To Charles of Gren Monastery,
I have received your request to approve an investigation into a suspected vampire, and I approve this request as well as the 50 requested doubloons. Have Exorcist Wren meet with my staff to receive the fund. I want a record of every reales spent at the end of the investigation.
I have received a letter from that Gen Mahler. I agree with him that the Exorcists need to look into the rumors of a witch cult. I have received information from the capital that witch cults have been appearing around our archipelago. As for the info about Hem the Vile Sorcerer, I suggest you have Excorsist Wren examine the monument throughout his investigation.
How are the monastary’s preparations for Fenlunch going? I expect a report as soon as possible.
Sincerely,
Countess Meden of Gren
Memo to Records Department-
May I request the conclusion and final notes from the Exorcist Team sent to Lenal in 1547?
Memo to Supervisor-
Why are we even looking into some old case?
Note from supervisor: I doubt the Records Department will send your first request detective Oat. I will pass it on, but if they wanted to send us that we would have gotten everything all at once. My guess is that a lot of these documents are classified. They send a request to unseal our needed documents up the ladder and then, after a week or two, they get us our documents.
As for why we are investigating this case, before I say anything I want to make sure what I say is not spread outside of our branch. The thread tree is suspected to be a living organism rather than just an omen. Now that by itself is nothing surprising, if anyone outside of here asks that is what we will say we investigating. The real reason is because the chief of our department believes that this event how’s something to do with godhood. He asked the head of our branch to help him look into it. He believes the field department is behind a couple of our newer cases, it seems to him as if they are preparing something disastrous.
Memo to Records department-
Could I have the report from Exorcist Wren?
Note from supervisor: Which note? This is a bit too vague for the records department. Do you want the spending records, the background, or something else. Keep in mind the more info we ask for the longer we will have to wait for all of it. I mean our department asked for records for a case a couple of months ago, and we are only getting one or two letters a week. I would say something is wrong, if I hadn’t been working with those bureaucratic freaks for the past twenty years.
