Chapter 13: Fateful Encounter [2]

“Who… who are you ladies?”, Xiao Lei asked, acting as if he really didn’t know about them.

“Aish, let me answer miss. Look here, we are-“

“Don’t tell me, you are the famous kidnappers who kidnap young and innocent handsome men and then sell them to brothels!”

“Pardon what!?”, Yue’s eyebrows twitched. Her lips quivered as she lost words from her mouth, hardly finding any to say in the situation.

Hearing that, Xi couldn’t help but chuckle a little.

“Wait, you aren’t denying? So you really are!? You coward! You rapists! You monkeys! You-”

Yue, who heard all these constant insults, stormed towards him and almost kicked him. If not for Xi stopping her, Yue would have really kicked Xiao Lei.

“Whom are you calling monkey!? You are the real monkey!”

Hearing that, Lei added further, “Don’t take out the anger of your flat chest on me!”

“You! Miss Let me go! Today I am going to kill him!”, both of Yue’s arms were tightly grabbed by Xi who held her back. However, this couldn’t prevent her legs from turning like a cartoonish wheel.

“This guy!”, Yue couldn’t help but be annoyed by his words.

Well, Lei was doing precisely that after all.

Xi, who simply smiled hearing him again, said, “But who are you, sir? You came from the Red Light District but you must not be a prostitute if you were against being sold to a brothel.”

Hearing that, Lei said, “Indeed. I’m from a distinguished family. But I came here to investigate a matter… But looks like this certain someone did something to my body. I’m unsure of what happened, can you tell me how you found me?”

Xi, albeit blushing a bit, maintained a calm expression as she explained everything… indeed, she said everything other than the part where she and he slept together.

Xi played with her hair and with a soft and angelic voice, said, “I’m Li Xi.”

“Miss Xi it is then.”

“You can drop the miss.”

“Then Xi it is.”

Both of them stared at each other, locking their eyes. Yue would move her gaze back and forth between Lei and Xi. She felt helpless and left out.

“Ugh, both of you! Listen to me.”, she raised her voice, breaking their eye contact as she stood in between them.

“Listen, mister, my sister here saved your life. We want compensation.”

“Compensation?”, Lei suddenly feigned as if he had never received any help. He looked here and there like a fool.

“Yes compensation.”, Yue stared at Lei and then for a second, looked at Xi before continuing, “My sister is an adventurer. She has come out to see the world. Right now, we don't have any place to stay. Why don’t you take us to your place?”

Xi gave a fierce look to Yue. That was because what she asked was not only ridiculous but completely bizarre.

Who would simply allow a random stranger to their sect? What if they were from the Demon Sect? What if they were some spy and traitor?

‘I know Miss. But I just want this loser to understand what his position is.’, Yue squint her eyes.

‘He thinks he is some great, but he needs to lie down in Miss’s feet! How dare he sleep with Miss Xi? Hmph, a loser is a loser. Just grovel and reject already.’

Weirdly enough, in contrast to Yue’s thoughts, Xiao Lei almost immediately agreed.

“Alright. That’s fine with me.”

“Hah! See? You can’t even-”

“Wait… what!?”, Yue took almost three steps behind, completely baffled by his acceptance.

“Yes. You can accompany me. Come.”, Xiao Lei stood up almost immediately, his body feeling extra fresh.

Yue rubbed her eyes once or twice before seeing Lei walk ahead. She stared at Xi who simply smiled and followed Lei.

“No no, wait. You do realize what it means by taking us into your sect, right?”, Yue ran like a cartoon chibi girl and approached Lei on the side. She side-eyed funnily and continued to ask that.

“Little Yue, I understand. Just follow me will you.”

‘Ugh! Just what’s up with him?’, she was extra irritated because his words and sound were exactly like that of a gentleman.

Xiao Lei continued his short strides, accompanying Xi and Yue along. During the journey, Yue, out of curiosity, asked, “Um, what is your name?”

He thought about it for a minute and wondered if he should reveal his real name or the fake one. He was going to accompany them back to the sect anyway and there, with thousands of scorns, they would find out about him.

“I’m Xiao Lei.

“X-xiao? Hahahahahahaha!”, Yue burst into laughter when he introduced himself.

Xiao was a title used for ‘Little’ or ‘Someone at a lower position’. It being a name was quite crazy.

“Hahahaha, is your real name Xiao? For real? Hahahaha.”, Yue took enough time to make fun of him.

However, Lei maintained a calm front. He was immune to all these taunts. Needless to say, Xi was present there. Weirdly enough, he didn’t want to look less manly in front of her.

But that didn’t mean he could let Yue talk trash to him.

“I don’t want to hear anything from a flat chest.”

“HUH? What did you say?”, Yue side-eyed him almost instantly, giving an intense stare.

“Flat Chest! If you didn’t hear, I’ll tell it once again, FLAT CHEST!”, saying this, Lei started running.

“YOU! You monkey!”, Yue ran behind him, catching up to him instantly and beating him again and again, gently of course.

Xi in the back, walking slowly, chuckled as she said, “Looks like you both are quite close.”

“No way!”, both of them said in synchrony.

So guys, after much thought, I have decided it to be 70% story and 30% smut. This means, if the novel is 100 chapters long, 70 chapters will be proper story or development, faceslappings and ranking ups, breakthroughts etc. And remaining 30 will be smex scenes.
