Proofreader: Me (A short chapter, so I decided to release it sooner than planned.)

The anomaly- my friend, Luke, had been working very hard. From when he had exceeded my expectations, allowing me to cast [Fate Reversal], and gaining Floreis’ recognition, I had seen it all. I’ve also watched his spars with the demon king’s daughter.

Seeing such determination from a person not present before, he had opened my eyes further.

It was a chance presented to me, the world’s lone regressor.

I had finally found my path. Luke’s growth, along with his actions, suggested he knew that love was the biggest obstacle. That had shown me that he was capable of changing this world’s fate. Therefore, it was clear. I would use my knowledge from the past six regressions to build a foundation we could both stand on.

However, there were many complications. The main one is Abel Castelle, the so-called ‘Greatest Hero.’

I was stuck in this academy until graduation. Everything, everything was truly against me. But it wouldn’t be the same for Luke.

“Hmm…” I was watching him in homeroom, looking for any kind of reaction.

These beliefs had solidified in my mind, making him the top priority. While I cultivated my mana, I felt myself growing stronger passively. And if there was something he needed, I would move.

As such, when he let out a despairing sigh I couldn’t help but offer help. Considering his recent training, it only made sense that I let him have the leftovers of the Divine Elixir. Although he seemed confused, he accepted it anyway and seemingly dozed off into space.

Badump. Badump. Badump.

Traces of a heart beating alerted my presence detection skill. I wanted to exit and figure out what it was, but Luke remained here. And perfectly, as if responding to my wishes, he dashed out with the paladin after talking with the warrior.

-x-

The heartbeats had been the interruption of demonic scum, implanting their experimental Deviliser into a senior. They also had kidnapped the Priest, leaving her in his room, as some sort of cruel joke.

Although unexpected, I wished to see the acclimation of the anoma- Luke’s efforts. Thus, I floated amongst the skies, observing the meeting between Abel and Luke, as well as the pitiable sight of the Fairy Queen.

I pledged myself to her for a total of a day and a half, hoping to receive the blessing which would spur my growth. But, it seems it would be given to Luke instead.

Soon after, I witnessed the fight between him and the demon senior.

“Go for it…”I had silently cheered on from afar, interrupting would do him no favours. Furthermore, since Abel had interfered, there would be no one to help immediately.

It seemed to be his victory, from how he knocked him out with my teachings.

Zwisshh!

Black streams of mana rose from the unconscious body, creating a spear of pure darkness.

“No!” My voice had raised subconsciously.

Luke’s life was in danger, and I couldn’t help but react immediately. I erected a barrier of my mana mixed with my life force.

No one would be allowed to hurt my…

My what…?

I stood on the ground motionless, only regaining the grasp on myself after the Priest’s arrival.

A carnival of whites filled the land, displaying the prowess of a saint. This power would be immensely more powerful in the future, yet it still wouldn’t be enough.

Luke’s body was being caressed warmly.

For some reason… it didn’t feel right.

Seven regressions had passed by, yet… this feeling I had thought was buried away resurfaced. Along with the familiar emotions, they had begun to liven a memory from the far past.

It was an image, of myself and the crown prince embracing one another.

Disgust. Bitterness. Envy.

I felt myself drown in a pool of conflicting emotions…

“Uwaaaaahhhh!”

My eyes fluttered open, witnessing the reality before me. There were two bodies on the ground, both the Priest and Luke knocked out cold.

So… Serina would you mind helping?” The warrior asked impolitely.

“…” I nodded but only picked up Luke with my mana. “Goodbye.”

“Eh… that’s it?”

I left behind the dispirited child, pondering about what may transpire tomorrow. With the changing events of the world, I at least knew that I’d support its saviour…

In the air, I only looked at the face that ran wild in my mind.

“Somehow, this feels good…?”

His peaceful face had a unique prowess I couldn’t describe.
