15 year old Yuli Turgenev was paralyzed, laying in a hospital bed. His grandmother wanted to give him the freedom to move and live a life. To do so she created Duel Monsters Online. The preliminary tests were perfect, however when the server went live as he signed in everything crashed. All of the data was erased for some unknown reason, and her precious grandson seemed to die in the accident.

Meanwhile, he woke up in another world that seemed familiar but slightly different. The game was running perfectly! He never felt so free! It was so realistic, and all the menus were in working order! Except the log out button, and there were no other 'players'. Weird.

Also where was his grandma, where was Jameson? Okay, maybe this was a little lonely but if he can Duel strong opponents then... oh right no other 'players' and these people aren't very strong. He'll help make all of these Duelists around him so strong they won't even be recognizable, AND then he'll duel strong opponents with his trusty PDA and Speed Jaguar! When you duel with someone, you're communicating your heart to them after all, surely, he can form some new bonds!

Aren't these NPCs though? Why do they seem so... realistic? Grandma's technology is incredible!

The story will take place in what is a mixture of the Duel Monsters Anime and Manga, so if you are unfamiliar with the events of one of them the characters and/or events might be different than what you remember. Actually, scratch that, Yuli throws a massive wrench into everything. So some events WILL be different.

I will also pull from cards in both the anime and manga, while sometimes making small/big/whatever the heckerino I want changes to the cards when necessary/I feel like it.

Heckerino, I might even make custom cards entirely if I feel like it makes sense in the universe. I will also make the most edits to a chapter within the first couple of days because I don't have a proofreader and will publish it, then reread it and make alterations if I notice a mistake or something I felt like I could have added to make it better. In the case of the Prologue I just straight up revamped it, as noted by the title of the first chapter.

Oh and just noticed I should probably update some things, this story will at times contain Gore and No-No words that you would need to put a quarter in the jar for.
