Clement takes great pride in his humble shepherding business, as did his father and grandfather before that. But possessing the fairest voice in all the land gives him unwanted attention, and so Clement only sings to the wild creatures of nature.
Kazereth steers clear of humankind. Fed on the tales of men hunting beasts, he has no intention of leaving the cave his master created and abandoned him in. But there’s a voice that sings, soft and warm, and a man that leaves food outside his cave. A kindness Kazereth has never been shown, and it’s almost enough to override his fear and show himself.
