Ren Hector was supposed to be a Doctor. Instead, he died of a heart attack five years into surgical residency and woke up in a nightmare world where people awaken as Hunters by surviving their worst fears.
The System was supposed to grant him healing powers. But something went wrong.
A glitch during binding process warped his class into something monstrous. Now, as the Doctor of the Ruin Gospel, Ren wields sentient surgical tentacles and a chainsaw instead of holy light.
Now he’s the Doctor of the Ruin Gospel, a walking medical atrocity who heals people with surgical tentacles, a chainsaw, and a mouth in his palm that bites things for diagnosis. The more fear he causes, the stronger he gets.
Trapped in a broken system, in a world ruled by Gates, monsters, and divine protocols, Ren isn’t here to save the world.
He’s just trying to cure it.
And maybe bill it later.
Good wn
Act 1 is a bit weak, but author is rewritting it
Act 2 is good
Eldritch, tentacle, body horror, bloody operations and good horror
Would recommend

The starting grabed intrest and then ruthlessly destroyed all the interest there was by making the MC op from the start. Very bad beginning.
Said that it will be rewritten so I will see if it gets better because the idea for a story has potential but author is ruining it with stupidity.
Hope the rewrite is better.

I can't give this a 5 because of the beginning, it's very slow and a lot of it is kinda pointless. However, once you get through that, this gets REALLY good.
I think the author is rewriting the first book, so once that's done, this will be edited to a 5. Definitely worth sticking with it.
Edit: SH isn't letting me update the stars and I forgot to include them in the initial review. This is supposed to be a 4.

Except the minor mistakes here and there it's nice to read. A bit sad that valid points that we're raised in the story don't really have an impact after.
specifically the "system" pointing out the lack of creativity
Not a perfect story but better than most imo

I would very much like to enjoy this story and setting, but its flaws make it impossible.
The grammar is atrocious, with no clear distinction between spoken words, internal thoughts, and system messages. There is an attempt to differentiate these, but the way this is done seems to change chapter by chapter.
The pacing and framing of scenes is also very inconsistent. There are multiple times where the main character is mid-conversation, only to spend an entire chapter in system menus and internal dialogue, before continuing their conversation with nobody seemingly the wiser. The MC's surroundings also tend to suddenly change for no apparent reason, with people and objects suddenly popping into existence.
The main character was somewhat interesting to begin with, even though vomiting after surgery seemed to be their only solid personality trait. But he fell into the typical isekai protagonist trap of trying to lie and mislead people for no good reason, and then swiftly changed to being needlessly hostile and caustic to everyone around him. The last few chapters I read, over half of his lines were just curse words and insults.
