Eyes still half closed, he went through the messages, “Look at the night, the moon looks so red!” “The moon is beautiful today!” “The night sky is breathtaking, look outside your window!” “There’s no way you want to miss the moon today!” Due to his habit of sleeping in complete darkness, with curtains closed, he didn’t, on instinct, immediately turn around to look outside the window near his bed, which caused his gaze to linger around longer to find a letter on the nightstand.

When he held the letter though, a symbol embossed on it immediately caught his attention. It was of a secret society he made along with his friends when they were kids. Friends who had one by one disappeared from his life. He opened it to find only a single piece of paper, and some liquid dripping on his palm.

Quickly transitioning to a sitting posture while he grasped the paper in one hand, he turned on the lamp with the other. His eyes widened, pupils dilating, as he looked at the hand holding the paper, which soon began shaking as dark red liquid kept sliding off the paper to stain his hand.

Is it blood?

Containing his fear, he concentrated his gaze onto the paper which had some messy words written over it with the same liquid.

“Don’t look at the moon!”

What to expect:
- A single power-mom trying to keep her daughter out of trouble
- A daughter struggling with the shit hand the world dealt her
- Cameos of your favorite cp 2077/ Edgerunner characters, but not in the way you might expect
- No smut. Blue-balling? Maybe, but no smut. Fanfiction does not equal smut.
- Rather detailed descriptions of reprehensive things that make cyberpunk cyberpunk (First chapter starts with casual human trafficking)
- Alot of atmosphere and background world-building and day-to-day things of life in a cyberpunk city, which technically makes this a Slice-of-Life story, but its a bit intense for that I think... Let me know what you think.

So, this has gone on longer than I thought it would. It also bloated in size. And I really need to rewrite the first three chapters or so, I like to believe I've grown in writing-skill and there are times I cringe when I read the first chapters...
This started as the first story I decided to flesh out and post and I'd love to hear feedback. I won't hold it against you if you shit on my story, actually I'd welcome it. If you feel the need to critizise or are dissapointed, it means you care and I'd like to hear from you. The basic idea is from a datashard in cp2077 (See: Cyberpsycho Sightings: Smoke on the Water) and while I was at it I added a missfired isekai in there. I was originally planning to have the MC not become OP to quickly and without the help of any system or magic bs, but its been 100k words and by now I think it could be better to worry less about powercreep and more about story beats. Don't get me wrong, there'll still be fights and there'll still be growth, but I won't nitpick about every little increment. This isn't a litRPG after all. Leave me some feedback or shit on me for not making it one :)

Quick disclaimer: I'm not going to write smut in this. Writing gore I'm fine with, but actually writing any details about the 'two weeks in hell' that I am teasing will not happen. Besides the unknown horror having more impact, some things are just better left unsaid. Tag suggestions are welcome, alot of them are technically applicable, but maybe not accurate, like the tag for 'Dolls/Puppets', and others I haven't gotten to yet, like 'Revenge'. This is a story about a native cultivator of the Gu world. He lived in the era of/before Spectral Soul Demon Venerable (two venerable eras before the main RI plot). He suffered the rise of the demon venerable, barely able to make his arrangements before his death. He manages to rebirth, but doesn't everything go as planned. The story starts off in an isolated small word (grotto heaven), until the MC can grow and reclaim his former glory, before surpassing it. (long way, he was already rank 8 before) The MC has a pragmatic worldview, aligned with what you would expect from someone living hundreds of years in that kind of hostile environment. He doesn't shy away from immoral acts if it benefits him. The MC bears close resemblance to Fang Yuan in this regard, but his goal is not eternal life.

One of my aims was to showcase the later introduced cultivation rules into the mortal cultivation (dao marks, attainment etc.) and explore novel scenarios within this highly technical cultivation environment. <<less
