When Nell left home last, she was a girl unsure of her place in the world. Unsure, even, of her gender. The scared little boy who used to be her is long gone now; for years Nell has navigated the tricky life of a trans woman in a society where to be different is to stand out. Through it all she's kept her head held high.

But now it's time to go home - to the small town that raised her, with all of its prejudices. And sometimes going home is the hardest thing a person can do.
