Hiro Shishigami (獅子神 皓, Shishigami Hiro) is the main antagonist who eventually becomes a deuteragonist. He is a high school student and a mass murderer after becoming a cyborg.

Appearance  

Hiro was a potentially tall young man with short navy hair that has bangs hanging on the right side, deep brown eyes, he is shown to be at least of medium height and he has a particularly pretty face to the point that he attracts a lot of attention from females around him.

Personality

Although Hiro appears to be a kind and polite boy, he was a selfish person who uses his cybernetic power to murder people that annoy him, or slaughter families to make him feel alive. He believes that with his new power, he was now above everyone else, and no one on the planet can stop him. However, despite his homicidal desires, Hiro is not completely monstrous. He was shown saving and helping people at multiple points, both unprompted and also as guided by those he cares for. This suggests that Hiro has some humanity lingering in his system, as he was also shown to love his mother dearly and intensely cares for a close few around him, such as Naoyuki Andō or Shion Watanabe. Although Hiro's cybernetics might contribute his sociopathy, other factors such as living with his mother in a rundown apartment and his father having another family, the frustrations of high school life, and dealing with bullies might have also be responsible for becoming the person he used to be.

Death

When a massive asteroid threatened the planet, Ichirō Inuyashiki ventured into space in an attempt to destroy it, but didn't have enough water to sustain his laser weapons. At the last minute, an injured Hiro arrives to help, wanting to save the lives Ichiro cherished, such as his foster father, Shion Watanabe and her family. After running up a simulation, he arrives at the conclusion that his self-destruct mechanism would be powerful enough to destroy the asteroid. Hiro kneels down at the asteroid and closed his eyes while Ichiro pushed both of his eyes before moving away from him. Hiro self-destructs in a massive, yet brilliant explosion, though the blast was not enough to destroy the asteroid.

Left without other alternatives, Ichiro activated his own self-destruct, breaking the asteroid into pieces small enough to burn up upon entering Earth's atmosphere. However, despite the good deed Hiro had done, the explosion wasn't enough to fully destroy the asteroid, forcing Inuyashiki to sacrifice himself by activating his own self destruct system and causing a second explosion that fully destroys the asteroid.

Reika Shimohira (下平 玲花, Shimohira Reika) is a main character in the series. She is a popular Japanese idol who is famous for her acting, modeling and singing, as well as an extremely skilled Gantz player.

Appearance

Reika is considered by most to be an extremely attractive woman of average height with mid-back length black hair that has bangs hanging on the right side, brown eyes, a large bust, wide hips and a narrow waist.

Personality

Reika is a kind person who shows compassion for those killed during the Gantz missions, she is best described as Kei Kurono's "sidekick" during the missions, providing support for those trying to stay alive and helping Kurono complete his missions. Unlike most of the other Gantz players, Reika is quick to charge at the aliens if it means helping Kurono.

Reika is an extremely skilled Gantz player, but her supernatural abilities are all given by her Gantz suit and weapons

Death

Reika died protecting the unconscious Kurono. He cried and apologized for saying mean things to her, further admitting that he did love her, and didn't hate her for anything. He picks up her dead body and walks down the path, the carnage from the events before littering the way.

Chiho Johansson (ちほ ヨハンソン, Chiho Yohanson), also known for her

stage name Papico (パピコ, Papiko) is the female

main character in Gigant. She is the girlfriend of Rei

Yokoyamada who was an adult video actress at the beginning of the

story, but later on after saving Japan from a devastating attack and becoming a

national idol, Chiho stated she quitted doing AVs as she wants to focus on being

a TV celebrity from now on.

By chance, she received a device that could make her

gigantic which she uses to save the public from catastrophes caused by ETE.

Appearance

Chiho is a young

beautiful girl with relatively short pink hair, pink eyes and she has a mole

under her left eye and on the left side under her lips.

Personality

Chiho is a nice girl

that got into AV business as an easy way to make money for living and to

support her family. Even thought her brothers and mother exploit her for her

money, she still loves them and helps them out. She loved her father as she

remembers him as the only person from her family to truly love her.

Chiho is not a girl

to give up and let her being abused. Even at the times she got into a fight

with her ex-boyfriend Ryuji, she was fighting and hitting back. At first she was

seeing Rei as nice person and fan, who later became good friend and in time her

new lover. For his sake, she started fighting the gigantic monsters that

appeared in Japan.

The fight led to

damages in the city and she was in trouble at first, but the attention she got

from all of this led to her boom in popularity. Even though she became

extremely popular, she still remained the same, living in the same place and

still loving Rei.
