Announcement

This will only be it for the week, though I did increase the word count a bit to compensate but I know it's not enough, more bad news...

I will also be taking a week-long break as I have gotten quite busy.

Hope for your understanding and continue to support the series.

Dean took advantage of this and pushed him away.

"Tsk, quite strong." His opponent clicked his tongue, then did a sinister smirk, “Let me teach you a real lesson."

The blonde-haired man who was the referee and occasionally corrected Dean's posture put on a look of surprise and was about to say something…

It was cut off by Dean's opponent shouting, "Watch and witness a glimpse of true swordsmanship!"

Feeling this was bad news, Dean immediately retreated. Then he noticed the youth muscle on his arms bulging a bit before he dived towards him with a speed he hadn't shown before.

Dean didn't bother to defend; as he hurriedly stepped to dodge, he saw the opponent simply swinging his sword towards his chest. The air swosshed, and Dean instinctively defended with his sword.

However, the clash of sword didn’t happened as the opponents sword only passed him by slightly when he swung it before he could think any further,

“Hm?!”

He muttered in shock as suddenly was blow away as he fell on his back with a loud thud. Pain entered his mind towards where the opponent's sword passed by.

‘But his sword didn’t touch me?!’ He wonder aloud, dazed, but it only took a moment to figure out what happened as he had heard a swift gushing of wind before he was blown away..

‘So that’s the famous wind blade huh…. Didn’t expect I'd experience it in this dojo….’

"That's enough!" The blonde-haired man said, stopping the fight.

Dean's opponent just shrugged and no longer said anything.

The blonder-haired man approached Dean, who stood up and had his head hung low. His mouth twitched, but he hid it and showed a concerned expression.

'Looks like I was indeed overconfident.’ Thinking of that, Dean chuckled, as if a door to a new world had opened to him. It made him look forward to what kind of things he could do once he got strong enough.

Dean stood up fine and answered, “I'm fine; that was really a surprise, as expected from someone of a top dojo."

He smiled as he said this, taking the blonde-haired man and his opponent a aback.

"Is that so? I hope you learned something from this short exchange," the blonde-haired man said with a small smile.

"I learned plenty." As he said that, he took off his protective gear on his left biceps. He felt some pain in them. The protective gear looked like it was nearly torn.

Taking off the gear, Dean saw his t-shirt sleeve underneath had become a bit torn too.

'I clearly defended his attack, yet the resulting wind slash or something still landed on my body. Using the wind…How does it actually work?’ As he pondered the logic behind it, the blond-haired man saw what happened to his shirt and said…

"Oh dear, it seems we ruined your shirt.

"It's fin-"

"Get him a new one; we don't want to leave you like that."

Dean wanted to say more, but as he took off his chest gear, he also saw that his shirt was a bit torn and his reddened skin can be seen. Hence, he relented.

"Thanks." Dean wanted to say that if it was possible to apply to the dojo, but from the looks of it, it wasn't. He wasn’t an idiot nor did he want to beg them to let him join.

Reina slashed toward her opponent, disrupting his charging, heavy attack.

"Ahh!"

His sword smashed the opponent's shield, and she didn't stop there as she swiftly slashed towards one of his unprotected and awkward legs.

"Ugh!"

Thud, her opponent fell with a thud, and as she took off her protective helmet and was about to wipe her sweat away, she suddenly heard some gasping with surprise and murmuring.

Curious, Reina turned her eyes to where they stared. And her eyes couldn't help but widen lightly.

"Thanks for this; this was an experience," Dean said as he put on his new white shirt, which was a little tight. His sword was handed to him as he gave his thanks again.

Turning to the blonde man, he saw his face was a little awkward, and Dean could only smile wryly.

Although he had increased his constitution and his figure turned fine as it was, some scars on his body still remained from the injuries he received. There were also some bruises, while he didn't feel that much pain anymore, also left some marks. Making his body look like it's been through some hell.

‘Well, I did though...'

Because of the state his body was in, it caused a small shock to these young students.

“Oh right, please see our guest out." The blonde-haired man, whose name Dean never got, snapped out of his reverie.

Dean thanked him one last time as he bowed, and soon he was led out of the dojo.

Outside the dojo, Dean pondered what to do.

'I suppose I should visit the other dojos I've looked into.

Knowing that even a relatively well-known dojo has such techniques and students,  he was excited by the prospects of other dojos. Dean checked the time. 9:11am. It was still early.

"Hmm... is there something on the news about any crime and monster attacks?" he mumbled as he opened his phone, like a certain guy that can crawl to the walls, he could only rely on the news to know if there's any crime or monster attack in the city. At that moment, he also decided to finish looking through the information Mika sent him.

He scrolled through the news, but unfortunately, Z-city seemed peaceful; at least he couldn't find anything on the news. In other cities, however...

[Breaking News! Humongous spiders have invaded Q City! They are climbing the buildings and warping them with cobwebs!

As of now, the residents are being evacuated. What is this? OH! We just got word that Watchdogman, the protector of Q City, is arriving! no! He has arrived!]

He then saw the mysterious and powerful watchdog man rip the 10-meter-tall huge spiders apart, killing it in an instant.

'Come to think of it, Watchdogman's full strength and even identity weren’t fully revealed yet, even in the manga; maybe I could try to find out his origin now that I'm in this world. As for his strength... Well, there was one law in OPM,... The lower the quality of your face, the stronger you are.'

Dean believed Watchdogman had enough strength to even enter the top 3 or top 4 of the association, second only to Tatsumaki. With number 1 being Blast of course, and Flashy flash fighting for top 3 maybe even top 2. Saitama is excluded from the ranking obviously.

As Dean looked in envy as the other cities either got attacked by monsters or were in the middle of a police chase, he continued to walk towards his destination.

That's when he vaguely heard someone shouting...

"Stop him! Stop!"

He looked forward and saw someone shady wearing a mask, holding something, and running away from two guys wearing police uniforms.

Seeing this, Dean immediately smiled and pretended to make way for the supposed criminal before he immediately tripped him over.

The criminal rolled to the ground a couple of times as jewelry suddenly splattered the ground.

‘Oh, a jewelry thief? At this time of the day?' Dean thought.

"Thank you!"

The officers were catching up to the criminal while he was panting.

"It's noth--" just as he said that, he saw the criminal manage to sit himself up and point a gun towards him.

Dean strained his body as he decided to dodge, but that's when he realized there was somebody a few meters behind him! If he dodges, the bullet will hit someone.

He immediately came to a decision as he pushed his muscles to the max and grabbed his sword, just as the criminal put his hands on the trigger and anticipating where he was going to shoot…

Bang!

Cling!

A gunshot sounded about, but to the surprise of the criminal, he saw the bystander who tripped him use a black sword to defend himself as a small cloud of smoke emerge where the bullet hit.

'Too close! ' Dean roared in his mind, at the same time an exhilaration rose inside him from blocking a gunshot even though it was just by luck and anticipation. There was still a long way before he could truly handle guns.

The police immediately responded, they shot the criminal with a taser and apprehended him.

With that happening, Dean examined his sword where the bullet hit, scratching the surface of the sword. He discovered an almost unnoticeable dent where the bullet hit.

'Thank God it didn't do much.’ At the same time, he couldn’t help but lament how his sword has dented. It was like seeing his new car get a very small dent.

"Are you alright? Are you hit?"

One of the officers said to him.

"I'm alright... haha," Dean said with a laugh.

“Thank you for your help, young man."

"No worries"

After that, they hauled the criminal into the back seat of a police car and soon left. Soon, he left the area, satisfied that he had done something good.

By the way, what do you think mc's hero name should be? I'm not asking for specific but whether it will be comedic or a serious one?

I was thinking since it's the hero officials that decides the name of the hero, what would they name Dean? In terms if its a comedic or serious one of course.
