Synopsis

Ophelia lived. Then she died.
Like clockwork, her death was predetermined by the flames of fate, emerging in the darkness of her 18th birthday. Yet, time rewinded. Again. And again. After 9 lives of being abused, neglected, married off to monsters instead of men, she had enough.
A saint, some called her. A vixen, others murmured. No one in the high nobility knew who this girl truly was, yet none seemed to not yearn for more, to look away from her bewitching grace. And as chess pieces gather, from the most eligible bachelors in the kingdom to women with peculiar tastes; Ophelia observes the pawns slowly moving, their actions causing bloodshed everywhere they touch. And she loves it.
Has her soul become evil, or has she merely gone insane?

Sneak Peak:
"
“You are both revoked from your duties as my handmaids and hereby expelled from the Wharton’s estate.”
“Thank you, milady!”
“But since you damaged the dresses, you are to repay their full price within three years. If you refuse or fail to obey this command, you’ll have two fingers removed. Pack your things and go.”
“But that’s impossible! You know we can’t pay that amount! You are dooming us to fail, Ophelia!”
The Duke was standing at the corner of the room, looking at them as if they were nothing but mere ants, ready to be squashed at a moment’s notice; however, reality only sunk when they saw the wide grin on my lips.
“I don’t recall giving you permission to address me so casually.” My figure leaned forward, approaching their desperate expressions with satisfaction tingling beneath my skin. “You’ve raised me since I was but an infant, however, my mercy won’t be tested any further.”
"

    Status: chapter 34: family affair

The writing quality is amazing. I can feel the amount of effort put into this.

Fair warning, this novel handles some dark sh*t, so if you don't like darker stories then this isn't for you.

On the flipside, the descriptions in this are perfect.

Also, it is quite fun to see entitled psychopaths getting owned in simple interactions.

Definitely recommend reading this. If you can look past the darker themes, you can appreciate the work of art that this novel is.

    Status: chapter 73: human sacrifice

    Sincerely, a great work.

It really is one of the best novels of the Villaines noble girl genre that I have read.

The main character is not evil but she is not a saint either, she just wants to survive and take a little revenge. In this novel don't expect the protagonist to start earning a good reputation and become the heroine, it's a grimdark novel for a reason and in the dark world of this novel full of plots within plots, no one is pure and everyone is their own villain, including the protagonist.

As I said at the beginning it is a great work, very well written and with very good characters but it is not for all audiences, but if you like grimdark novels, I highly recommend this one.

Finally add as a note, that the main character has many suitors (reverse haren), but for the moment she has not accepted any romance advance and she doesn't seem to do it in the near future.
