Mont Noir, it’s a town located at the base of the obsidian range, this is the city of dreams, a point of start for any adventurer as a lot of them who come from different parts of the world come here to pick their starter kits but also because in the obsidian range there’s a lot of precious minerals, so, strong people who aren’t afraid of the dangerous creatures that roam around the mountains love to come here to explore and get some cool minerals, sorcerers love this place especially because they can find the materials they need for their potions.

 

Yes, that’s in resume what you can find here in Mont Noir, big and beautiful mountains with dark tops, beautiful rivers and lakes that surround the city alongside the beautiful forest that surrounds the road for the next city.

 

However, things have changed since a few weeks ago because the image the world has of Mount Noir is gone, this humble yet amazing city changed, its happy population has completely disappeared, the biggest mineral market in the world is gone, and the streets are completely free of humans, and the place is on a state of a perpetual night.

 

However, during these conditions, there is another species that has been on the rise, because when the biggest predator on earth disappears, another one will rise, that’s a law in nature, this place is now filled with cats!

 

They’re everywhere, they’re the ones that occupy the houses, and the roofs, many native animals have disappeared due to the fear of having this invasive predator dominating this city, even dogs have disappeared, and the rise of the cats it’s all thanks to a certain someone.

 

For, that we need to travel to the city hall, where there are a lot of posters depicting a grey cat wearing a necklace with a heart-shaped purple stone, the posters of this cat are everywhere, and the city hall is filled with cats too, however, in this place we can find the one responsible for making this city into a cat paradise.

 

Inside the top floor of the city hall, there’s a man with a grey cloak and long hair, he has his hands joined as he stares with a wicked smile at the city’s current state, the man suddenly pulls a staff, confirming that he’s indeed a sorcerer. 

 

“They’re gone, and they’re replaced with cats… The plan has been a success, nothing could stop me now!” The man suddenly said before he started to laugh.

 

He was laughing like crazy until he heard a cat meowing, and there it was, sitting on the mayor’s chair, the grey cat of the posters and he didn’t look satisfied, also he was fatter than in the posters.

 

“Oh… Yes, right sir, I’m such an idiot… Of course, it’s all thanks to your orders your Highness Sir whiskers!” The man suddenly bowed after the cat who after a few moments climbed on the desk to look with superiority at the human who was bowing due to the respect he has for the feline. however, the feeling wasn't returned, the cat didn’t seem to harbor any respect towards this human, he was looking at him with complete disgust, but because the cat needed him, he didn’t do anything to him because this might sound like crazy but yes.

 

This chubby cat here who might look so chubby and cute is the epitome of evil, all the decisions and all the things that have happened to this town are caused by the orders this cat gave to this sorcerer who has seemed to give up his humanity just to serve this cat.

 

“I’m at your orders Sir Whiskers…” The sorcerer said pathetically and the cat didn’t release any sound.

 

“You need to know your place Jaggin… Just because you raised me and we’re using your powers to make this into a great place doesn’t mean you can take all the credit!” The cat said in cat language.

 

For the rest of the world, the cat was just meowing angrily, but the sorcerer could understand every word the cat said, and judging by the scared reaction of the sorcerer, he clearly understood very well what the gray cat was telling him.

 

“You’re right your highness… I’m so sorry for disrespecting you like that,” Jaggin maintained the apologizing position, and the cat was so angry that it looked like he was going to attack the sorcerer.

 

“Rise human… You’re forgiven but don’t ever dare to forget what’s your position!” The sorcerer’s face suddenly changed from a sad to a happy expression, he got on his feet and ran as fast as he could towards the cat who had raised his paw.

 

And it didn’t take too long before Jaggi kissed the paw.

 

“Thank you for your benevolence your highness, I would do anything for you, just tell me what you need and we’re going to do it!” Jaggi was motivated right now.

 

The cat suddenly moved to another desk where there were many books and a map of the world.

 

“Look at this Jaggin… We already finished with the colonization plans of this city… It’s time to move for the next one, and then, we’re going to get the world!” The cat said with a scary expression and the sorcerer couldn’t help but gulp.

 

“But your highness… If we do that we can get in trouble with the high commands back in Sorcerer City!” The man loved this cat however, messing with those very important people didn’t sound so good in his mind.

 

“Don’t worry, we’re going to take things slow, after all, our army is growing rapidly, now that the stray cats have been released from the animal centers without being neutered, there’s nothing to stop us from achieving this, don’t worry, we’re going to make it possible… And you know why?” Asked the grey cat in a motivated tone.

 

“Why’s that, Sir?” Jaggi was nervous but he knew better than to stop this cat from his plans.

 

“Cats are one of the few species on this earth since the start of times who have been able to get rid of the competition, cats have managed to overcome obstacles, we have managed to completely disappear native species, and only humans are on par on but we have an advantage… It takes less for cats to multiply and contrary to humans cats aren’t born alone, having many siblings is not rare for us, is the standard actually, contrary to you humans who barely can have more than one child per gestation!” The cat chuckled at his words and the sorcerer couldn’t help but gulp.

 

This was a very crazy idea, cats are indeed superior to most humans, but the top sorcerers are no joke.

 

“The era of men has ended… Let’s welcome the new era of cats,” The cat stared at the window before he looked at the sorcerer. “Or are you scared Jaggi? Are you going to deny this to me?” The cat suddenly looked at the sorcerer with an angry look.

 

“Your Highness… Ever since I found you in the streets as a baby, alone, crying, and on the verge of death, I promised myself that I’m going to use everything I can to make you happy, I made that promise… Do you remember that?” The sorcerer asked with a serious expression.

 

“Yes… Of course, I remember that promise… It happened ten years ago, my whole family had been eaten by a pack of dogs, somehow they spared me, a big mistake on their part indeed… You took care of all of them,” the cat moved and started to circle his supposed owner.

 

“I’m not going to lie to you… I’m scared, however, if conquering the world would make you happy, then, I’m all set for it, my promise still stands, I’m going to do everything I can to make you happy,” The sorcerer said with an expression full of confidence.

 

“Good… We’re going to take a few days off to plan this carefully, also… I need to talk to you about the other part of the plan,” The sorcerer nodded at his cat’s words. “But let’s stop with this, I’m getting bored, why don’t you take me with the cattle?” Asked the cat with a surprisingly calm expression before he landed on a purple pillow with gold threads.

 

“Yes your highness, you’ll be surprised that they’ve been treated properly!” The sorcerer chuckled before he picked up the pillow with the cat on it, and the small animal was in a sphinx position as they moved around the place.

 

This place looked more like a temple, and the god of this temple was this cat, there were many posters with different pictures of this grey cat, but it seems like they were somehow altered because he looked better in those posters than in his real form.

 

The sorcerer took the cat outside of the city hall, to be more precise of the backyard that surprisingly was positioned outside the window where the pair was chatting a few moments ago.

 

The scene in front of them could cause anyone to vomit as it was too awful, and yet, the cat-owner pair was happily staring at the scene of a huge stable but this place was filled with dogs who looked tired, and there were a lot of them who didn’t look healthy.

 

“Look at what we have here… My pathetic enemies, look at you, you look awful!” The cat said in a tone full of hate.

 

The dogs started to bark and jump the moment they saw this cat, and many of them tried to reach the owner and the cat.

 

“Jaggi… Get me close to them,” the owner nodded and he did as he was told.

 

The height of the barrier made the cat feel secure about approaching all these hundred dogs, nevertheless, there was one pitbull who dared to defy this cat, this dog managed to put his paws on top of the barrier, and he had a plaque with his name, “rocky” it could be read, but even with his amazing efforts, he was unable to climb it.

 

“Take this and this!” The cat suddenly started to slap the dog’s face and it didn’t take too long before his paws reached one of his eyes causing the poor dog to fall from the barrier making painful sounds.

 

“See… That’s what happens when you’re an inferior species, and if you think you have the chance to destroy me, then wait for my next plan… Jaggi I want you to make me immortal!” The cat ordered his owner and the sorcerer nodded.

 

“Let’s just wait until our dear door finally catches a weak sorcerer and then we’d be all set and ready to make you immortal,” The owner said with a calm expression.

 

“Let’s get out of here… The smell is disgusting, take me with my human toys!” The cat was starting to get angry.

 

Jaggi nodded and they moved to another place in the city hall, it was a playroom with many things that cats love like wood for their paws, boxes, threads, and many other things, however, the cat was more excited for other reasons.

 

Suddenly Jaggi threw on the ground a bunch of small toys that had a human form but these toys looked to be artificial, and with a movement of his staff, all the toys started to move and act like humans, mini humans, and it didn’t take too long before the cat started to happily chase them as if they were insects while the humans were screaming scared.

 

Meanwhile, on the other side of the city…

 

Falling from the sky, a swordswoman and a sorcerer appeared from a weird portal, and they couldn’t stop themselves from screaming, they knew they were going to die, not even the swordswoman would be able to save them from the fall.

 

“Kazz… This is dangerous… Do something!” She said completely scared.

 

“I’m trying, I’m trying!” The sorcerer said just as scared as her.

 

And then, he started to say a lot of words at a surprisingly fast pace, it was unintelligible already because the sorcerer was using an extinct language, and with the pace he was using the sounds were reaching painful levels as the girl couldn’t help but cover her ears, hearing her friend talk like that hurt her ears.

 

The sorcerer was having a hard time trying to save himself and Alleena from the fall, it didn’t matter how much he tried, the speed didn’t decrease, the floor was getting closer and closer, and he realized that it might be over, so, he hugged the girl and he placed her on top of him.

 

She looked at him with a scared expression, she knew what he was trying to do, and not even he knew why he was doing this, but he just prepared himself for the unavoidable end.
