Raine just wanted some money. All he needed was enough to get his business rolling. But when he agreed to take a much-needed job from his college friend Levin, he hadn’t expected to get stabbed, shot, and chased at midnight in L.A. with a drunk girl in the back seat of his car. And he hadn’t planned on joining a strange organization based in another world, thanks to which he flies off to a private island to suffer weeks of grueling training and endure intensive foreign language study the likes of which he hasn’t experienced since high school.
His friends sell the other world to him as a land of hope and second chances, a simple but beautiful place where he could put his many failings behind him and get a new start. Ignorant, trusting, and naive, he believed them.
But they lied.

About the Story: Please note that this story has a slow start. I try to flesh out Raine and give you a good understanding of who he is before the story truly gets rolling.
The release rate is highly inconsistent at the moment from copious amounts of writer's block. No set schedule.

This novel has become one of my favorite novels because the author focuses on making the characters feel real. Raine is such a likeable character and none of the other characters feel like extras. The introduction of new plot elements are done really well and although the story starts off slow, it was worth it. The story might have a similar idea as many others, but the portrayal of the characters, as well as how well explained everything is, makes it stand out. If you are sick of the traditional mundane isekai, give this novel a try.
Minor complaint, but I felt the synopsis was a bit misleading, specifically the last portion of it.

Definitely in my current top 5
Starts off slow for characters and world building but things get intense real quick after around chapter 30. The suspense and thrill were handled nicely and the story really emphasises teamwork rather than some unbalanced solo power creep like other novel.

definitely a slow start but it manages to keep you captivated with just the right amount of action and description. The story does an amazing job of making Raine (the main character) actually feel like a real person. The author doesn't bother explaining basic aspects of the world which really hammers in the mood of the story too. All in all It's a great read and I'm looking forward to reading the rest of this story

It's good but the progress is a bit slow to me, but isn't really a big problem. Also, the people said this one became his top 5 novels, well, I think it's good but not like that :)
