XH 257 - It's for Yu Zheng?

"What is she doing here?" Xiao Hua hissed fearfully, the hairs on her skin stood upright. She had managed to slide along the walls to reach Da Bei and the Rubik Cube's side, further away from the emerging portal.

"Her ears aren't here yet, so she can't hear you." The Rubik Cube could see that the demon's portal was not the type where she could peek in or listen through it. It's only purpose was for traveling. "I've slowed down the portal for now but it won't last long!"

The system had sent a distress call to his host, but does not know when Bai Chuan would return to help them! In the past, it was proud of its host for being dedicated to his job, but now, it slightly hoped its host would not ignore his adopted daughter's safety for his job.

The Rubik cube was distressed!

Da Bei stood in front of Xiao Hua and growled at the deadly pale hand that was very slowly emerging from the portal.

This very scene reminded Xiao Hua of Sadako crawling out of the TV.

"No, Da Bei. It won't taste good at all." Xiao Hua shakes her head in negative, as well as shaking the horrifying image from her mind. Her face paled when the Sadako image in her mind was replaced with the imagination of Da Bei ripping the pale hand off with his sharp teeth. "I... I can chop it off instead..."

"Wait, don't! What if you angered her and she became more aggressive? I won't be able to hold her back then!" The system stopped her quickly.

Xiao Hua gripped onto her whip tightly. "Then what? Are we just going to watch until she finishes crossing the portal? We will die!"

Da Bei stopped growling and looked disgruntled, before turning into his adult human form. The Rubik cube went still as it swears Da Bei was looking straight at it!

The white Rubik cube quickly calmed itself down, as it was impossible for Da Bei to be able to see it. He was the fated residence of this world and not like Xiao Hua the transmigrated soul which allowed her to see it.

Not even the strongest shaman or physic had ever noticed it-

She could see that Da Bei was looking straight at the system. Not to its' left or to its' right!

Since he was able to notice the system the first time they met, he might be able to do it again by hearing the sound of the humming machine, not that Xiao Hua could hear anything.

Just how sharp were Da Bei's ears?

But that was not her concern now. She was anxious that Da Bei's memory would need to be wiped again after learning of the system's existence! Xiao Hua regretted talking to the system when Da Bei was around!

"This thing... could hide your presence." Da Bei said with certainty as he continued staring at the system's direction. He had seen Xiao Hua asking that thing he could not see or hear to help make her invisible a few times to avoid Ming Yue.

"It's useless. That demon already knows she's here anyway! And maybe the demon is actually here for my host and has locked down on this place's location!" The system flew around in a circle, beeping in distraught.

"Da Bei, that's the spirit of Bai land," Xiao Hua suddenly said very earnestly towards Da Bei. Her expression was serious and her tone was calm without any fluctuation that betrayed her lie.

This was the only way she could think of without forcing the system to erase Da Bei's memories.

"Huh?" The Rubik cube stopped flying in a circle and a red question mark formed on its face.

"So don't be afraid okay?" Xiao Hua said calmly as if she was afraid Da Bei would be afraid of ghosts. "The spirit also says that hiding my presence is useless because the demon might be here to find Doctor Bai and not me."

Da Bei nodded. "Okay."

"How trusting," The Rubik cube groused, feeling a little bad for the snow wolf. "We still need to deal with the demon!"

"Hey, how about we try sending her back?" Xiao Hua's eyes brighten.

"What?"

"Make another portal and send her back to where she came from!"

"As if it's as easy as you say! That demon won't willingly listen to you and go back!"

"Not if you make a portal just one cm away from her portal! She won't know the difference and thinks she reached her destination!" Xiao Hua pumped her fists excitedly. At the next moment, her excitement deflated like a balloon out of air. "Wait, do you even know how to make a portal?"

"That-"

"Or we can just run away now! Oh gosh, what am I thinking, to debate, and not run away?" Xiao Hua could see the pale hand was already reaching the length of her elbow now.

"Wait, calm down!"

"Let's go, Da Bei! Run!" Xiao Hua tugged Da Bei's arm.

"I can do it!" The Rubik cube yelled loudly. "I can make a goddamn mirror portal!"

To prove it, the Rubik Cube let out a sharp continuous beeping noise as it created a similar portal right in front of the hand. The White Rubik cube trembled as it controlled the portal it made to slowly approach closer to the demon's hand.

The onlooker released their breath that they unconsciously held in when the mirror portal successfully swallowed the hand. The mirror portal finally stopped within one centimeter before the demon's portal.

"Done! Now we just had to let her go!"

"Yes, yes, yes!" Xiao Hua squealed like a cheerleader. "Quick, let her go!"

"Okie Dokie!" The system stops slowing down the demon's portal and let it run at normal speed again.

Xiao Hua's breath hitched as she barely saw Liu Chu Chu's figure before she crossed into the mirror portal. "Close it! Close it!" Xiao Hua urged frantically.

"No need for you to say!" The system quickly closed the mirror portal.

The place became peaceful and normal again.

"Oh gosh, so terrifying- Ah! Why is it here again?!" Xiao Hua clutched the white Rubik cube in fright as the portal reappeared again, with a familiar pale white hand trying to enter this place.

Her galloping heart does not even have the chance to rest before it has to work hard again!

Swish!

Da Bei pulled out his long, thin sword and stared at the ghost-like hand as if contemplating which angle to cut it off.

The Rubik cube quickly opened a mirror portal and sent the demon away again.

Xiao Hua does not feel relieved even after sending her away, because the demon would try again. And her guess was right.

"Argh! The heck is she coming here for! Doctor Bai isn't here! You should have fucking sent a notice first before coming to visit! What a fucking rude person with a shitty attitude! It's the third time already, get the f*cking hint, you arse!" Xiao Hua could no longer remain calm and cursed the demon in English.

"Maybe she comes for you," The Rubik cube guessed.

"What the heck did she want from me? Slumber party?!"

The Rubik cube let out a silent beep. "I will keep sending her away, no worries!"

"But we don't know how long she will continue doing this freaking thing!" Xiao Hua let out a frustrated sob. What happens if the system runs out of energy? None of them were strong enough to handle a strong demon!

"Let's just run, okay?" Xiao Hua pleaded tearfully, tugging the obedient snow wolf, despite him wanting to bring destruction onto that pale hand that brought forward a great wave of fear and despair onto Xiao Hua, and in turn, Da Bei.

"Where can we run?" The Rubik cube asked, with red lights expressing its anger. "We have nowhere to run with that demon catching up with us!"

As long as the demon was determined to find Xiao Hua, they could not find a place to hide.

"Can't you teleport or something?"

"I can't do that! I can't even open a portal to somewhere else!" The mirror portal was the best it can do without limitation!

"We can scare her away," Da Bei suggested, his eyes flashed sinisterly.

"How? Toss knives into her portal? Lay pin tacks on the floor for her to step on?" Xiao Hua wiped her tears away. "Too bad we don't have a bomb to blast her. Oh, is she afraid of my tea?"

"I got one good thing!" The Rubik cube pulled out a human-sized black coffin that a gothic lover would love. "It's one of my host's collections from one of the worlds we went to. Look inside!"

The cover of the coffin opened by itself, revealing the velvet interior with sharp, long needles installed inside it that belonged perfectly in a torture chamber.

"... Do I even want to ask why you have this torture device...?"

"It's completely new and not yet used, unfortunately. Yu Zheng is too smart to be tricked, tsk."
