This is difficult to read after the initial scene is set. He has supposedly inherited Lex Luthor's genius and, after the brainfog is cleared, there's a lot of emphasis put on how smart he really is and how he's got to plan everything carefully... and yet he doesn't plan anything at all, and constantly makes the worst possible decisions on a whim, and all the characters around him react like it's totally normal. Even to the point where he almost immediately reveals that he has powers to Lex's indoctrinated, zealously-loyal personal assistant despite his inner monologue having mentioned a couple of times already that he absolutely needs to hide the fact he has powers from Lex.
Even just within the first 5 chapters, the constant inconsistencies and contradictions and ridiculous plot armour (of how others around him react) is too frustrating.
If you just want smut and don't care about plot, plot holes, and things making sense, maybe give it a go, but there hasn't been enough of that yet for me to really rate that aspect.

The first Cambrian story which felt like a bait and switch to be honest. Starts off with an interesting concept and seemingly intelligent MC, but drops the ball after the first 3 chapters, with the MC's motivations and intelligence both seemingly foolish.
While it's understandable that his life hasn't been the best the first time around, the MC acts recklessly and like a beta in his very first precarious situation, despite having apparently inherited Lex Luthors intelligence.
While I won't be dropping the story yet since I've enjoyed nearly all of Cambrian's other works, I hope that the poor decision making is just bad Patreon votes rather than what the rest of the story will be like, otherwise it would end up being a pretty crappy novel overall.

A Power Fantasy That Knows It’s Fun, So Let It Be Fun
Let’s get one thing straight: this story isn’t trying to reinvent literary fiction or win a Pulitzer. It knows exactly what it is, a wild, high-energy ride where the bastard son of Lex Luthor gets a second chance at life, falls into the arms of Death (literally), and awakens a freakishly cool ability to rewrite his own biology.
If you're coming in expecting a hyper-rational mastermind playing twelve-dimensional chess in every scene, you might be missing the point. Sure, our boy inherits Luthor's brainpower, but trauma, grief, and literal resurrection tend to throw even the brightest minds off their game. That’s character development, not a contradiction.
Yes, he makes reckless choices. You know what that’s called? Being human. Even superpowered, reborn, semi-immortal humans can still be messy, and honestly, that’s what makes him interesting. Do you want a flawless robot protagonist or someone who screws up, adapts, and learns?
The grammar and prose are clean, the pacing is punchy, and the emotional undercurrent, especially the implications of being loved by Death, is a surprisingly tender layer beneath the surface. This isn’t just smut or plot-filler. It’s a fusion of power fantasy, internal conflict, and chaotic second chances wrapped in a DC-adjacent sandbox that invites readers to buckle in and enjoy the madness.
And let’s be honest, if you’re making sweeping critiques before even hitting chapter ten, you might want to dig a little deeper. The story evolves, the stakes rise, and the protagonist’s journey becomes clearer. Dismissing it too early says more about the reader’s patience than the writer’s intent.
If you’re here for gritty logic puzzles and ultra-realistic character arcs, maybe this isn’t your speed. But if you're down for a genre-savvy romp through metahuman mayhem, with clever writing, a unique premise, and emotional stakes that go beyond the surface, you're going to have a really good time.
