Every time he tries, he fails. Without fail (ironically enough), Durest cannot win the war. There are simply too many obstacles: the Arnacians, the Esterlings, the Djinns, the "Great Prince Brudis" (who was, in Durest's humble opinion, only 'great' at being an annoying bastard), and the damned "Crimson Mage" Anin. The latter of whom would beat Durest every single time, no matter how much he changed his tactics. Finally, he decides enough is enough. Durest launches a last-ditch attempt at beating his enemies, playing all of his cards and holding nothing back. Time will only tell if he is successful in his endeavors...
