I personally like transformation stories. That a change happens that the MC can't simply ignore.
Nonetheless, I really wish for the character to still behave like a normal person. If not I ask myself what even is the point of the MC being a former human if they for example just act like any other demon.
Also, I have a preferation for female MCs.
Maybe I just got tired of all those harem protagonists. But even if they're not like this, I find that the stuff that happens has less impact. It's somewhat expected from a male character to fight and survive. I find the emotional turmoil of a girl far more relatable.
What I really dislike is when the girl big plastered on a cover is not the supposed MC but the pale guy in the background of the right corner.
This week in Formicea instead of the usual chapter I'm going to release a little side story of Kyska. Since it plays much earlier it will be located somewhere in the middle. While like this there will be no real story progress, I can promise it's large (but I'm going for time delays of around an hour between each chapter). There will be another message like this on the latest chapter.

A weord coincidence but my character is named Eldritch too. Did you take that name from lovecraft?
Eldritch is the general word to describe a lovecraftian horror. And since my story is basically about that and I planned to let as much as I've gathered on that matter flow inside it I thought "why not keep it simple?".
Genuine question, is the whole person changing into a monster unwillingly thing your kink? Either way, no shame.
Maybe. I like the general idea of power you don't want. How it messes up one's life even if it's not necessary negative and acceptance is difficult. It could also be magic or something along the line but the monster change fits that trope better. But in general only the kind of monsters I personally don't see as deformed. Still some aesthetic value has to be present. For example don't like "Undermind" because it was a troll.

Little question. In Formicea I thought it might be better to increase Erys' age from 16 close to 17 to 17 close to 18. Considering everything that happens to her and regarding the sexual undertone of some situations (even if it never comes to the act). My initial reason for the age was that in a medieval world it's strange if she isn't married at some age. Yet I'm unsure and making this kind of change now could bother some readers, right? Could you tell me your opinions about this?
17~18 is better
In America The age is 18, the age of consent ... sex or marriage .. while japan is much lower and various Other countries have all different Ages for sex and marriage. I would Assume for most readersit's based upon their Place of Origin. So advisedly it is 18 or it's breaking a law. Yet psychologically mature, who matured faster and what gauges maturity? A 300 year old fairy who only plays and steals and does as it desires. Good question you have... what is a good answer ?
I have a question: In the future, I'll need to describe a certain military organization. There are normal guards, then the more specialized soldiers who form squads of four to six with a second in command and a squad leader. Then an upper official and on top a captain.
At the moment I am stuck with:
common soldiers-> second rank soldier-> first rank soldier (second in command)-> second rank officer-> first rank officer-> captain.
Any ideas if there's a way to name them better?
I will say that in the end it doesn’t matter. The ranks most people know are private, sergeant, and gysgt on the enlisted side. Lt, capt, and general on the officer side. So numbering the way you do makes sense. The other thing that’s out there is just calling it E1-> Private and O1-> 2nd lt. And that’s universal across all branches. At least in the US.
Well, it's still a medieval world, so I'm sure private would sound too foreign. While I believe sergeant, lieutenant, captain, and commander was possible. But maybe I'm on the wrong track as it's still also a fantasy world. Just want to avoid that people think it's dumb.

Doesn't really work as aside from the captain all of them are commoners. Chivalric orders are thought for nobility.

Like I mentioned before there is a story about an insect princess I would like to publish. The problem was that I had no cover yet.
So I really tried to make one and this is the result.
I'm quite insecure about it and know that I can't really draw. Still, I first wanted to ask how others see it.

I like transformation stories and from the total I've got, there are three which I think are big enough.
One is about eldritch demons, one about spiders and one about ant-like insects.
Yet there are different problems which each of them, while the biggest might be my abysmal art skills, rendering me unable to design a cover.

My stories are more on the psychological side, illustrating the change and how the character has to deal with them, instead of powerbuilding.
I would like it...the story ' i don't want to be the hive queen' has no character Development...the whole time the guy is ranting that he's human, humans don't do that and bla bla bla... and think of it...write the story for yourself, if you would become uncomfortable it will become a pain to even think of publishing a chapter...
if you write, for example, about some cannibalistic futanari that likes to kill its victims on the high point of orgasm, then your readers should either deal with it or fuck of...if you bend your story after your readers then e.g. the Main mc becomes like an old dog that is dragged from one end to another...everything would become forced and uncomfortable even for your readers...well that's my ranting...
