After a few minutes of walking, they arrived in what seemed to be a clearing, a bit farther from the colossal coliseum. In the clearing stood an enormous tree that appeared to be over 20 meters tall. The tree's branches swayed in the wind, and the leaves scattered with each gust, likely another special effect.

"Let's go," Mizuki said as she guided Lucian closer to the towering tree. As they approached, the intricate details of the tree came into view. On the opposite side of the tree, a small entrance was visible. A bit further from that, they found a pristine white parasol, a table, and chairs arranged, as though they were intended for an outdoor gathering. This was something Mizuki had created and frequently used when having discussions with guild members. It was primarily for her and the other female guild members, as they held their small gatherings at this spot.

"Let me call for my NPCs. [Come Here: Aura And Mare]," Mizuki commanded, activating the voice function. Two figures promptly emerged from the small entrance, their petite figures moving gracefully as they walked and knelt in front of the red slime.

"Look, look!" Mizuki exclaimed, moving closer to them and placing her hands on their shoulders.

"Aren't they cute?" She gazed at Lucian with stars in her eyes, hoping for his agreement. However, he merely responded with an unenthusiastic nod.

The first figure was a cute, boyish-looking child with dark skin and pointed ears. She had golden hair and heterochromatic eyes, with her left eye being blue and her right eye green. She wore a gold vest paired with white trousers and gold shoes, along with various accessories for added details.

The second figure was another adorable child with dark skin and pointed ears, sporting golden hair and heterochromatic eyes, with the right one being blue and the left one green. This clearly indicated that they were twins. However, this child was wearing a skirt, suggesting a different gender from the first figure.

Mizuki appeared somewhat disheartened and asked, "What? You don't like them?" She thought Lucian might not have liked her creations, but he quickly reassured her.

"No, I was just wondering if it's fine to have humanoid NPCs. Isn't the guild intended for heteromorphs only?" Lucian raised a valid point for clarification.

Mizuki replied, shaking her head, "No, no, it's fine. They are NPCs, not players. They wouldn't try to sabotage the base."

Lucian's curiosity was still present as he continued, "Do you mind if I see their status?" Mizuki readily complied with his request and presented their character statuses for him to review.

« She is one of the twin floor guardians of the 6th floor and shares the responsibility for guarding and maintaining this floor with her brother. Aura is a cheerful and boyish girl who possesses a straightforward and blunt manner in her speech. Her dominating nature ensures that her brother listens to her every word. Moreover, she exhibits a collector's spirit, with a keen interest in taming various creatures that catch her fancy.

While Aura often patrols the forest, it falls upon Mare to watch over the Amphitheater temporarily. In cases where her brother intends to leave the location, Aura becomes the key person to whom Mare must communicate his reasons for departing.

Aura maintains excellent relationships with other NPCs, with one notable exception being Shalltear. She perceives Shalltear's personality as unfavorable and harbors a dislike to her undead nature and a hideous appearance hidden beneath Shalltear's beauty. It's important to note that while Aura is annoyed by Shalltear, she doesn't hold any hatred towards her. »

« He is one of the twin floor guardians of the 6th floor and also the younger brother of Aura Bella Fiora. He is responsible for guarding the floor against any potential invaders, along with his sister.

Mare has a shy and timid personality, which is the polar opposite of his sister, Aura. He frequently stutters when speaking and maintains a subservient demeanor during conversations. Beneath his shy and retiring facade, Mare can display hostility and determination when dealing with those who threaten the territory of the 41 Supreme Beings. He prefers to sleep all day and enjoys reading books from Nazarick's library, Ashurbanipal, rather than engaging in conversations with others. He is highly obedient to his sister, following her guidance as a good younger brother should.

Mare also holds deep affection for everyone in Nazarick, even though it may not always be evident in his demeanor. He exhibits a sense of loyalty, and acts as a dutiful guardian. »

"Traps... really?" Lucian's exasperation was evident as he sighed and looked at Mizuki, who flinched at his words.

"See, despite their appearance, they are very cute, right? Plus, isn't the idea of traps something everyone likes? Isn't that like... Yes! Gap moe!" Mizuki stuttered as she tried to explain and provide a reasonable justification to Lucian for making her NPCs appear as traps.

"Did you really model them after your and Peroroncino's relationship? Wow! It really does reinforce the idea that a good brother is one who listens to his sister." Lucian stared at Mizuki as he walked closer to her. She tried to back up but stumbled over the chair and table that were there, ending up sitting on it as Lucian approached her.

"Do you really think that's how it works? Shouldn't it be the other way around?" Lucian said, emphasizing his point by slamming his hands on the pristine white table.

"I stand by my statement," Mizuki replied, turning over and whistling as if her statement were an unchangeable fact.

"Ah, and here I thought you had created groundbreaking NPCs that would change the world," Lucian said, clearly mocking her.

Mizuki couldn't help but exclaim, getting up from her seat, "What!?"

Mizuki couldn't help but ask with a mix of hostility and concern, "Are you saying my NPCs are not good?"

Lucian quickly clarified, "No, that's not what I meant. I just wondered if making them traps was really necessary. Mare could have been a femboyish girl, and Aura could have been a tomboyish girl." He then shifted their focus, saying, "Let's explore the other floors. I'm very interested in seeing all of Nazarick before I log out." This time, Lucian took the lead and gently tugged Mizuki along by her slimy hands as they continued their exploration.

"Oh, okay," Mizuki said as her enthusiasm returned, and she immediately began showing Lucian the massive colosseum. However, Lucian didn't linger on the 6th floor for too long because he was curious about something else: the NPCs created by Ulbert. Mizuki had described them as "crazy," and considering Ulbert's own eccentricity in the game, Lucian couldn't wait to learn more.

A brief flash of light marked their teleportation to the 7th floor, a place that could only be described with a single word: Hell.

The entire place was submerged in flowing lava, surrounded by ruins of temples that seemed to hover above the scorching heat, miraculously refusing to melt. The sky was absent, resembling an endless sea of crimson overhead. The lava emitted sizzling sounds and bubbling bubbles seemed to pop as Lucian stood on what seemed to be a circular platform amidst the black scorched remnants of the molten terrain. This platform was connected to a lengthy charred walkway that appeared to lead somewhere, likely toward the center of the floor.

"This is a ruin, did Ulbert-San create this entire place?" Lucian asked as he gazed at the landscape, taking in the hellish beauty of the surroundings. It reminded him of his own Citadel of Sin, albeit in fiery red. The lava enhanced the scenery, creating a magnificent yet infernal view. The ground seemed scarce, as if the lava could consume it at any moment. No matter where he looked, it only served as a reminder of impending doom and a nightmarish red spectacle, reminding him memories of his time fighting the boss in Valhalla.

"Yeah, Ulbert-san spent months here creating and customizing things," Mizuki explained as she tugged on Lucian's hand and pointed in a particular direction.

"What?" Lucian inquired, noticing her tugs.

"His NPCs are in the Blazing Temple, which is at the center of the floor. Let's go there," she said, jumping onto Lucian's back for a piggyback ride.

"Sigh~ All right," Lucian sighed, and two black wings immediately materialized behind his back. They began to emit a vibrant neon green light, and in the blink of an eye, he and Mizuki vanished.

Their figures darted through half of the floor in an instant, arriving on a stable platform, a welcome change from the fiery, crimson rocks they stood on before.

A circular platform that appeared to be fractured stood at the center of the entire lava floor. At the centre of it all stood a ruined Greek-type temple, with many of its columns scattered as if they had violently collided under immense gravitational pressure. Numerous statues of gods lay bare, broken, and profaned, as if intentionally mocking their divine might. The high ceiling had collapsed and become lodged in the ground. The scene gave the impression that demons had rebelled and cast the gods out of their heavenly abode. It was as if a rebellion led by a great demon general had taken place, and the entire place stood as a massive testament to a once-shattered glory.

"This is truly something Ulbert San would create," Lucian chuckled as he inspected the profanities etched onto the faces of various statues of gods, each representing Ulbert's unique touch when things didn't go his way. Most of these statues depicted gods from the Greek pantheon, a pantheon that Ulbert clearly found distasteful. Lucian was well aware of this, considering they had once shared similar inclinations. Together, they had even faced a Greek god-type boss monster.

"You and Ulbert San really do have similar tastes... Chunibyo!" Mizuki playfully teased, showing a sticking out tongue emoji in a mocking manner. However, her attempt fell flat as Lucian didn't respond to her comment. He continued forward, entering the already shattered temple.

The moment he stepped inside, he came across a single throne situated amidst all the desecration. The throne, in stark brilliant white, appeared as if meant for a divine being, but the figure seated upon it was certainly neither an angel nor a holy being.

Seated there was a tall demon with dark skin and impeccably combed hair. His eyes were concealed behind round glasses. He donned an orange striped British suit complete with a tie, and behind his back extended a metallic silver spiky tail with six distinct spikes.

« Demiurge serves as the floor guardian of the 7th floor and holds the responsibility of safeguarding this floor, along with overseeing the Blazing Temple.

He has the traits of a genius evil mastermind, with an intellect that rivals that of the Supreme Beings. His intelligence is matched by his strategic thinking. As a demon, Demiurge is inherently cruel, showing no empathy for any race, whether human, demon, or any other. As a chaotic being, he derives immense pleasure from witnessing the suffering of others. He derives joy from inducing hateful emotions and treacherous thoughts within the hearts of his subjects, often using them as instruments for his experiments.

Despite his sadistic nature, Demiurge possesses an artistic side. He is a skilled carpenter and artisan, taking delight in creating exquisite works of art. Tragically, his creations are often borne out of the suffering of those used as his inspiration. He reserves his kindness for the members of Nazarick and holds deep respect for his creator.

One of his defining traits is his immense pride in his role as the creation of the greatest demon with the highest magic attack, which also extends to the other creations of Nazarick. Demiurge also greatly respects his master's friend, Lucian, who embarked on a journey and never returned. He values Lucian as highly as his own creator.

Additionally, Demiurge also understands his role in being the judge of whether his sister should be permitted to leave her sealed place, recognizing the destructive potential she possesses. And the secrets she holds. »

"Whoa, he truly defines Ulbert's chunibyo personality," Lucian mused with a slight chuckle as he read through the story settings of the NPC. He also cherished the small subtle details of their adventures together that were written there, almost like a personalized fanfic (only he read it), giving the NPC more depth to draw upon.

"Right!" Mizuki chimed in enthusiastically, maintaining a firm grasp on Lucian's hand.

"But Demiurge isn't the only NPC, Lucian! Look," Mizuki said as she led Lucian to the opposite end of the pristine white throne. There, a faint crack in the space appeared, distorting the fabric of game, and space around it.

"A personal space?" Lucian asked, curiously gazing at the crack. Personal spaces allowed for the creation of secret locations within a base that could conceal monsters, NPCs, or even serve as treasuries. However, personal spaces had limitations and were not the most secure. They were relatively easy to discover, and their storage capacity was typically restricted, often expanding to no more than the size of a spacious room.

"Yeah! Ulbert-san hasn't told anyone about her. He has created another NPC. You should look at her settings. You'll be shocked! She has the exact armors as your old avatar!" Mizuki said with excitement. She is the only one who had seen it, thanks to Ulbert and Bukubukuchagama, both acting as if they had been heartbroken by Lucian. In fact, they even had an insider joke in the guild regarding that.

"Let's go," Mizuki said as she guided Lucian toward the crack in the space and tapped on the console. They were both teleported elsewhere.

Lucian immediately found himself inside what appeared to be a cave, with a lake surrounding the small cave. He was standing on a black platform made of sea rocks. The platform extended to a round platform with a small Rotunda supported by eight white porcelain columns, reminiscent of Demiurge's throne. A gap in the ceiling allowed beautiful blue light to shine upon the exquisite Rotunda, illuminating the entire cave as light bounced off the pristine white marble surface.

(Instead of a statue, there's an NPC there)

The cave was relatively small, feeling like a confined space with no visible exits. Only the platform led to the central area, giving it the appearance of a caged cave.

Lucian was drawn toward the beautiful place, momentarily forgetting about Mizuki. His feet carried him towards the center, where he found a new figure, one that eerily resembled himself.

The new NPC standing before him had golden blonde hair, reminiscent of Lucian's appearance before he became a Sin. Her hair was tied behind her back, and her eyes were a mesmerizing red. She wore a white and blue visor that covered her entire face, just like her full-body silver, gold, and blue armor covered her entire body. The armor resembled a gown with exquisite gold and blue embroidery and was adorned with four blue gems arranged in a cross at the center. It bore a striking resemblance to Lucian's own armor, which was an old divine-class gear that he rarely wore nowadays. Her face was also exceptionally beautiful.

(IMAGE HERE) (if any of you use webnovel, can you please post this image on the comment section of the chapter? I somehow can't comment images for some reason.)

To her left, within the Rotunda, a huge shield floated in a blue light along with a massive one-handed sword, both of which were the same colors as her armor. Lucian could immediately tell that all of her gear was divine class, judging by the amount of data used for the intricate details and skins on those weapons.

« A forgotten Guardian, an imperfect creation, she embodies the true essence of one who resides in the depths of darkness while wrestling with her inner demons. She represents what unbridled malevolence can achieve when fused with the power of light. As a guardian, she resides within the Cave of KageHikari, where only a small light pierces the darkest corners.

A quick-witted genius, she was specifically crafted for the sole purpose of tracking down the Supreme Being who abandoned the Great Demon of Disaster. Her inner light yearns to blaze brightly, and when the chains binding her are finally released, a relentless pursuit will begin, where she'll seek the being who once wielded destructive power rivaling that of the Great Demon of Disaster. Her journey shall end with her becoming bound to the light she seeks.

As a sister creation to Demiurge, she possesses a genius intellect equal to her brother's. However, she displays no interest in worldly affairs; her sole focus is to safeguard her sanctuary. It is within this sacred space that she reveres and strengthens her faith, preserving one of the holy relics of the True Light. When the day dawns upon her encounter with the embodiment of the True Light, the holy relic will grant her the right to serve him once more.

She stands as an astute figure, bowing to no authority, not even her own creator. Her purpose transcends her mere existence, fueled by the prophecy of the True Light.

Her words are few and seldom spoken, but the day of prophecy will usher in a transformation, for she will meet the one to whom she is eternally bound, serving for all eternity.

As a sister, she holds little regard for her brother, focusing solely on the duty of preserving the status quo until the day arrives when she discovers the True Light. She is unwavered in guarding of her sacred place. »

"Uwahhh!! No way! Did Ulbert just create a character who seems like another fucking yandere? She sounds like a serial killer, who will be chasing after me?!" Lucian couldn't contain his shock as he read through Luciette's character settings. Setting aside the name, which unmistakably bore striking resemblances to Lucian's own, there were undeniable similarities in their hair color, eye color, and armor. However, what puzzled him the most was the reference to a "Holy Relic," Lucian had no idea what it meant, nor was he eager to find out.

"Kumi-chan, do you think you could kindly ask Ulbert to adjust her settings, perhaps to make her more welcoming to me, if possible?" Lucian said with a sigh, his steps leading him away from the place, wanting to avoid the place. At that moment, he wasn't very inclined to discuss the character's creation process, understanding that creating such a character must have been time-consuming as fuck, for Ulbert. Nevertheless, he felt genuine appreciation for the thought and effort that Ulbert had poured into the character's settings and lore. Lucian truly thanked Ulbert for creating an NPC in his memory.

"Why don't you do it yourself?" Mizuki asked as she followed closely behind him.

"Sigh~ I'm embarrassed," Lucian admitted, a rare display of vulnerability as he scratched his cheek. Mizuki couldn't believe her eyes, witnessing Lucian make a gesture she'd never seen from him before.

"Wait! You're embarrassed to talk to them? Are you kidding me? You, of all people? Are you sure you're Lucian?! The same Lucian!!" Mizuki exclaimed, practically climbing all over Lucian in her excitement, taking advantage of her slimy body to tease him to the fullest.

If only it were that easy. It wasn't solely embarrassment that weighed on Lucian; he carried a heavy lump of guilt lodged in his throat, a burden he chose not to confront. Alongside guilt, there was an intense sense of betrayal festering within him. Meeting up with Ulbert might help rebuild their relationship, but the guilt remained, gnawing at Lucian's conscience. Moreover, the lingering feeling of exclusion still haunted him. He had no desire to dwell in the shadow of the past. This was why, upon hearing that Nine's own goals had shifted, leading to the creation of a guild named Ainz Ooal Gown, Lucian had made a firm decision to move on.

Creating his own guild and investing a hella lot of time and effort into constructing a guild base were expressions of his determination to surpass Ainz Ooal Gown. It was an attempt to help himself feel better and regain a sense of purpose. Lucian was well aware of the pettiness of his motivation, and it weighed on his conscience. He was deeply ashamed of the fact that he, too, had been driven by a desire for power despite recognizing that the blame didn't lie solely with others. Yet, he couldn't help himself. In the end, Lucian was still human, a subject to the whims of human nature, including moments of pettiness.

"I would honestly love to have a good conversation with Ulbert. But, I think I'll be better off moving on from my previous clan's shadow," Lucian said. Despite the avatar remaining emotionless, his voice carried a melancholic tone, which Mizuki undoubtedly noticed.

"Don't worry, though. I'll always play with you. Although I'm a member of Ainz Ooal Gown, I'm also a member of the LL Stan Group!" Mizuki said, pumping her fist in the air, her slimy hand smashing the air and wiggling.

"Thanks, Kumi-chan. But what is that LL Stan Group you are talking about?" Lucian asked in a very polite and kind tone. Then, his voice shifted to a more threatening tone as he held her shoulders and exerted pressure.

"Ahhh, that's... I also just discovered it yesterday. It's because of Mei-chan," Mizuki muttered, trying her best to avoid the conversation but failing miserably.

"Well, if you can't tell, I'll have to ask Mei Mei," Lucian said as he let go of her shoulders and began walking down the path that led to the platform from which they had come.

"Wait! Are we going to the next floor?" Mizuki asked as she ran up to him.

"Yeah, the 8th floor, right?" Lucian replied, patting her head.

"Unfortunately, we can't go to the 8th floor. It's under construction right now. Everyone except a few who are working on it are prohibited from entering. Sorry, I don't know much about coding and stuff, so I don't have any project on the 8th floor, and I can't access it," Mizuki explained, holding her hands together in an apologetic gesture.

"Oh, what are they creating?" Lucian asked, his curiosity piqued by her words.

"I don't know, they are creating some defense mechanism and trying to make the 8th floor into an unconquerable floor, so whoever invades is unable to get past that floor," Mizuki replied honestly, sharing what she knew about the floor plan.

"Interesting... I won't ask for any secrets, though. I've also created a similar place in my guild," Lucian said, giving a playful smile emoji.

"Really? Can I visit your guild next time!?" Mizuki asked, curiosity shining in her eyes.

"Be my guest. In fact, I wouldn't mind if you joined my guild," Lucian said with a smiley emoji. However, Bukubukuchagama immediately refused.

"I'm sorry, but I wouldn't do that. I've signed a contract, and breaking it would be pretty bad," Mizuki explained, shaking her head. After the guild's establishment, contracts were made that prevented players from leaving the guild without very explicit reasons. Any trivial reasons, such as joining for the benefit of another guild or leaving personal amusement, would be labeled as betrayal.

"Well, you can be an unofficial member of Vice Requiem," Lucian suggested, laughing as Mizuki brought her console out and punched the air with a happy laugh. "Yeah!"

She then tapped on her console, and they immediately vanished in a flash of light, appearing in a totally different room and floor.
