One day, without any reason nor sign, every male disappeared. That, within itself, actually wasn't the worse of it. The worst would be the strange virus that popped up, turning anyone infected into sickly ravenous monsters able to bend reality at their will, with seemingly no way to kill them for good. The infected, or the corrupted, themselves can spread their "corruption" through bites.

With the world all but gone, the survivors struggle to survive not only against the corrupted, but against each other and their own emotions when there is not a single male in the world. This is one of many stories, yet one that may be unlike any other.

Ray Daffen was the daughter of a large mafia. However, due to her own older brother wanting to have his way with her, and her father not caring a smidge about her, she was betrayed by her own family and was about to be raped. However, that was when a bright flash of white caused Ray to close her eyes. When she opened them again, her brother, father, and almost everyone in her family and the mafia were gone, no trace of where they went.

No longer trusting anyone, Ray takes it upon herself to become strong enough to survive whatever the world has to throw at her. That is, until she meets Sammy. They became partners but, the moment Ray trusted Sammy, it turns out that Sammy had betrayed her, telling the Daffen Mafia where she is. Even though Sammy begged for Ray's forgiveness, Ray doesn't listen. It wasn't until Sammy gave up her life so Ray could escape a building full of corrupted did Ray think Sammy may have been sorry.

However, she still doesn't forgive her. In fact, she thinks Sammy deserved to be torn apart. Yet, as luck would have it, before Ray could leave the city, the now infected Sammy found her and pinned her down. And, to top it off, instead of killing Ray, Sammy started snuggling up to her!

With a seemingly "friendly" corrupted sticking to her, Ray decides to make her way to a hidden research facility, hoping to turn in her corrupted follower...

....and hopefully not get attached to her either.
