Jason felt a headache. It feels like he woke up to a hangover but when he looked around, he couldn't help but frown when he saw the music sheets in front of him. There was a date on the music sheets.

"Isn't this the date when I was supposed to have transmigrated during the car accident?" Jason was baffled.

He was currently inside his music studio, seemingly having fallen asleep while completing a song for Cronos.

He looked through the music sheets and it was indeed Cronos's song but with only four members. He looked at the clock on the wall and it was the same time as when the car accident was supposed to happen.

"Jason, did you fall asleep again? Just go home at this point and sleep properly," it was Revan's voice.

"Yeah I'm tidying up. I will go home in a second. Did Ray and Chris already left?" 

"They left long ago. Want me to accompany you?" Revan already opened the door by himself and he stood there, leaning on the door frame.

"Revan, do you know Bai Wehan?"

"Bai Wehan? That name sounds Chinese. An actor? A singer? A politician? A historical figure?" Revan looked confused.

"No, it is just the name of someone I know. I'm planning to visit him soon," Jason felt like he already had a gist where he was.

"Oh really. You should really take a breather. We still have time before the comeback so relax a bit."

"Ok."

Jason was alone in his apartment. It was an apartment provided by the company but Jason felt like he liked it here so he bought it from the company.

He toured around and as he expected, he found out that he was indeed living alone with no trace of his husband anywhere.

"Is this a parallel world?" Jason muttered.

Having transmigrated so much, Jason (Leo) has thought about the parallel world multiple times.

Looking around the internet, he couldn't find any traces of Bai Wehan but he did find Bai Wehan's social media. The exact Bai Wehan who was the protagonist.

However instead of being an idol, this Bai Wehan was an art student from S University. Parents were immigrants that have been in the country for twenty years.

Happy family, happy friends, sunny temperament. Everything seemed perfectly normal.

Bai Wehan never went to any audition and he was currently a postgraduate student. Based on his study, he might have planned to be a lecturer or professional painter.

Jason looked through everything he could scour on the internet.

Suddenly his phone rang and when he saw the caller, he couldn't help but smile.

[ Boss Ping]

The same loan shark Jason had dealt with before. Since he had done it once, why not do it again.

Jason knew this might be the after effect from the system when it was discovered by 007 thus he didn't mind playing around in a parallel world like this.

The next few days, Jason decided to meet with Gu Junling at a coffee shop.

"Is there anything you want?" Gu Junling asked directly since despite being alumni from the same university, he and Jason never cross path.

"Are you in love, senior?" Jason asked directly.

If his guess was true, this might be the parallel world even before Bai Wehan's so called first life.

Gu Junling couldn't help but raise his eyebrow and frowned slightly, "What does that have anything to do with you?"

"I have a way to put his art in a famous Country R art gallery in Moscow. Isn't it time for him to make some name abroad even though he wasn't well known in the country? I can help with that," Jason offered since he knew Alexander was the biggest shareholder of the company owning the gallery.

Gu Junling didn't reply straight away, "What do you want from me?"

"Nothing much but I want you to invite me to your wedding later."

Gu Junling was curious about the reason Jason wanted to come to his wedding but he always knew what to ask and what not. Too much curiosity will kill a cat and he might be that cat.

"Ok you got my words but you better not go back on your words."

"Give me a month and someone will contact 'him'. That's my cue. Once it happens you need to do your end of the bargain."

The him, Jason was referring to was Bai Wehan. It seems Gu Junling had been with Bai Wehan for three years at this point of time.

'He seems to genuinely care about Bai Wehan.'

Unfortunately Jason didn't have a system that could measure the affection level so he couldn't know for sure since Gu Junling had always been good at controlling his facial expression.

The next step was obviously to reunite with his father.

A month later, Jason did what he said and Gu Junling had no reason to not do his end of the bargain.

He was skeptical at first but seeing his lover's excited smile, Gu Junling could only bite the bullet and call Jason to confirm the arrangements.

Jason could help Bai Wehan's career in the art circle so Gu Junling just thought this would be the first and the last time he made a deal with him for Bai Wehan's sake.

Jason was hiding so deeply that Gu Junling himself felt uneasy. 

After finishing what had to be done, a year passed in a flash. Jason couldn't help but feel restless.

Plus Zheng Roufeng wasn't in this parallel world for some reason.

After a year, he was still in the parallel world for some reason and didn't know how to go back to where his lover was currently at.

"Is there something wrong, son?" Alexander asked.

They were currently having dinner together.

"No it's nothing. I'm just tired."

"If you feel tired going back and forth between the two countries, why not just stay there. I can come visit you instead," Alexander suggested.

Knock knock

The butler seemed hesitant to disturb the father and son but he still said, "Someone is calling the young master. They even call the company since they can't reach the young master. He said his name is Gu Junling."

"What else did he say?" Jason felt weird why Gu Junling would suddenly call him.

It seems important if he even contacted the company when he couldn't reach him.

"He asked if the young master wanted to have a deal with the Gu family industry. He only asked to call him back if you're interested."

Gu family?

Jason became even more confused since Gu Junling never used the Gu family's connection as far as he knew. 

Everything he built: the name, the fame, the career are all contributed by his hard work, talent and passion.

The Gu family never helped him much but as the Gu young master, his voice still held a certain weight and he wouldn't use it carelessly without any reason.

Gu Junling's offer was quite tempting to Alexander but if his son didn't want it, he wouldn't accept it.

Jason decided to call Gu Junling back and Alexander as always would support him no matter what he decided.

"Jason thank you for calling-" 

Gu Junling didn't manage to finish his sentence before Jason interrupted, "Straight to the point. What happened? You won't give such an offer if nothing happened right?"

Gu Junling knew Jason might be his only hope, "Bai Wehan, my fiancé he..."

Listening to Gu Junling, Jason knew it wasn't because of a butterfly effect from him. He avoided having any contact with either Gu Junling or Bai Wehan and just let them develop their relationship.

As expected, Bai Wehan managed to get engaged to Gu Junling. The stupid bullshit misunderstanding didn't happen since Jason wasn't in the picture.

But Bai Wehan still got into a car accident and is currently in a vegetative state.

"Please, I need your help."

"What do you mean? I'm not even a doctor." This was the point that Jason couldn't understand. What's the reason for asking for help from him?

"I got a dream after Bai Wehan's accident. In that dream, you manage to extract a sinister looking black ball from inside Bai Wehan's head and he wakes up the next morning. I've got the same dream for a month now. I just want to see whether it is plausible or not."

Gu Junling who didn't believe in any superstitious belief couldn't help but spouted out a bunch of things.

Like, Jason's ancestors might be Shamans or those who have spiritual ability to get rid of bad luck etc.

Jason almost believed him if he didn't know who his parents were.

Alexander was from a long line of nobility lineages. His family were distant relatives of the royal family.

While his mother was unknown, the probability of her family being Shamans also seem unlikely.

But Jason also couldn't just gloss over the protagonist's male lead's dream. Gu Junling was supposed to share the same protagonist halo as Bai Wehan so there might really be a hint in his dream.

"Fine, fine. Stop talking. Are you possessed? How did I not know that Gu Junling could talk so much? I will come and take a look but please don't put your hope too high."

"Thank you," Gu Junling felt relieved.

When Jason arrived, he saw Gu Junling who looked like he had aged ten years older. Stubbles were all over his jaw and cheeks. His clothes were unkempt and his hair was messy like a chicken nest.

His eyes were red with dark heavy eye bags. He didn't seem to have a good rest for quite a while.

"Jason!"

"Yes, I know. Let me take a look but don't force me to do anything," Jason said irritatedly. He didn't really want to get anything to do with the main characters.

Inside the private ward, Jason stared at the unconscious Bai Wehan. 

'It still has the same face but it looks slightly different.' Jason thought.

It might be because Bai Wehan was unconscious and seemingly asleep or it was because Bai Wehan's hair color was his natural dark brown hair color not the bright pink or the really light blonde Jason usually saw.

Gu Junling who was standing behind Jason didn't even dare to make any noise. He was nervous. His dream also shows that if Jason was gone, Bai Wehan would never wake up again.

That was why he was so anxious.

Jason stared at Bai Wehan but didn't notice anything weird. He was so engrossed in finding anything odd with Bai Wehan that he didn't realize the pair of eyes that suddenly opened.

"!!!!!!" That scared the shit out of me.

Jason almost shouted the moment he saw Bai Wehan eyes suddenly opened and stared at him.

"You've come to this point huh?" 

It wasn't Bai Wehan's voice but the sound did indeed come from him. Jason turned around and saw Gu Junling wasn't behind him anymore and he also realized there seemed to be an invisible dome surrounding them as if separating them from the outside world.

"You're...the system (?)" Jason made a bold guess since the voice sounds oddly mechanical like an AI.

007 sounds exactly like that before Leo managed to breach his data core and adjust his code strings.

"Not quite. But I can tell you who I previously was if you can promise me one thing."

"What do you want?" Jason was hesitant but if the promise was too outrageous or absurd he would just reject them.

"I want this parallel world to not crumble. Bai Wehan is indeed the protagonist. The perfect protagonist I favour."

Jason frowned. He didn't have the ability to do that.

Seeing Jason's silence, the system wasn't disheartened, "Don't worry. You can just promise me now and you can choose to grant the promise or not in the future when you have the ability. I can't do anything to tie you in the least."

"Ok I promised," Jason decided to promise since he knew such a newly formed system with consciousness really couldn't do anything to him.

"Thank you. Bai Wehan is my precious baby. He is simple minded and naïve thus I pair him with a responsible man that has the ability to protect him while at the same time retain his naiveness."

Jason, who initially only listened half-heartedly couldn't help but felt surprised when he knew how the system was able to manifest itself.

"A virus suddenly came and tried to kill Bai Wehan. That was how he got into the accident. I used my authority to minimize the damage but Bai Wehan still became like this."

The system said, Bai Wehan didn't have a chance to wake up and will continue to be vegetative for the rest of his life and Gu Junling would remain by his side until both of them died side by side in their sleep.

Sounds like a happy ending but nope. Such a plot didn't have much spirituality thus the world would crumble down. The plot halo was exhausted just to maintain Bai Wehan's life force since if Bai Wehan died, Gu Junling obviously might have died not long after that.

"I'm actually the World Consciousness of this world plane."

In order to somehow repair his own world, the World Consciousness transferred his consciousness into Bai Wehan and formed a system. He sacrifices a bit of Bai Wehan's halo to turn back time, causing him to be reborn not once but twice.

But an error occurred. Bai Wehan turned into the opposite of who he should be.

"I didn't realize that I've been corrupted by the virus and because of me, my baby turned into something I don't want him to be."

"Does that have anything to do with me?" Jason was referring to his character.

"Jason was supposed to be father in-law of Gu Junling and Bai Wehan's daughter in the future."

In the future, Bai Wehan was supposed to have a daughter via surrogacy and her name was Bai Qianqian. She would later marry Adrian Cain Sergeyev, Jason's son.

"I will have a son?" Jason wasn't shocked.

"It's not important. What is more important was, after Bai Wehan, Bai Qianqian will be the new protagonist. So this thread can't be cut off and I need Bai Wehan to wake up."

"What do you want me to do?" Jason was curious.

"Just put your hand on top of his forehead and I will do the rest."

Jason was skeptical but he did as he was told. He soon wanted to regret his choice when a sudden pain started throbbing through his vein like an electric shock.

"Arghhh!"

"Jason! What happened? I heard your scream" 

Jason couldn't help but feel relieved when he didn't feel any pain anymore but he was confused.

He didn't seem to be in Bai Wehan's ward. He turned around and saw Zheng Roufeng putting a tray of hot breakfast on the coffee table by the bedside. He also noticed the ring on Zheng Roufeng's ring finger.

The ring design was from Emperor Aryan (ML's name in Arc 2) for their wedding. There was no one else who knew the design in this world except him (Leo).

"Did you have a nightmare?" Zheng Roufeng's voice woke Jason from his thoughts. His face looked worried.

Jason looked around and realized it was his own private ward. He's back with his lover again. It took him a moment to sort out everything.
