Lyn is a normal girl. Sold an infant to an inn so her family could have enough food for the winter. She works and schemes to pay off her bondage. One day, a God floats into the inn. He has come for his own reasons, and merely wants to rest. Seeing this as her chance for freedom, Lyn, the only person to step forward, chooses to entertain the man for a night. After being abused by her master she is dismissed by the God.

In the morning she is awoken by three glowing copper pennies. More than she has ever earned in one night. She leaves her village to follow the god as a disciple.

A God he is not, but an Immortal cultivator. He accepts her as a student. Now she travels the continent with him. She learns how to fight. More importantly she learns why she should fight. She learns that the world is not a good place, the rich and powerful lord over peasants and slaves alike. Using them for their own gain. Lyn needs to know how such vile people were given such privilege, and most importantly, how to change the world to be a better place for everyone.
