Lei Yan knew that if he were to use them on him, he would be immediately crushed under their weight. And so with a thought, the previously tangible and metallic chains evaporated into nothingness as if they'd never existed before, leaving Junior still shellshocked as he hovered there unmoving.

"Enough idling," Lei Yan suddenly said from a distance. And so using a technique, he split the control over the array formation with that dragonfly and retreated.

Feeling a new energy, and more so newfound control over the sleeping weapon, Junior's mouth hung wide open as he followed after him.

Before he could even say his long list of grateful words, Lei Yan cut him off, "You'll be the bait." He said, "And the moment you see the viper coming immediately run inside and use that weapon to control her, okay?"

"Understood!" Junior replied without the slightest bit of fear.

"You're not afraid?" Lei Yan intrigued by his reaction asked as they continued walking along the exit.

"Of course not," Junior said confidently, "A mere lower bloodline worm can't make me feel anything."

Lei Yan's tilted his head to the side as he glanced at him, not knowing from where he got all of that courage. And so, Junior remained at the entrance of the colony, and Lei Yan continued to where the fight was happening.

Along the way he suddenly encountered the hundreds of Ants rushing back to their colony, and his eyes lit up.

He was still in his Fire God Ant form, and so he confidently walked in their direction. The moment they noticed him, the previously calm and orderly swarm of ants became frantic. Their speed increased, their antennas twitched from one side to the next, and they dashed in his direction.

When they were but a few paces away from him, they became encircling him and moving at the same time. Even the awakened ones of the bunch followed the same dance as they all welcomed him.

The Fire Spirit accompanying him seemed to resonate with that as well because it began to expand itself and sent walls of harmless flames toward the ants as if greeting them back as well.

Witnessing all of this unfolding before his eyes, Lei Yan's desire for more power only grew. Slowly but surely he wasn't just adapting to life as an insect, but loving it!

His right foreleg suddenly rose, and with it, everyone halted their steps at the same time.

"Good," He mumbled. "Those who understand step forward."

Out of the circle composed of hundreds of ants, eight of them stepped forward, looking at him with reverence in their eyes.

"I am sure I don't need to explain myself very much," Lei Yan said seriously as he looked at each and every one of them. "The old rule has crumbled, and the rightful heir to the ants is here."

However, internally he was sweating, 'Sounds too extravagant, I hope they buy it.' But from their expressions and the subtle feelings he could sense through their shared connections, he knew that they were more than overjoyed.

With that, he continued, "Your old superiors were incompetent. Their stupidity and greed would have led to all of your deaths if I hadn't intervened. But that's not my point now."

"Who's in charge of all of you?" He suddenly asked.

Following his words, a one-meter-tall ant stepped forward once again before a female voice uttered, "I am..."

Lei Yan knew that she trailed off because she didn't know how to address him, and so in preparation for his long-term plans he just said, "Just call me King."

After getting over the slight embarrassment he felt when saying that he continued, "I need you to be in charge for now because a big fight will soon happen." Looking at the others and their puzzled expressions, he explained, "I will be bringing the viper queen here to finish her once and for all."

A bout of gasps and exclamations followed as he continued, "I want you to enter the colony and order all of the ants to fall back. Go into the deepest parts of it and await further instructions."

Registering all of their serious nods, he unfurled his giant wings and started flying as an ant, kicking off a cloud of dust and dirt behind him.

Once he left the ants behind, he swiftly transformed into his mosquito form and continued.

'Oh wait!' He suddenly thought, 'What the fuck am I doing?'

So caught up in working out the details of his plan to overcome and crush the viper, he had lost track of a very important issue: he was in his original and very killable body, right now.

'Oh my god, how did I miss that?' He thought with quite a bit of chagrin. Transforming back into his golden dragonfly form, he heaved a huge sigh and made his way to the entrance of the colony.

Finding Junior perched on a tree outside the cave entrance, he told him, "Change of plans. I will be the one doing the control now, just make sure you stay alive."

After getting his confirmation, he entered the colony’s cave and flew deep inside until he reached the spacious clearing where he had put his array formation, landing in the middle where the formation’s main component was buried.

Using the Soulweave Transfiguration Art, he moved his awareness to one of the ants that he left near the viper’s battle. He was ready to officially begin his big plan.
...

Present time.

"So," Lei Yan mumbled as he glanced at the viper following after him. "That dragonfly has surely played you all. I've seen everything."

He could see the viper's expression changing, her fury mounting at his words. She snarled, "That doesn't concern you, little insect.”

Chuckling in his mind, Lei Yan continued, "There is something I don't think you know."

"What is it?" The viper queen snapped impatiently. She knew that the mosquito before her was very peculiar and had access to a lot of knowledge.

"He was the cause of everything that happened to you thus far..." Lei Yan answered with a mysterious tone.

"What do you mean everything?" Asked the viper queen.

"Well," Lei Yan explained, "He was the one who called those human cultivators at night in the purple forest to go kill your subordinates, and he was also the one who gathered all of the humans that came to kill you previously."

At the mention of that, the viper queen's eyes slightly widened and shock was evident on her face before it morphed into rage saying, "Are you certain?"

"Of course," Lei Yan said as he continued flying over the path slowly. "After all, he knew you wanted to kill him since the very beginning."

A silence stretched out as the viper queen seemed to be pondering something deeply before she asked, "And what did he to do you?"

Lei Yan was surprised at first before he said, "Have you noticed how he was always surrounded by mosquitoes and dragonflies?" Seeing her slightly nod in agreement, he explained, "I had two brothers with me, but he forcefully took them under his control."

"What do you mean," She asked.

"He isn't a simple dragonfly," Lei Yan said with a solemn voice. "He has an ability like those the humans have, he can enslave other insects."

After hearing that the viper queen no longer said anything, but she seemed to be deep in thought.

The duo continued advancing through the ants' territory, and then suddenly, the viper queen hissed dangerously before she bolted forward with an astonishing speed.

"Shit." Lei Yan mumbled before the mosquito's body began falling down, and once it regained control over its flight, there was no intelligence in its eyes.

Opening his eyes in his dragonfly form, he immediately sprung to action. He materialized the five golden chains and made them fly in the direction of the entrance tunnel to block it. He knew that the viper queen's speed would be too fast for him, and preparations had to be made beforehand.

Soon, he could sense his offspring Junior racing through the air coming in his direction, and closely behind him was the viper queen that was slowly gaining on him.

However, this was all within his expectations and so the place where he set up the formation wasn't far from the colony's entrance. Thus, with another whoosh, Junior squeezed himself between the chains' rings and emerged into the spacious room with a slightly terrified demeanor.

Though he wanted to tease him for his previous claims that a small worm wouldn't be able to make him feel afraid, a shocking collision that sent shivers down his spine was heard.

The viper queen's now huge head rammed directly into the chains, and that was when Lei Yan made them fall back, allowing her the space to enter.

Witnessing all of these golden formidable chains that flew seemingly on their own, the viper queen was slightly alert, but when her gaze landed on that despicable dragonfly once again, she hissed dangerously and lunged at him.

Finding his opportunity, Lei Yan controlled all of the five chains to simultaneously wrap around the viper's queen body, and in but a short two seconds the previously domineering viper couldn't move one single inch forward.

Her head was held by one, and at the end of her body, the other chains twisted around her not allowing her to move.

"Hahahaha," Lei Yan cackled at the sight like a mad man, because he knew that he had her!

Even her abilities wouldn't be able to be summoned under the control of the golden chains, and as things stood, he won.

"How do you like that, you bitch?!" Lei Yan taunted as he hovered directly between the viper queen's bulging bloodshot wide eyes.

The viper violently struggled against the chains but to no avail. She was held very tightly, and after realizing that fact her rage only intensified.

"If someone looked at you they might think you're the victim here." Lei Yan said somewhat angrily when he looked at her unwilling eyes. "Don't you remember how you held me to captive to eat me afterward?"

Squeezing the chains even harder he said with a chilling tone, "Now I will be the one to eat you, little worm."

After saying that he continued laughing like a madman once again. The sheer nervousness and fear he felt when he witnessed the viper at first now contrasted against the sight before him made him laugh in both relief and joy.

"You thought you're so slick," He said mid-laugh, "Trying to appear nice where I knew all along how big of a hypocrite you were." Noticing her rage and continuous violent struggle, Lei Yan had a good idea in his mind.

He glanced at Junior and said, "Go, call everyone here, it's safe now."
