Synopsis

When she finally understood, she was already too late. The protagonists had already fallen in love with each other and planned for a marriage. Maybe she was still lucky though, for she narrowly avoided a situation of certain death. A long, painful and agonizing death. However, she couldn’t let this be. There was inside her a growing anger that had yet to disappear. She had yet to vent. It was a need. One that may lead her to death’s door too, but if she died by this person’s hands, certainly, it would be in a quicker way.

She just never thought that his revenge would come in the form he chose to give it. He was quite a… bewildering man.

WELL HELLO I SEE THE STORY THAT MADE ME CRY

Good pacing, good story telling, not to mention how good the main lead was characterized, this story has brought me to tears and has been one of my favorites. There wasnt much focus on the other characters but thats ok. The writing in this novel was in the POV of the MC which gives us a limited area of understanding. Although we are given some of the other character's thoughts still most of the story focuses on the main character and her thoughts. (It is written in first person after all)

I would have liked to see a little more of what the other characters thought or what they were doing at some points of the story but over all I am pretty darn satisfied with the story in its entirety.

Tldr: Good book go read it.

This is the best thing I've ever read. We got a villainess who commits her crime like you've seen in any other stories but she is not entirely stupid. She has done what she shouldn't have and knew her shortcomings and chose to continue this path as she prepared for the consequences.

I wanted to add that the pacing was perfect in order for the couple to fall for one another. They see each other every now and then but there was enough time for interaction verbally and *coughs* physically. Plus, everything was not too exaggerated and it gives you a sense of realism for the story to be reasonable.

Although the writing could have been better in the first 3 chapters since I was quite confused, but it definitely improved as I continued to read it. I think the best romance is when a couple gets to see the true colours of each other first and then accept each other's dark side. They start to slowly understand each other, go through hardships and create a better bond. Since the ML knew the villainous's pretentious side, she starts to annoy him with every chance possible shamelessly breaking down his barrier.

This story was so great that you'd wish there was more in their married life. I wanted to see more after they returned to the capital. Not sure if the author will continue the story since there was a closure in the end about having kids. I wasn't so interested in their children's stories but I know why it happened

      Spoiler

since the villainess had a miscarriage, the side story of the kids reassures us that she will live a good life. BTW, she was so traumatised with her miscarriage that she mistook this as the general giving her all this love on purpose to break her as a form of revenge. It's not, she's just thinking too much!

Best ML of the Year! I'm serious~ Plus I love our villainess, we should be grateful that she is shameless to the core. But in the end, we truly knew who the real villainous is. No one tried to understand our girl, thus, she was viewed negatively by the most disgusting couple, the Crown Prince and the transmigrated girl.

After the general and our villainess got together, of course the General's best friends the Crown Prince and transmigrated girl did not know how much their relationship had progressed. When the Crown Prince said "compared to Qi'er (trans girl), Murong An is (villainess/wifey)...." AND BAM our ML glared and cracked his tea or wine cup at that so called entitled best friend!!!! You don't mess with my wifey bish even if we're besties.

      Spoiler

The ML was a poor general who's dense about love coming from a military based family, he did not realise he fell in love with the transmigrated female protagonist until she reciprocated her feelings to the Crown Prince, his best friend. Forgot to mention, he's also her best friend too.

On the other hand, our villainous is the Crown Prince's cousin from the maternal side (I think, I forgot, or I made it up lol...) and they had a verbal agreement of having the villainess and Crown Prince to be betrothed to each other since young. However, the imperial family turned a blind eye to that verbal agreement and announced an engagement between the Crown Prince and the transmigrated girl who's "good in everything".

Everybody knew that the villainess was supposed to marry the Crown Prince, she wasted 18 years of her life preparing to marry him being told that she some day will become his future wife. She learnt the 4 arts painstakingly every single day along with embroidery, etiquette etc to prep herself. I love how the author wrote that these transmigrated people took everything so easy, while ladies during that time period actually used hard work to be who they are and where they are at that time.

Being good with observation, our villainess noticed that the general was secretly in love with the transmigrated girl. She then had a scheme thought out, it was to drug the general and take his virginity. Why? So that his virginity will never be taken by the transmigrated girl. Well another reason was because he pushed her into the pond to save the transmigrated girl. Of course this happened during the wedding banquet of the Crown Prince and the transmigrated girl. The villainess somewhat became psychopathic for me, which was a scare but I guess when you go mad, you could do anything.

A few days later, the villainess was afraid not knowing what revenge the general would do, but surprisingly he came asking for her hand in marriage and he of course made the Emperor announce an imperial decree for this so that she had no way out.

3 days after their marriage, she came back to her parents house with the general as a part of formality. However, he announced that she will going to war with him and none of her maids will come along. He planned to torture her by making her days difficult living by living as a peasant with cooking, housework etc in a run down house with no helpers around... little did you know it will become all sweet and savory.

Feels like a really short romance novel. A few grammar errors here and there, pretty sure 'howl' and 'howling' are meant to be 'hole' and 'to hole up' (as in to hide or hold a position in a particular area), and there are quite a few instances where the syntax is a bit jumbled, but none of it is a really big deal. The romance is nice, the s*x actually served a purpose in this story at times in displaying the emotional states of the characters which I thought was a nice touch, and the events that played out really felt like heavy romance f**k-you-day-up kinda stuff. Overall, I really liked what I read. This could have been a much longer story with more things added between events, but as a short story, it was a nice one.

How am I supposed to live my life without the rest of the story? This story is EXCELLENT!!!!!!! Extremely well written! The smut is realistic and not vulgar. The reader can really relate to the MC and it gives perspective and insights on how a villainess in transmigration stories would feel. The Feel tho!! The feel! I've never cried in a transmigration story, it's a first for me and god, it felt amazing!Adeline, you just create a fan! Great job! (* ˘⌣˘) ◞[_]♥[_]ヽ (•‿•)

Extremely good. Highly recommended for 18+ reader!! For once, they don't sugarcoat the villainess' action and is really realistic in portraying the aftermath of the MC after losing to the transmigrator FL. Be prepared to standby some tissue at hand though.

In this novel, you can really see that the MC is a villainess down to her bones, unlike other novels where they portray the main protagonist "villainess" as merely a facade.

The romance was so deep that, even if I was mainly here for the smut in the first place, it reached a point where I didn't care much about the smut anymore. I sought the burning passion kindling within their hearts, waiting to unfold the truth bottled deep within, hidden amidst all the deception that shielded their fragile souls.

This novel is written so wonderfully that you'll love and hate the MC. Her feelings and her thinking were well-written that you'll cry and cheer for her to have her own happy ending.
