitement while pondering what the item could be.

As she stared at the crimson words, Meng Lin couldn't help but wonder if it would be something that would help her in her cultivation practice, or something that would help her in this particular situation.

Meng Lin closed her eyes and took a deep breath before spinning the wheel. She prayed for something that could help her escape from her current situation.

The wheel spun and spun, and with each spin, Meng Lin’s eyes followed the wheel, making sure to not miss anything, until finally it landed on something.

Inheritance: Ancestral Symbol

Meng Lin's eyes narrowed in surprise and hope, as she read the words on the Gacha Wheel. She wondered if the system was helping her.

The chances were slim for something like this to occur, nevertheless she quickly clicked on the crimson floating words that appeared to see what it was all about. The description read:

Inheritance: Ancestral Symbol
a powerful symbol passed down through cultivation generations, containing ancient knowledge and techniques. Can only be inherited by those with a special bloodline.

Meng Lin felt a rush of hope as she realized that this item could be just what she needed, however that was to be seen, she quickly claimed the item and waited, and waited.

Yet nothing happened, she felt nothing, Meng Lin was confused and nervous. She had expected some sort of immediate effect, but nothing had changed. She wondered if she had done something wrong.

She felt something appear inside her dantian but she felt it become unresponsive right after, she thought for a second before sighing out loud.

She assumed that it was because of this room, it was filled with a force that stopped all functions of spiritual energy and it did not allow for her to properly connect with the ancestral symbol.

Meng Lin knew that she had to wait for when she leaves the room to activate the power of the Inherence.

She closed her eyes and thought of countless scenarios, but her mind was clouded with fear and uncertainty. She knew she couldn’t do much and she felt hopeless.

**Yuan dynasty, Imperial capital**
**Underground Room**

Inside a small room with dim light, Lord Yuan stood, his mind deep in thought as he stared at a formation being made on the floor.

His disciples, Shang Juan and Ren Luo stood by the side as they gazed at a group of formation masters doing the finishing touches of a Grand Formation.

“Shang Juan, you and Ren Luo shall take the Origin Soul Prison to my main body, whatever you do make sure to not open the Soul Prison until you reach your destination”

“Yes master Yuan” Shang Juan said in agreement as he was made aware of the reason that his master was cautious of the girl in the soul prison, if the girl was able to hide from the forces of the Palace then it’s worth paying attention and being careful about.

“But master” Ren Luo said, about to voice his thoughts, however he was cut off by his master who said.

“Yes i know, you will be teleported to the domains of the Shattering Soul Sect and they are likely to sense the piece of Luan’s Soul, they will try to intercept you to retrieve her, so be careful on the way”

“I will give you my storage bag as this clone’s end is near, within the storage bag are countless ways for you to protect yourselves, we don’t have much time so go get the soul prison”

“Yes master” Ren Luo bowed, having his thoughts resolved, he quickly got up to head up the stairs, his objective to retrieve the soul prison.

Lord Yuan looked at the leaving figure of Ren Luo before turning towards Shang Juan.

“How is your pagoda accommodating?” “It is comfortable enough,” Shang Juan replied with a smile “My pagoda has an inherited spiritual vein so it’s easily able to hold onto a single Gold Core cultivator”.

“Good, we can’t be careful enough, now that we have something that will make it hard for her to escape, I don’t have to worry about what might happen on the way”

Shang Juan nooded while touching the side of his waist which held a small pagoda that glowed with richness, he thought for a second before speaking.

“Master, is it really worth losing this clone, even though it was cultivated to this realm, it still has a lot of potential?”

Lord Yuan sighed, “I know, but this clone has served its purpose, and it is better to be safe than sorry. We cannot let the Cultivation Allinace know yet, it could potentially cause harm to my plans.”

Shang Juan nodded in understanding, he knew that Lord Yuan had a lot at stake and couldn't afford any mistakes.

As they waited for Ren Luo to come back with the Soul Prison, Shang Juan couldn't help but feel a sense of unease.

He knew that he had to be cautious, as the forces of the Palace were becoming more and more aggressive and the hidden dangers that the Divine Soul Sect 's actions posed were getting more and more inconspicuous.

He was already prepared for all the worst-case scenarios, and is prepared to risk everything he had to accomplish this mission, but he couldn’t help but feel that he had left something out, as if something was still hidden underneath the surface.

The room fell into silence as they waited for Ren Luo to return, the only sound being the faint hum of the Grand Formation which was finished.
