Arya died suddenly after touching a mysterious object—only to awaken in a world of cultivation and supernatural power.
Reborn as Su Kang, a prodigy of the Su family, he quickly befriended Li Fang, and together they embarked on countless adventures.
But Li Fang had a habit of face-slapping anyone who crossed him. Protected by his protagonist's halo, he feared no consequences, leaving a trail of enemies wherever he went.
As a loyal friend, Su Kang did his best to help him—only to watch helplessly as Li Fang’s harem grew, while those around him kept dying. Even Su Kang’s own fiancée eventually fell for Li Fang.
In the end, Su Kang’s family was destroyed, and he himself was killed by the very enemies Li Fang had made.
But fate has given Su Kang a second chance.
This time, he refuses to be a mere sidekick. With knowledge of the future and the same mysterious fragment that once killed him, Su Kang will forge his own path—and challenge the so-called Child of Destiny.
Yet as he fights against fate, one twist he never expected: he ends up secretly marrying Li Fang’s beautiful mother.
In a world of broken justice, warring sects, ancient secrets, and ruthless elites—can a former sidekick rise to become a true force to be reckoned with?

Awesome novel! The MC isn't an idiot and all characters feel authentic and alive. Personally, I really liked the slow-paced romance with the Bai Yunxi, although I could have been a bit slower for my taste.
However, there are a few areas, which are a bit lacking (in my opinion) :
Still, this story is one of the best here.

It's a touching love story, something I have rerely seen in a xianxia story. I like that this is not about using interchangeable jade beauty. Beside it's always fun to see someone fight a MC with wits

A romantic story of a side character who gets a cheat and bags a milf. I do mean romantic. There is little to no action with a little more smut. This is mostly a character driven story. The harem as of yet does not exist.
The strength of this story is its character relationships. Perhaps my favourite is the world-building. Finally one of these murim worlds that makes sense to me.
I enjoy the subtley, and well founded world building. The resourxes may be fantasy based, but tbey arw trrated like material resourxes. A northern region has mire spiritual energy so itbis more prosperous roughlt equal a northern region is more fertile crops so is more prosperous. Thebmore propserous the region the better the cultivators. So more powerful.
This does not exactly align with material world. Nomad warrior tribes tend to invade prosperous lands. Sea based empires tend to extrscr resources they don't possess.
But it is a well founded world. It has a sensible logic to it. In turn character actions make sense. Ambitous characters want to move to more spirutal dense areas, and this is where the best tools are as well.
However in the margins where the stort starts interestings new chsotic developments are happening which also makes sense. They will then push in towards where power is concentrated. Those flee the danger go to these more isolated places.
All good dramatic world building details.
I also like the character relatuonships. The author focuses on gradual build ups and a few characters at a time. There is some dramtic jumps for exictiment, but this mixes well with a more gradual pace. The character relationships thus feel lived in, and stable. They also carry a certain warm feelings snd not just lust, or ambiton though those feelings are also present. I would say this is a more romantic than s*xual story. It is not lewd, for better or worse. It is romantic, and caring, while also having a power hungry ambitious lead.
In terms of writing, this story is more focused on dialogue, introspection, and 'exposition' than description. What things look, smell, taste like etc has less presence on the page than spoken words, the main characters thoughts and feelings. This is a suitable style for this web series. It keeps the prose digestible, and focused on story aims of romance, characters, cultivation, and growth. More description has its advantages, but it has would slow the pace and muddy the author's style of internal development, growth, and dialogue.
My praise is lower from roughly around chapter 80+ which change character perspctive (an already risky move, but highly benefical if succesful), and becomes one long exposition dump of lore. It is a descive move to expand the focus to the Su clan, snd not just on Su Kang. Imo, it was a little tedious at point. But perhaps it may be worth it for what it helps build?
The story returns on track at chapter 89-ish. I think the experminet of other perspectives was worth it, it certaim gives more depth to the story. Perhaps a second version would come with improvements.
The biggest challenge I see for this story is that it looks to be a long story that takes time and effort to create. If this is purely a dedicated passion project that is fine. It is is also a means of income (totally valid) then the fate of this stort rests on its ability to sell. So the longevity of this story is my concern. Selfishly, I will return long down the line when more chapters are written. I hope this stort continues.
I'm gomna give five stars. More honestly like rates lower as there are some issues, and room for growth. However, the story is a success at what it aims to achieves, so deserves a thumbs up!

The beginning, when Su Kang is trying to convince Bai Yunxi to accept him, had my heart pounding. Very tense and emotional.
The cultivation chapters where Su Kang becomes stronger are not as interesting to me, but the relationship drama is good enough to keep me hooked.
Both Su Kang and Bai Yunxi are likable and relatable. I'm rooting for them!

It's better than usual xianxia novels. Keep it up author-san. The MC showing wits made me give review.

Amazing story with deep character development.
It's pretty much impossible to find a good romance story in Xianxia setting, especially with a frequent female POV, building their character.
This one is a rare gem.

Absolute peak cinema.
Honestly started reading this story for smut but I ultimately found gold in the end. The emotional depth of the story is insane. The characters feel real and significant. His parents, despite having almost little to no screen time (due to valid reasons), are breathtakingly realistic. Romance in the story feels hard-earned. There's more to the story than meets the eyes, things left unsaid but can be felt regardless through the character's actions. Cultivation-wise, the story exceeds my expectations as well. Fate, as a character, is incredibly unique and an innovative way to push the MC onwards. I can go on and on but I feel its better for future readers to experience it themselves firsthand
Despite mishaps with terms in the first few chapters, the author rapidly improves and listens to criticism quite well. I have incredibly high hopes for the story. Peak xianxia right here.

I started this novel expecting some smut.I mean, the sidekick seducing the protagonist’s mom? Lol. But it turned out to be way more than that. The writing improves with each chapter, and the emotional depth keeps growing. The characters feel a bit real, the family dynamics are surprisingly warm and I love me some family moment's, and it’s not just about the taboo thingy. It’s about connection, conflict, and care. A guilty pleasure that turned into something genuinely worth reading. 10/10

So far I have been blown away with this novel.
I have been searching in vain for a new romance originated novel to read since I finished all that has been released of "I Made the Empress a Happy Mother, and the System Gave Me Immortal Emperor Cultivation" and youtube. I can recommend this to you should you be looking for a novel with examples of insanely good banter between the couple. It is so hard to find cultivation/ Xianxia novels were the main theme is a deep romance. Thank you for taking the time to write this. I still have a bit to go but so far I haven't been able to stop.
I am scared of the Harem tag TBH as I fear Bai Yunxi presence been diminished. I personally prefer no harems and so far the two characters have enough to carry the story in my novice ass opinion.
I also wanted to commend you on handling the MC insecurity
he was displaying regarding her old husband. You had me raging at first when she stopped him from talking about it and dismissed it initially but the resolution was still good if not a tad dramatic with the revirginization.
Basically Thank you and should the coming chapters be as good as the last 39 you would have created a steadfast fan in me.

The main character can get "fate points" by associating himself with people with a big fate. Instead of getting a bonus from this, he spends his own fate (at his own discretion) on helping the mother of the son of fate, even though he doesn't have to.
It feels like the author is a young man in his 20s, a romantic who believes in something good.
Perhaps I'm just a selfish, bitter, old man who doesn't believe in love and has a distaste for women with children and self-sacrifice.
The main character doesn't feel hatred, even though his bride was stolen by the son of fate, his clan was destroyed, his family and parents were killed, and his cousins were raped.
Despite all this, he continues to suck up to the son of fate and his mother.
He doesn't act like a person who needs to capture fate by any means, but rather like a simp.
The writing is good, but the pace is a bit slow, and it's just not for me.
