Chapter 3 – The Birth

 

The letters sure is suspicious, I mean the queen herself never shows up in the public. But everyone knows her name. Her name is Momo Tea Liander. The three words name shows that she is a nobleman. Well, she is the queens, so different from me who is just a waiters from a small village.

“… what to do now?”

“Do I just go, or…”

I fall asleep at that time...

The next day, when I try to look some food for breakfast. I see a girl talking to a food sellers.

“Two skewers,”

“Here you go”

“Thank you”

She sounds like a teenager, after she receive the skewers, she walks into a building near the food stall.

“I never seen her here before,”

Is she a new tenant? Or a daughter of a family that just moved here?

“If so, I must have known who she was… and she enter the building…huh?”

Isn’t that,

“Holy, wha-?” I dumbfounded

That is the building that I read on the map in the letter yesterday.

“Hey,”

“WAAHH!!!”

“HANCUK~”

“You scared me!”

“I just say hey, what is wrong with you?”

“Ah, nothing”

I just realise, he is Alvern.

“What’s wrong?” He asked.

“Well, nothing, I just want to buy some food for breakfast”

“That’s coincidence, me too. I did not get any breakfast back home,”

“What are you doing here?”

“I want to go to a tavern, need to meet someone there while buying a breakfast”

“There?” I pointed to the building where the girls entered.

“Yes”

“….”

Is he? No, I don’t think so, maybe he comes here just for business.

“May I join? The breakfast”

“Sure, let’s go”

When we enter the building,

“Welcome, come on in.” Said the girl that I just saw.

“A table for two, is the bartender here?” said Alvern.

“Yes, he is still inside, I will call him” The girl run into a room that looks like the kitchen.

Both of us nod, and walk into the available seat in the bartender’s table.

“May I help you sir?” Said the bartender when he came out from the kitchen.

“Wha- you, you were…”

“Ah? Yes, I’m the townsguard that help you yesterday” He said while cleaning up the glasses.

“U-uhh…” I got a bit traumatized

“Please, relax.. I was doing my job yesterday” He said calmly.

“Pfffttt…”

“Don’t laugh!!”

“Sorry-sorry” Said Alvern while closing his mouth.

I tried to calm myself,

“Ehem, my name is Amsir” He introduced himself while preparing a glass of water(?)

“Amsir, do you know how the world seen from behind?” Asked Alvern

Huh?

“Hmm..”

“Umm, actually I have a same question as him”

“You too?” Said Amsir while preparing the drink, then serve us.

“Please, it’s on us”

He serves us two glasses of brown water.

“…” Me and Alvern watch each other, then try to drink it.

“What is that?” Suddenly someone asked me from my side.

Before I drink it, I look towards the sound coming, she is the girl that called the bartender.

“Umm, a tea? You want it?” I do not know if it is a tea or not. I never seen an alcoholic drink with brown color before.

“Yeah, may i?”

“Sure,”

I give her the glass, and she start to drink it.

“Sir, it’s actually a beer”

“What?” I surprised, and accidentally hit the glass that the girl is holding it with my right hand.

Crash~ *sounds of the glass broke on the floor*

“Ah, sorry” I panicked

I look around and see a cloth on the table.

I take it and starting clean up her dress.

The water got her chest and down to her skirt.

“Please stand still, or you might get hurt, a lot of glass fragment on the floor and might get into your skirt” While cleaning her clothes carefully. (Of course I need to touch her body to clean it)

“You are a good guy, I like you”

“Ah, thanks” I feel embarrassed

“Sigh~ so, is he pass?” Ask Amsir to her

“Yes,”

“What? What pass?”

“Actually, you guys were tested by the queen herself”

”Wh-what? Where?” I ask nervousely.

“She is in front of you,” Someone suddenly talk from nowhere.

“Hi Zex, you are here too”

I see Zexalone appeared from the kitchen.

“What do you mean she is in front of me?”

“Obviously, she is the queen”

“This girl?” I look back at the girl.

My hand stopped from cleaning her chest area (still dirty, and several glass fragment still can be seen)

“Yes, nice to meet you.” Said the girl cheerfully.

I fall unconsciously.

When I woke up,

“Uhh,”

“Hey, you finally awake” Said Zexalone

“You were trying to harras the queen, huh? How does it feel?” he continues

I suddenly get up from remembering what just happened before I fell.

“No, no, I was just cleaning the-“ I look at the girl standing beside Zexalone.

“Ahhh, I’m sorry” I bent myself down to apologize the queen.

“Wait, is she really?” I look up to her again.

“Yes, Let me introduce myself again. My name is Momo Tea Liander. I’m the queen of Gram kingdom, nice to meet you”

It was real.

“Ahh, umm, nice to meet you.” I hardly able to speak clearly.

“So, shall we start?” Said Amsir.

“Sure” Said the queen.

I just realize that the room is pretty dim, with several candles on each table to bright the room.

It is just me, Alvern, Zexalone, The queen, and Amsir here sitting round the round table.

The window and the door closed.

“You are the final candidate Kino” Said the queen.

“Me? What candidate?”

“Let’s start from why we put on an advertisement to recuit people to join the military” Amsir start to talk

“Hey, what candidate?” I’m trying to ask of why I am here.

“Other than to increase our troops, we also look for the last candidate for BC team” The queens continue to explain while taking paper from Amsir.

I don’t even have time to say anything.

“This BC team will act separately from generally what a military would do”

“So, we need a member for this team that all of them doesn’t have a lot of experience in martial arts, swordmanship, or anything like that”

“Why? Because we need members that able to blend perfectly into society”

“Why so extreme? I mean, the member requirements” Asked Alvern.

“In order to avoid any confrontation, problems, also suspicion” Said the queen with serious look.

“I see, so why it is called BC?”

“BC is the team name. It abbreviated from Back Coin”

“What a lame team name,” Said Zexalone

“Yes, I know it’s lame..” Said the queen that almost crying.

“You made a woman cry” Said Alvern

“Yes, yes, you made a woman cry” I follow up to insult him

“Huh?” Zexalone surprised

“You will never get a girl if you cannot make a woman happy” Said Alvern while crossing his arm

“Hmm.. Hmm…” I’m nodding

“It’s okay” Said the queen.

“It was an act”

“Please don’t do that, I beg you” Said Zexalone.

“”Ahahaha…”” We laughed together except Zexalone.

“The BC name is just a team name, It means that people who worked hard behind the scenes”

“I see what you mean there, that is why you need people like us to make the blend in society works well” Said Alvern.

“Yes”

“So, why me?” I cut their conversation, and ask

“”BECAUSE YOU ARE STILL INNOCENCE AND VIRGIN”” They speak together even Amsir.

IT HURTS!!!

“Bu- but..” I’m trembling

“Don’t worry, you will be an adult soon” Said Zexalone.

“Of course I will!!”

“”Ahahaha…”” They are laughing

“Okay, before we give you a mission. We will train you” Said Amsir

“Are we going to train like the soldier do?” I ask

“No, you guys will train very differently” Said Amsir

“You guys will be given some materials about magic, that is the daily life magic type, how to speak if needed when you are facing nobleman or anyperson that needs to be respected, and your mental when facing with a lot of people” He continues

“It will be done in two days,”

Me, Zexalone, and Alvern gulped.

“Do not worry, even if you cannot pass the standart, you are pretty good enough to blend the society” Said Amsir with confidence.

“You mean like, sitting in the corner and hear the surrounding?”

“No, that will not do”

“You must interact with the society like your daily live”

“I see, okay I got it” Said Alvern.

“Yes, we can start the training in the evening” Said the queen.

“”Yes mam””

“No, no, please, don’t say like that. Just call me Momo. So no one will suspicious about me”

When we are waiting for the training, I asked how Alvern and Zexalone got chosen by the queen.

“Me? Since I live near the central capital, the queen shows herself one day. Ehem, I mean Momo”

I see the queen still here listening to our conversation.

“She showed herself when I almost close my shop, and asked me to join a team that created by her”

“And you accept?”

“At first I don’t, because it will be more work for me. But…”

“He accept it after I said, I will give you a lot of materials for you to experiment” Said Momo.

Alvern nodded cheerfully.

“My god, how about you?” I asked Zexalone

“Because a beautiful lady asked me” He said.

“….” I look at Momo,

“Yes, when I visit his home and he answered it quickly”

I cannot say anything.

“So, since when you pay attention to me? I mean watching me?” I asked Momo,

“Since you register at yesterday events”

“Huh? I did not see you”

“I’m beside the register lady”

“WHAT!!”

Since that time?

“And when you were down, and got called by them” She is giggling

“My god, that was so embarrassing”

“Well, we helped Momo too to find suitable person for the last member” Said Alvern.

“Last member? So the member will be just us?”

“For now, but maybe it will increase in the future”

“Alright guys, let’s start the training” Said Amsir when he come in from outside.

Then, our training starts now…
