Alexander King loves the idea of an isekai just as much as the next person. Reading about someone who was plucked out of our world and thrown into a world full of magic and danger and watching them struggle to make sense of the chaos around them as they rise to power.

But those things are just supposed to stay as stories, they weren't meant to happen to him. Reality was never as forgiving as fiction and he had no doubt that if he ended up in one of these worlds he'd more than likely die some sad pathetic death, nor did he particularly have a desire to leave his family and friends. So naturally, with his luck, he wakes up God-knows-where with a system status in front of his eyes only to almost instantly die too the hostile environment around him.

Alex is definitely going to find his way back... If he can avoid being killed by the godlike beings that happen to just be everywhere on this world first.

I guess I should throw this out there and it's probably important that I should do so to clearly state my intentions with this story. This is not going to be a happy-go-lucky story all the way through. It will start relatively upbeat, but there are going to be dark parts. There's going to be things that are hard to stomach, things that will make you uncomfortable. If that's not something you like, that's fine. Not every story is for everyone, maybe this one won't be for you.

To allay some questions this story is not designed to be a torture porn sort of fic. But that doesn't mean I will shy away from talking about characters being tortured or abused. I also won't skip through those portions of the story in an attempt to get them done more quickly. These things need to run their course in order for the importance of the circumstances to fully be imparted into the story. If you as a reader need to skip over these moments, that's perfectly fine. I do that myself in certain fics/shows when I start feeling uncomfortable. That's just a natural reaction. Anyway, I've gotten a couple of people who haven't been happy with it, and that's fine. I don't begrudge those people for disliking these parts of the story, I'm just putting this out there so that future readers come in knowing what to expect instead of being unfortunately blind-sided by my nearsightedness on the situation. I definitely should've had a warning up way earlier for people about this.
