A dark and wicked kingdom, filled with powerful soldiers, corrupted priests, and wizards.
The power of this kingdom grew incredibly fast once the wizards and priests were able to open a portal to Earth and steal a citizen every month. They strip the strongest power from their victims, and discard the corpse like it's only garbage to be burned.
The Queen and nobility of Erat are indescribably cruel, and enjoy the cries and screams of agony from their victims.
Erat fell in only one day when they kidnapped Leon, who was sick and dying at the time. The power they stripped from him was the very thing killing him. A type of cancer that made every single movement cause agony, and every breath made him wish for death. The only thing keeping him alive was his previously unknown bloodline.
Llani's hometown, and a place with only a few good memories.
With very few good people within its walls, an exodus is inevitable.
The main character, who originally lived on Rhode Island to be closer to a good hospital due to his terminal illness.
A girl Leon found starving to death in Belford. She was supposed to be sacrificed to the Kingdom of Erat, but the governor was short sighted, and didn't feed her properly. Her parents were already killed in front of her, so she lived on the streets, waiting for death to claim her.
Llani called her Coral because she was reminded of the only piece of jewelry her mother possessed, a small piece of coral attached to a ribbon. Coral's light red hair reminded Llani of that precious piece of simple jewelry.
Originally from Belford, she was sent to the Kingdom of Erat as a sacrifice, to please the nobility of that dark and cruel kingdom, and keep their soldiers away from the governor. Her parents were brutally murdered by the governor and his well fed, but small militia force to stop them from making noise and complaining.
Leon is quite fond of Llani, but has no experience with women, and can not see what is easily seen by others.
The daughter of Elias the blacksmith, and an owner of a general store within Belford.
A blacksmith located in the town of Belford, and the father of Deena.
A local farmer whose family is on the brink of starvation. Due to heavy taxes from the Kingdom, and the local governor, as well as raids by people starving at the closest town, he's practically given up on farming for an income.
He hides small plots of vegetables and grains in the forest, where the yield is barely adequate to feed his wife, and two precious daughters, but it's the only place safe enough to plant and the crops not get stolen.
The wife of the local farmer, Tero. Her frame has suffered from frequent bouts of hunger, and lack of nutrition. Any beauty she once had is now wasted away.
Sisters, and daughters of Tero, and Hella.
When Leon first meets them, they are more well fed then Coral, but the signs of starvation were still obvious.
Tomas, a stone mason who lived in Belford, and Alina his wife, was the second family who arrived at the new community. Their two sons, Ari and Karl, show the same signs of starvation common to the citizens of the now dead kingdom of Erat.
Randall is a stone mason who often worked alongside Tomas.
Marja is Randall's wife. They have one child, a young girl by the name of Mia. The girl is not much better than a bag of bones when they first bring her to the new encampment, and once again, Leon is reminded of how much he hates the town of Belford.
The two male scouts who were sent to rob Leon and his family. They returned to the town with the severed head of an enormous bear as proof of Leon's battle skills.
As things deteriorate within Belford, these two long time friends decide that it's better to live in service to a monster then die at the hands of one.
Canine teeth are the pointed teeth separated from the main two front teeth by an incisor. These are meant for tearing meat, and aren't as prominent in humans as they are within animals.
The MC, Leon, his canines are extraordinarily large due to his more savage and feral nature, along with his innate ability that he was born with, but could not access on Earth.
One of the more docile herbivores, but not to be underestimated. This type of deer has been corrupted by the magic of the dark Kingdom of Erat, and now chews on iron pieces as part of its regular diet. This has toughened its hide and fur to a pliable iron like substance, and is not easily hunted by humans without steel weapons.
Regular arrows can do no damage, and the iron swords that are common to regular soldiers have no chance to pierce its hide.
A brown bear that has been corrupted by the dark magic of the Kingdom of Erat, and grown to a much larger size. Its fangs and claws have also enlarged, and it now grows bony plates along its spine to protect itself from damage.
This bear is extremely difficult to hunt, and only the strongest or most foolish of humans will try to kill one.
A normal grey wolf from Earth is considered to be more dangerous then the Silverback due to its extremely aggressive nature. The main character believes that its behavior makes it vulnerable because it does not lay traps, or behave cleverly in their pursuit of their prey. They attack mercilessly, no matter if its human, or the humpback bear.
Humans can kill the Silverback Wolf, but do not consider it easy to do. Humans are among the weakest of races, and scare so easily, they can't concentrate enough to kill a wolf that attacks without thought about its own safety.
