The trip from the car to the inside was short but I vividly lived those moments.

I could tell by his actions that this man adored Xiao Mei and the reason he asked her hand in marriage in exchange for helping her family, was because he probably liked her for a while.

'It's so huge...' I ran my eyes around the mansion and as I thought from the outer structure, it was massive in size.

Once we entered, the reception area was crowded with several maids who probably were waiting for us.

Feeling their gazes on me, I felt a little embarrassed which made me duck my head and hide my face in his chest.

His manly scent was slightly unsettling for me but I could tolerate it for now.

I could tell by the way they were looking at us, that they would gossip about their masters once we walked away. But well, who could convince Mr. Cheng not to be overbearing?

After climbing the stairs, Mr. Cheng turned toward the left and after crossing several rooms, he stopped just before the last room.

Feeling his gaze on me, I understood the meaning of his pause before I slowly hopped off his arms.

Apparently, Mr. Cheng doesn't step inside my room...or to be precise, he wasn't allowed to.

"I have some work left back in the office."

Just as I stood on my feet, he informed me in his husky voice. Like, was this his natural voice or was he trying to woo his wife?

Regardless, I didn't focus on that and nodded.

"Take care."

Hearing my words, for some reason, the man slightly raised his brows.

I tilted my head in confusion but soon Mr. Cheng coughed in his fist and upon regaining his posture he just hummed and walked away.

Watching his retreating back, I couldn't help but dryly chuckle. I mean, how badly was he treated by his wife that normal greetings could surprise him so much?

My room was also huge with enough space to place a ping-pong table beside the bed and dribble a football on the other side.

There was a couch, with a huge tv mounted opposite it. A center table and two doors that lead to the bathroom and toilet.

The walls were painted in a very light cream shade with some flower pattern and the curtains were also of the same shade which provided a sense of serenity.

I walked toward the bed and plopped down without much thought. The fluffiness of the bed was comfortable enough to tempt me for another nap. However, remembering something, I decided to postpone the nap.

Getting up, I took my phone out of my purse(I wasn't used to carrying it but somehow muscle memory helped), and upon unlocking the screen, I was met with hundreds of notifications.

Several of them are from online shopping sites. Some from the person who was Xiao's best friend. And almost half of it was from a single man—Wang Lin a.k Wang Wang.

This girl texts him almost a hundred messages on an average, daily. There were several calls and video chats with this man as well.

Reading through the texts, I could tell that Xiao Mei had entirely fallen for this guy. However, what she missed noticing because of her blind love was the fact that not only her chat app and call log, but Wang Lin's name was always flashing on her account statement, as well.

Yep, Xiao Mei was financially supporting her little boyfriend.

Now the question arises, since Xiao Mei wasn't working for anyone, then how come she was able to deposit nearly thirty thousand yuan monthly?

Of course, it came from none other than my husband, Mr. Cheng.

'I can't believe myself...' On one hand, I was insulting the man by saying mean things. I even told him a pedo just because the age gap between us is six years.

And on the other hand, I was leeching his money diligently every month so I could provide for my boyfriend. And I was sure that Mr. Cheng knew about it too.

However, the most amusing part is this guy named Wang.

He was currently struggling with his new job and hopping from place to place, which was why his financial condition wasn't stable. Since Wang Lin wanted to open his own restaurant while continuing his usual life without much problem, he indirectly asks for Xiao Mei's help.

Wang Lin carefully plays his cards to emotionally blackmail the girl so she doesn't think twice before offering such a big sum to him every month. She even has already exhausted all her savings to support him.

'Seriously...what a naive girl I am...' I chuckled inwardly before I dialed the last missed call number.

The phone rang thrice before the call connected,

[Hello? Mei Mei?! Are you alright? Did something happen with that bastard? Did he do something to you?!]

I parted the phone apart from my ear because his shouting was a little annoying.

Once he was done asking so many things, I shortly contemplated how I should answer him but ended up delaying the conversation,

"He did nothing...I am just feeling a little dizzy. Let's talk tomorrow?"

I am still not sure how to deal with my own life to bother about this gigolo so it was better if I organized my thoughts, first.

There was a small pause from the other end, before in a hesitant voice Wang Lin spoke,

[...actually, I wanted to ask if you could transfer some funds? My monthly EMI is about to get deducted tomorrow and the-]

"Can't. Mr. Sheng froze my account for the time being."

I really didn't want to entertain this guy anymore as such, I just initiated the process of somehow removing this person from my life.

[...what?! H-he fro- is he insane?! How did that bastard even dare to do such a thing to my poor Mei Mei?!]

I furrowed my brows at that. Somehow, hearing him curse Mr. Cheng felt that he was being a little too ungrateful toward the person who had helped Wang Lin to survive.

In the end, I didn't say anything more and disconnected the call on a short note, "I will call you tomorrow. "

Plopping down the bed, I sighed.

My life was one hell of messed up.
