(Clara’s pov)

I was at the bar today was a slow day not that I was complaining I liked slow days

I wiping the shakers off the shakers when someone came and took a seat

“The usual” she ordered

After seeing my customer, I got to making her drink

“Here you are Jenny” I said as I put her drink before her

“You look very happy tonight” she said as she took a sip

“You could say that” I replied with a smile

“Aha, it’s that boy” she said with a sly smile

I give a vague sideway nod

“Come on, I think you can give me more than that” she cries out when I don’t say anything further

“Ok, we’re going out on a date later after my shift ends” I finally spill

“You have to tell me later how it goes” she says and we get to chatting

I liked slow days

(Cains pov)

I came out the airport

I had come here for a different reason but now instead I was leaving it richer than I had entered it

I had it, I had more money than I could spend, with this I had enough to disappear and not just me I could bring Alice and Clara with me and give them a better life then they had

I had finally achieved what I wanted for a long time but I was too happy because now things were looking worse as time went on

New things kept popping up and none of them were good news

So, that's why after weighing my options I had opted to take the money instead and yes, I could have demanded more from Demetri but I did not want any more complications after what he just told me, because after what I had learned, time had now become more valuable

There were some big things going to happen and looks like I was going to be pulled into it if I stayed here any longer

Looks like I never managed to shake off the people that were after me

Plus 15 million was a lot even after I give some to Joshua for all his troubles and sufferings, I would still have enough left to live a very good life

I got on my bike and started to drive to Clara’s work I was taking her on a date tonight, I thought I should, I mean I was asking her to move someplace far with me I should at least do something romantic, shouldn’t I  but I was not some romantic bug so a date was all I could come up with

Yeah I know it's sad

But after losing every one of your friends, your family, it felt good to have someone to care for and have people who would also think of you

When you lose your home you lose yourself

when you are all alone just knowing that even if you died in that moment and no one would care really messes with the mind

They said it right you really don’t know how important something is until you have lost it

I reached the place but I was surprised there was a crowd in the parking lot usually its empty with only a few people with

Today there were a lot of them it was really a big crowd

I parked my bike and approached the crowd

“Is something happening” a fight maybe I thought well whatever it was I would soon know since they were in my way  between me and the club

I pushed through the crowd there were a lot of people but slowly I managed to get past them to a clearing

But as soon as I was free and able to see what was in front of me, I was again blocked by a police tape

There were cops around the place and also and ambulance

But I wasn’t paying any attention to them anymore

The noise coming from the crowd behind me started to go down as voices started to disappear but what replaced it was a ringing in my ears

The world started to slow down like someone had dialled the speed back and my mind went blank my thoughts stopped and my vision went narrow focusing on one thing

I stood in place for what I think was like an hour for me, but I didn’t know how much time had actually gone by, could have been a second in reality or even more than an hour

My phone started ringing, I took it out and put it against my ear

"You should have taken my brother's words seriously, did you really think you'd go scott free after what you did, well you're next" as the caller was talking my hand went limp and I dropped the phone

But I didn’t care as I started to take steps forward with an expressionless face, but every move I made felt slow

Someone, I think a cop tried to stop me after a few steps but soon woman came from nowhere and started to argue with him and while they were busy with each other, I passed by them

I didn’t hear What they were saying, I wasn’t really paying much attention to anything really for that matter, my eyes were focused on one thing and one thing only

I took slow steps and when I got there, I kneeled down on the pavement

I took her arm and held it in mine as I stared

At Clara

She was there on the floor

Unmoving

Cold

I stayed there holding her hand, silent

Not blinking

Not moving

I just sat there and stared at her

Until the same woman that was talking to the officer came up and put her hand on my shoulder

“You must me Cain” she said her voice was weak and broken “I’m Jenny I, I knew her, she was a good friend she told me about you and she really did seem happy when she mentioned you, which was rare for her” she said to me but she got no reply back

“I sorry for what happened” her voice sounded like she was on the verge of breaking down

“I, I’m sorry” she wanted to say some more but could not hold back anymore and went away with tears

But till the end she got no reply from me

I did not even turn to look at her my whole focus was in front of me

I did not know how or what to do

I wanted to move but my body didn’t listen

I wanted to cry but nothing flowed out

I wanted to shout but no sound came out

As I held her hand and sat there in the night

As the sky started to cloud up and thunder started to rumble

I sat there not letting go
