"Erwin it is about time you get married." My mother told me out of nowhere and it seemed as if the entire room had heard what she said.
"I guess you're right and this is a prime time to get a bride with all the kings of Europe here." after saying that I got a bunch of marriage requests coming from Portugal to the grand principality of Novgorod. most of the requests were denied but one request that stood out amongst the others was the one from the French.

"Kaiser Erwin" The French king called out to me while I was eating a slice of pork "I heard that you were unmarried. Is that true?"
I nodded my head "Yes, and let me guess you have someone to propose to me."
"Yes I do, My daughter Joan is only a year younger than you and is very beautiful."
"what else do I get from this marriage?" I asked
He looked around for a second "A secure western front unrestricted trade and the second most powerful European nation as an ally."
I thought for a moment before deciding
'I have no reason to refuse the offer other than their history in my past life by I don't see why that would actually be important in this world. so why the hell not get an alliance.'
"I accept" I say
The French king smiled "So when will you help me with my war against the English?"
'Fuck, I forgot about that.'
"...Soon" I said reluctantly
Ignoring my hesitance the French king seemed to be in a jovial mood and began drinking happily and the room returned back to the way it was before my whole not being married was brought up fairly quickly. Probably because of the French man blabbing about how his daughter will marry me. there was the exception of the English king who was seething especially after I had denied his request with my excuse being that his daughter wasn't a virgin which wasn't something I particularly care about usually but I just wanted to keep up appearances or it could be because I said I would have rather married a man than his ugly daughter.
