"Ares, I thought you're still on leave?" Melinda never thought to see Ares.

"Well, the Chief Director summoned me so of course I need to come as long as I'm still alive," Ares looked like he couldn't care less.

There was a red lizard on his head, resting there as if it was sleeping.

"What is that?" Melinda never liked reptiles and looking at the lizard made her have goosebumps.

"My beast pet. I don't know what to name it yet since I don't even know the gender."

"I see. Do you plan to go to the trial?"

"Nope."

Melinda wasn't shocked with the answer and after a few more talks she decided to go.

"Where are you going Melinda?"

"I'm going to go see teaching assistant Ciel since I'm interested in his Monster Research club."

"Ok. Just open your eyes wide and stay on your guard all the time."

"What?"

However, Ares already walked away leaving her behind, feeling confused and bewildered. But instantly Melinda put the thoughts into the back of her head and immediately headed towards the Monster Research clubroom.

She opened the door of the room which looked no different than usual but the empty room gave off a slight chill. The only person inside was the assistant instructor Ciel Dunner, who was currently reading a book.

Melinda tilted her head. Where was everyone else? Wasn't he said he was with his club members?

Melinda wouldn't agree if she knew she had to meet with Ciel alone. At that moment, Ciel noticed Melinda and walked over.

"You're here?"

"Yes"

"Please take a seat"

Melinda sat down for now despite feeling a bit uneasy but soon she calmed down after she smelled a fragrant scent. For some reason the scent Ciel gave off was calming and cozy that made her feel relaxed.

"You choose a good perfume."

"Oh yes thank you. It was a gift."

"So where are your club members?"

"They went out to buy something to drink and eat because our club activity tends to end late. Since I already made an appointment with you, I stayed behind in case you arrived when we are not here."

The way Ciel talked courteously and respectfully, making Melinda lower her guard unconsciously.

Ciel then leaned a bit towards Melinda and placed down a scented candle in front of her.

"What is this?"

"A scented candle. It'll help when you're trying to relax while taking a break."

Melinda smelled the scented candle. Her body felt relaxed and the days of exhaustion seemed to wear away.

Melinda was pleased with the smell and with a slight smile, she said, "I met with Ares just now."

"Oh so what did he say?"

"He didn't say anything much but he just told me to be on guard all the time."

"Oh he is such a caring person," Ciel's eyes darkened slightly while he was pouring tea for Melinda.

The reason why Melinda agreed to meet Ciel was because she really needed the information about the Sand Armadillo monster's weakness from Ciel since one of the dungeons in Manic's territory has that monster.

Manic have been investigating that monster for years now and they still couldn't find its weaknesses at all.

It has a rock hard skin and it also has the ability to turn into a ball shape to defend itself and also to run away. Its not so violent like other monsters but its hard skin was a perfect defense against physical or magic attack.

There would always be casualties every time the Manic sent their personnel to clean the dungeon, thus they frantically searched for the Sand Armadillo's weakness.

The dungeons have to be cleared at least twice a year in order to avoid dungeon break from occurring. The Sand Armadillo's dungeon had not been cleared for almost two years, which already exceeded the time limit imposed by the Dungeon Administration Institute (DAI).

"So how much is the price for that information and has it already been confirmed?" Melinda asked directly.

"It's already been confirmed but you can confirm it yourself. I will sell this information for only 10,000U since money isn't my main objective. I just wanted to help fellow students from the same academy. Here take a bite of this cake," Ciel offered a slice of cake to Amanda.

Melinda wanted to thank him before she saw another plate containing a half eaten slice of cake beside Ciel.

"You don't finish eating your cake?" Melinda asked.

"Oh I think I'm already full," Ciel answered with an amiable smile on his face.

However Melinda suddenly recalled what Ares said to her before she met Ciel.

Just open your eyes wide and stay on your guard all the time.

At that moment, Melinda suddenly snapped out of her daze. Tension welled up in her body once more. She turned her head towards Ciel and glared at him.

One thing that Melinda was sure was Ares was never the type that talked nonsense and she just realized that there were no signs of any club members being there before she came and none of them have come back.

The plates, the cups were only for two people, her and Ciel.

"Is there something wrong Melinda?" Ciel asked, seemingly concerned.

"You, who are you?!"

"What do you mean Melinda?"

Ciel smiled. The gentle arc of his eyes and mouth quickly twisted viciously.

"To be honest, it wasn't supposed to be your turn yet."

"W-what?"

Suddenly Melinda's vision became blurry and her speech started to slur. A moment later Melinda lost consciousness and the spoon she was holding slid out of her hand and fell to the floor.

"As expected the candle alone couldn't knock this girl down so I have to feed her something special I put inside the cake."

Ciel started to move and his previously amiable smile turned crooked.

Around the same time, Ares who initially said he was called by the Chief Director, couldn't help but stop at the cafeteria when he suddenly sensed lingering demonic energy among the students.

"??" Are there Demons or Djinns here?

Walking throughout the cafeteria, he managed to pinpoint where the demonic energy came from, it was from the kitchen, more specifically from the instructor that was currently cooking.

"Instructor Bernard Sarkozi, what are you doing?" Ares asked since it was weird why he was there to begin with.

"Oh today is my birthday and during my birthday, I usually volunteer to cook for the students."

"Ok but what are you cooking?"

"A few monsters that I hunted myself from the forest," Bernard felt weird when Ares kept on asking him questions while staring at the food.

Ares looked around at the students eating the food and couldn't help but to have mixed feelings.

He didn't care about the students but wouldn't his family be blamed for this. And where the hell is the protagonist? Why is he the one who stumbled upon this problem?

Ares didn't care anymore and immediately took out his phone and made a phone call.

"Hello grandpa, can you tell my uncle to come to the academy and clean it up. Yeah, bring the Espada too. Someone is feeding food containing demonic energy to the students."

His voice wasn't quiet in any way thus a few of the students heard him. Some of them couldn't help but vomit on the floor.

Some of the students tried to use healing and Ares also tried to use a purifying flame spell but that was when he realized that his mana seemed to be blocked by something.

"My mana, I can't use my mana?! What happened?" One student exclaimed before other students also started to panic.

"Sigh, what a mess."

"Hey you, what are you doing?" Bernard couldn't help but feel shitty when the students started to look at him with hostility and disgust.

"I don't have any reason to pick a fight or frame you. Ask yourself. Who gave you the ingredients? Is it your lover Ciel Dunner? Then that makes sense since that guy is a Djinn. Now you follow me," Ares immediately pulled Bernard's collar and dragged the two meter man out of the cafeteria.

"Tell me did Ciel tell you anything?" Ares asked.

"You?! First you accused me of feeding the students demonic food and now you dare accuse Ciel!"

"Why didn't I dare? Will I accuse him without proof? That lingering demonic stench made me want to strangle his face but since he didn't do anything I just decided to observe for the time being but who would have thought. I should have just killed him the first time I saw him. And you are just an idiot falling with a pretty face."

"Ciel saved me. You, who had been a noble your whole life know nothing!"

"I know nothing huh? Did Ciel tell you not to eat or taste the food you cook?"

"......."

"I take that as a yes. Now I will leave you with Samuel Adenca so don't make trouble."

Bernard wanted to break free from Ares's clutches but suddenly a few golden chains came out from Ares's back and tied him, rendering him immobile.

Just like that he was dragged all over the building until they arrived at the administration building and entered the Chief Director's room.

"Oh Ares, what brings you here today?" Samuel smiled when he saw Ares.

"Here, interrogate him. I already called my family so expect this academy to be a bit of a wreck by the end of the day."

"Ok do whatever you want and have fun Ares."

"........" Have fun my ass. Is hunting Demons and Djinns fun?

Ares looked at his smart watch and saw messages from his classmate.

<Sierra: Hey I was burning weed with Eva on the rooftop opposite of the library building but we accidentally saw that Manic girl from class A being dragged here by someone.>

Ares already has information on Ciel Dunner thus he took out Ciel's picture and sent it into the group.

<Ares: Is it this guy?>

<Sierra: Yes!!!! It's that guy!!!! Class leader please help!! We're still undetected but that guy looked cray cray and I wanted to cry. His mana made even Eva felt uneasy.>

<Ares: He's a Djinn. You two remained as undetectable as possible. Did you use an artifact Sierra?>

<Sierra: Yes but if my mana is depleted, the artifact will be deactivated.>

<Ares: Ferguson, go sneak Sierra and Eva out from there. Robin, set up a barrage of arrows and bazookas on the opposite building rooftop with Laura.
Laura, confirmed how many people are in that building.  Alfred, Sayan, Jake and Prince Theo, please make people evacuate the building.
Tristan and Revan, bring Mina with you and try to go to Sierra's place. After Ferguson took the girls away, try to provoke that guy. No need to fight him all out. I will be there.>

<Robin: Ai ai captain!>

<Tristan: Roger and out>

<Laura: Ok understand>

Each of them immediately went to their designated positions but Ares knew he had something else to do.

He activated <I'm the Monarch> and <Devour> to feel the current flow of mana. Since the atmosphere was full of mana, when the mana was being restricted like in a vacuum space, considering that it wasn't entirely vacuum yet, there should be traces of those mana going somewhere and sure enough, he could feel traces of mana leading somewhere.

"Argh!"

Suddenly a group of students started to attack each other.

"Sigh, really?" Ares never thought he needed to even handle a group of students older than him.

"It's Targael! Attack!" One of them shouted.

Ares took out the sword from his spatial earrings and instantly the swords were engulfed in reddish flames.

"How can he still use mana?"

"Who cares, just attack him!"

******************

Inside the courtroom.

"Silver, do you think just because you have a close relationship with Samuel Adenca, we will treat you as equal and with respect?"

"You're still immature to even be in that position."

Silver snickered, "Isn't this too easy for you to be revealing your true self? How many of you are here?"

"Huh! It's already too late Silver. Attack!"

"You dumbasses really dare! Huhh?" Silver was caught off guard when she could conjure any spell.

"You can't use your spell, can you?"

"Tsk, that doesn't mean I can't fight!"

The small wooden hammer that was in her hand instantly went straight into one of the juries' head and his head immediately blew away with blood spilling all over.

"You monster!"

"Arghhh! Run!"

With the sudden turn of events, the students were shocked and scared. Most of them never saw anyone dying before so they were too stunned to even scream or move.

Cedric who was being handcuffed couldn't help but just punch through when he was being attacked.

"Just punched Cedric. This handcuff is made off special material that limits mana and even holy power but I can help you a bit with my holy power," Ima said.

"Things have turned for the worst," Cedric couldn't help but blame himself.

The Djinns must have felt frustrated and went to do the extreme because he kept on closing in to their tails.

"Stop the self blame and help that woman and the other students."

"Ceddie, here is a sword. Take it," Abby suddenly shouted before she threw a sword at him.

"Thanks Abby!"

He immediately ran to protect Abby. Other students also already started to get their weapons and fight like Silver.

Meanwhile, the Espada along with Leon Targael who just arrived outside the academy couldn't enter when the academy's barrier seemed to be preventing them from entering.

"Sir, it seems those inside can't get out and those outside also can't go in," one officer reported.

"Oh no wonder. So what do you think we should do?"

"The best course of action is to create another barrier on top of this barrier to prevent anyone inside from transporting out through teleportation."

"Good idea. Start with the barrier and all personnels, surround the academy. I will call for more backups."
