Melle's sleeping face was so cute. I lightly pinched her cheek as she mumbled to herself. "Sweepy giant…"

"That's right. That's your goal, isn't it?" I whispered and stroked her hair. How much did she listen to as she fell asleep? It wasn't like I delved into something complex.

She could always learn about magic over time, but  I couldn’t tell her about my parents yet. They were still alive as far as I knew, but the last time I saw them five hundred years ago ended in my transfer to Earth, right into my fresh hell.

I shook my head and looked at my sleepy dork. She was so cute. She was so amazing. Her smile melted my cold heart, and the way she worried about me. Melle was oblivious in the most obvious ways, but I could tell she thought deeply in the end.

I was already madly in love with her. I would let nothing come between us, even if I had to take on my father. The only thing that could break us apart would be Melle herself. It pained my heart even to think it was possible.

"Ennn…oooraaa…that tickles."Her sleep mumbles brought a smile to my face.

Vampires don't produce melatonin at night. Yet, while I stared at her sleeping face, I drifted off. "Please, stay true to yourself, Melle. I love you,” I said and kissed her cheek.

I awoke to the morning sunlight filtering through the metal shutters. Melle was still out, but when I started to climb down the bed, she grabbed my arm.

"Where do you think you are going?"

"I was going to get dressed. I didn't take you as a morning person," I said. If anything, she seemed the type that would oversleep.

Melle yawned. "I am not a morning person, but when I woke up, I thought everything that happened was a dream. I needed to be sure."

"Sure that it wasn't a dream?"

She nodded. "I still doubt that a woman as perfect as you could exist."

I blushed when she pulled my arm. I didn't resist and fell on top of her. My eyes met her brown eyes. I was a little annoyed that only my body was exposed.

"By the way, you also have a cute butt."

I blushed even more. Instead of responding, I closed my eyes and kissed Melle. This time, my tongue entered her mouth.

After a bit, I pulled away briefly. "It tastes like poulpru."

"Oh! I forgot my toothbru—"

I kissed her some more, our tongues getting tangled. A drop of blood dripped onto my tongue. The taste added a further sweetness to her already poulpru taste. When we separated again, I wanted to taste her even more.

"I'm sorry! I wanted to feel it with my tongue."

"Feel what?" I asked.

"I wanted to feel your fangs, but I think I did it too fast. If you are hungry…" She pulled the blanket down while turning her head to the side.

"You know vampires can eat normal food, too?"

"Eh? But your eyes are glowing."

My cheeks went red again. I did want to drink her blood, but that wasn’t it. "Melle, that happens when a vampire is t-t—"

"T-t?" She tilted her head cutely.

Drinking blood, indeed, makes for a healthy vampire. Without it, our bodies become cold. Only the shameless vampires would drink from anyone, though. Everyone tastes different, but only your lovers will be as sweet as my dorks. Glowing eyes didn’t only indicate hunger. In that instance, I was "turned on."

Melle’s face went red like an apple, and I couldn't take it anymore as I bit into her neck. The blood tasted sweet. The voice she let out sent a shiver down my body. We were both in the mood. Her heartbeat only grew, her breathing becoming labored.

That morning, we both climbed the stairs to adulthood and took each other's first time.

""Wow…""

"I don't thi—"

"I think…"

"You go first," I said.

"I don't think I can ever let you go now. I already knew I loved you, but after that, I love you so much more, my Enora Twilight!"

Through the tears, my cheeks became warm. I was so happy to be hugging Melle close to me.

"I think I will never let you go now. This must be weird as a human, but for me, I want you to be my partner forever. I love you too, Melle Garnsey!"

We kissed for probably the hundredth time this morning, and she laughed.

"What's so funny?" I asked.

"I didn't even get to brush my teeth…"

I chuckled. "Dork, should we get up now?"

"I want to burn this image in my brain for a few more minutes."

I lightly flicked her forehead. "It is already noon!"

"Huh? Did we just?... For five hours?"

Our cheeks both went blood red. "Who's fault do you think that is?..."

"Yours!"

"It is not!"

"Is so~!"

"It is not!"

"Hey, Enora?" She asked, breaking the feedback loop.

"Yes?"

"How do you know what time it is?"

I pointed across the room to a clock on the wall.

"Huh!? How didn't I notice that before?"

"Wait! If you didn't see the clock? How did you know it was five hours?"

"Oh! I just thought it got light over here at the same time!"

I shook my head and sighed. "It got light here at six. Anyway, let's go, Dork."

"I love you too!"

I couldn't get what had happened out of my mind. Enora and I walked down the stairs of the inn. As we reached the bottom floor, Vernie was there to greet us.

"You already missed breakfast,” she said. “Why are you both grinning so much? Hmm?"

"It’s nothing!" I yelled, my cheeks heating.

"Suuure~. Whatever you say. We don't serve lunch here, so you will need to find someplace else. And there will be no more free nights. If you want to stay, you have to pay."

"Mind if we pay later? We don't know if we will stay here another night," I said.

Vernie crossed her wings in front of her. "Were the rooms not to your liking?"

"No, no, not at all," I said with a wave of my hands. "The rooms were great. Perfect!" I looked at Enora’s red cheeks, releasing a pleasant sigh.

"Then what's the problem? Are you leaving already?"

I looked around the dining hall. "We might be. By the way, where did everyone go?"

"Most of my customers are adventurers. They all get up early to find quests. We get travelers and merchants sometimes, but they also leave early. You gotta make a living somehow, right?"

She was right. I also had a job on Earth, but here, I had nothing. Not even a toothbrush. My teeth were already missing one. She also said something about adventurers. "Is there an adventurer's guild?"

"Hmm? You mean you don't know?"

"My dork here doesn't get out much," Enora said for the save.

"Who's a dork?? I'll have you know I work out at least three times a week!"

Enora smirked at me. “That would certainly explain some things."

"Hey! Don't just say that like you also didn't just—"

Vernie cut a wing in between us. "If you are going to talk about your bedtime fun, don't do it before me."

We both flinched. It was already hard enough to look at Enora and not picture her body.

"Right, so the guild. There is one in every major city, and even some of the smaller towns have a branch. Ours is just two blocks down towards the east entrance. If you get lunch, check out some of the stands there. The adventurers love them."

We thanked Vernie before we exited the inn.

"So you knew there was a guild?" I asked as Enora extended her parasol.

"Nope, not at all."

"But you said…"

"I never went outside while I was here. Most of the things I learned weren't about this sort of thing anyway."

I pinched her arm. "Then why did you call me a dork!?"

"Because you are one?" She showed me a toothy grin.

"Fair point!"

"You there! Vampire!" A specific green bird had started her way over from across the street. Her eyes still looked as evil as I remembered. And as tiny. She was glaring at my girlfriend, who happily returned it.

"What do you want, chibi?" Enora asked.

"It's Nychibi, and I want you to follow me to the arena." The harpy started walking off but turned around when she realized we weren't following. "I said, follow me!"

"And why should we do that?"

"Can't we just calm down? I am sure it was all—"

"I am talking to your partner, so stay out of it! You…" She looked at Enora. "I don't know how you stopped my kick yesterday. Are you a Dusk?"

Enora scoffed. "Heh. The Dusk Clan?"

"You mean you don't belong to the strongest clan? That just means I can kick your butt without having to worry."

"Strongest clan? Who died and made them king?"

The harpy laughed. "You really don't know? You've been under a rock?” The green harpy asked. “Well, I don't care if you lived under a rock or inside of one, but you and I will finish what we started if you think you are better than me…"

"Sure,” Enora grinned. “If you want a fight, I will give you one."

"Just lay down your terms."

"No, you shouldn't!"

"There are some things I won't just take,” Enora said, squeezing my hand. “She tried to kick you."

"Well, she indeed did, but I'm sure that was all—"

"Shut it, human. This is between me and the vampire. If you butt in, I will kick your ass, too."

I stood in front of her with my arms stretched. "If you want her, then—"

"Stop." Enora grabbed my shoulder. She smiled at me as I turned around and kissed me. "I'm happy you want to protect me as much as I want to protect you, but have some faith in this woman you fell for. As soon as this is done. I will get you some lunch and a toothbrush like you wanted."

She stepped in front of me this time. "The terms please."

"It's simple. We will fight in the arena using only physical arts. If you win, I will apologize. Hell, I'll even lick your boots, but if I win, you will join my party."

"How about if I win, you will leave us alone?"

"Nope, I can't agree to that."

"Why not?"

"Can't."

"Fine. Then, when I win, you best apologize to Melle."

"Sure. Follow me!"

She led us through the town a couple of blocks down. I could see the adventurers guild. Across from it was a small arena dug out next to a shop. I saw the food stands Vernie talked about further down, but my head spun.

Was this normal? Were people supposed to fight like this?

"Don't worry," Enora said.

How could I not worry? This needed to be corrected. People weren't supposed to fight.

"This is a different world from Earth. This is pretty tame. Be strong for me, okay?" She jumped down into the arena, which consisted of a few stone slabs placed together.

Nychibi jumped down on the opposite side."The fight will end when one of us gives up. You, human, will be the signal!"

"Me!?"

I didn't have anything to signal a fight and wanted to avoid this. I sighed, reaching into my pocket. I still wore the same clothes from transferring. One of my pickets had a hole. I reached into the other pocket. At first, I didn't find anything, but then I felt it. “A dime!”

I couldn't believe it. I only had one coin, which was a dime, of all things. I kissed my lucky dime for good measure.

"When this hits the ground, you will start," I said, flicking the dime into the air.

My heartbeat ramped up. I didn't want to see either get hurt. Sure Nychibi had been rude to me and Enora, but Vernie said to forgive her. I tried to close my eyes once the dime finally hit the ground. Although everything happened so fast, I didn't even have time.

Enora traversed the arena. She pinned Nychibi to the ground in a flash. "I think it's my win."

"I'm not gonna—" Nychibi said, but Enora pushed her claws into the harpy’s neck, drawing blood. "Alright! It's your win!"

"And the agreement?" Enora pulled her hands away, allowing the green harpy to stand up.

"Hey, you!" Nychibi’s reddened and pointed her wing towards me. "L-listen well! I'm only gonna say this once! I-I… I'm sorry!" She finished by flying away dramatically.
