Jamie was just your average 18yr old Otaku: Quiet and unbecoming, with little to no social life outside of online interactions which, mind you, consisted of anime reviews, fan comments, and trolling on the internet.

Every day is spent just reading novels and watching anime. Only leaving the comfort of his own room to go eat, bathe, and go to school.

For what it's worth, he was Asian, so even without hitting the books he managed to be one of the top in his class and even in his University.
He has always been proud of such an achievement with only a little effort, but everything went downhill for him...

Perhaps all the bad habits had been an early telltale sign of what was to come.

The doctors diagnosed Jamie with a severe case of cardiac tumor that has already spread and traveled through his bloodstream. At best, he would be able to live a few more months before passing away...

Much to their surprise, the doctors were not met by the wailing cries of the young man and incessant begging to save their life. Instead, what they saw was a calm look, as though he had expected the results. The young man in front of them felt distant and serene, as though he has already come to terms.

"Thank you..." the young man whispered as he began to walk away from the doctor's office. He had not expected such an illness to occur, but he had always felt that he would die young for some reason...

These were the reasons why he felt no need to stress himself on school work but rather enjoyed his time in school listening; why he let himself go to endure sleepless nights watching and reading novels and the magical world they contained; why he had distanced himself from others for fear that he may grow too attached.

Yes, at the time, it may have seemed silly to believe such unfounded thoughts, but he trusted his instincts and went with his own decisions; he withdrew himself from others; he distracted himself with stories to cover up the pain of loneliness.

A young man stood in a dark, empty street as droplets of rain began to pour.

Jamie was looking at the ground limply as the rain began to drench his hair and clothes; making them stick to his body.

The colors of the distant buildings reflected on his face, creating a cascade of mixed light on his face; the rain washed his tears as he muttered weakly, "I did the right choice... "

AN: Hello everyone! This will have random updates, and just to clarify to the readers, I tagged this as BL since our MC here 'was' a male but will be gender bent into a female... ALTHOUGH! Unlike other stories, I will actually make this story to go with it and accept his "new" self... though it wouldn't be that hard since it will be told in future chapters.

PS: I know I'm pretty bad at keeping promises from my other pending stories, but I'm a University student so I kind of get too busy most of the time. I'm in pre-med so yeah :')
