Chapter 4

After selecting my lucky four numbers I decided to fall asleep. I was drunk and tired, but the conviction born in me to change for the better was still burning brightly.

"WAKE UP IT IS 6 AM, WAKE UP IT IS 6 AM, WAKE UP."

When I heard the alarm ringing it was 6 am I wanted to wake up, but something stopped me from doing that.

'Do I really need to get up and work? Do I even need to look for a job?'

This train of thought prevented me from getting up. When I finally woke up it was noon.

"Ah, this is the first time I have really enjoyed my sleep."

I said that while stretching my body parts on the bed. The hangover was almost non-existent after waking up this late.

I hurriedly went into the bathroom to have a bath and brush my teeth. When I was done with this simple hygiene task, I decided to sit behind my study desk and see if I could sprout any idea to make money.

But before doing anything of such I decided to see if I won the lottery yesterday. And Surprisingly only one number failed me and that was the 25. The number that came was 24 11 20 23.

"Hahahahah how ironic." I was not displeased at all by the outcome but quite happy that I had been able to take the first steps towards greatness.

So, with that out of the way, I think I now know what to do to make money like really quickly and that is sports betting. I think this form of making money is faster than stock trading and also better if you are able to compare the gains if one wins most of the time.

Like what my classmates usually say;" Football is mathematics." And lucky for me I was good at Mathematics.

I first took my phone and registered on a betting platform. I then decided to look through the matches that were supposed to be played today.

Lucky for me today was Saturday meaning a lot of games were there to stake money on.

On the platform, I saw Tottenham playing against Aston Villain and decided to look at the market that had been given to me. I knew a lot about football but never decided to get involved in the game financially, but it seems I will be breaking that code today.

I knew Tottenham has been defensively poor recently but still been critical up front and similar could be said about Aston Villa who have been looking to prove themselves worthy of being called one of the best.

So, I decided to go with Over 2.5 goals coming in the game which means there will be 3 goals or more in the match. The selection had 1.64 odds which was quite good from my perspective. I decided to add another match to see if I could add another boost to it which would make my odds more than 2.

I wanted to stake $100 on the slip which would help me get double the money I was going to invest in less than 24 hours. So, I looked through and saw Brighton playing against Nottingham Forest. This match was interesting because I knew both teams would be able to score each other. 

Nottingham has always made it a must to score against teams that are not part of the Big 6 and also conceded goals against any team that has good attacking potential. And good for me Brighton has just that. So, for this selection, I chose the Both Teams to Score option which gave me 1.83 odds. When I was done with my analysis and looking through my selection for the last time, I stake $100 on the slip. 

With my $100 gone, I now had only $875 left in my bank account. 

"This bet really needs to win," I said to myself as I looked at my phone.

As I continued to look at my pot win, I could not wait until I heard the final whistle. But I had to relax and do other things I promised myself I would change.
