Nice story in general, the protagonist is not so holy and kills for money, although so far the targets are not 100% innocent, I didn't like to see him threatening with weapons instead of calmly negotiating with his allies for the reward.
As far as I've read there isn't much evidence of romance if not with a protagonist's contractor, although the protagonist appears to be uninterested in her, so I can't tell if she's a temporary character or heroine yet.
Regarding the configurations, the author has to decide, the world has a medieval configuration, but the demons have a good knowledge of chemistry and other sciences in general, and even so the demons we've seen so far don't know how to manufacture/knew modern weapons.
