Ophelia lived. Then she died.

A saint, some called her. A vixen, others murmured. No one in the high nobility knew who this girl truly was, yet none seemed to not yearn for more, to look away from her bewitching grace. And as chess pieces gather, from the most eligible bachelors in the kingdom to women with peculiar tastes; Ophelia observes the pawns slowly moving, their actions causing bloodshed everywhere they touch. The Duke was standing at the corner of the room, looking at them as if they were nothing but mere ants, ready to be squashed at a moment’s notice; however, reality only sunk when they saw the wide grin on my lips.
“I don’t recall giving you permission to address me so casually.” My figure leaned forward, approaching their desperate expressions with satisfaction tingling beneath my skin. “You’ve raised me since I was but an infant, however, my mercy won’t be tested any further.”
